The political left will never recover from Trump Derangement Syndrome. President Donald Trump could put the economy on a perpetual growth path, stop World War III, bring permanent peace to the Middle East, resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict and in his spare time cure cancer and put a man on Mars, and the Democrats and progressives would still blindly hate him. Would the Republicans and conservatives who have battered and cursed him since 2015 continue to bitterly disapprove of him, as well?
Trump has had an extraordinary run so far. An AI analysis by Newsweek says the first six months of Trump’s second term “have been the most

Boohoo! These people don't like Trump! They need to change their minds!
Good grief! Let the never-Trumpers be as stupid as they want to be. This isn't junior high where everybody has to like you.

On Jan 20, 2029 if there is a President Vance (which I earnestly hope for) just watch TDS being transferred to him. The crazier ones will STILL be blaming Trump.

Don't care. They are lost minds. They told us for years that they were "conservative", and yet they rage and get hysterical against the most effective conservative President EVER. Apparently, mean tweets and going against the Deep State offend them, and no amount of doing the proper things to save the country is ever going to be 'good enough'.
Scroom.

Never Trumpers don't hate him for his policies. They hate him for his brashness, bull in a china shop approach, unpredictability, his fight and ability to sow chaos. Trump represented the fight back and take no prisoners approach that the Republican base had been craving since Reagan.
For the Never Trumpers to come home, they have to admit that they were wrong and that they were ineffective. I know, I used to be one.

Never. They’d rather see Trump fail than America succeed.
Rush said it perfectly a long time ago: What’s good for America is bad for the Democrat Party, and vice versa. Same with the Never Trump political class. Some were named in the article, Kinzinger being the most pathetic, most were not. But we all know who they are.

Agree #4. And if they were part of the deep state to destroy him, a la Bolton and Cheney, they are just shaking in their boots right now.

Never Trumpers' home is very hot and sulfurous and shared with the dimocrats. They will be there for eternity. We don't want them. I despise these Quislings as much as dimocrats, perhaps worse.

I don't see these people returning home. They made it personal, but in truth, it was all about power and wealth at the expense of everyone else. They operate just like the Democrats. They are gone. Good riddance.

For a movement to be strong, you need strong people. The TDS crowd is weak and fickle. We’re better off without them.

The answer is no. The late Rush Limbaugh pointed out that Trump did more to push the conservative agenda forward in his first term than any President since Reagan, and this was still met with derision by alleged "conservative" DC insiders. Rush pointed out that the most stalwart Never Trumpers were alleged conservatives who ran DC-based think tanks and right-leaning publications, and both groups depended upon financial support from a base of voters who felt DC wasn't listening (and DC really wasn't listening). DC would ultimately listen to these think tanks and publications -- so the story they peddled went-- but only if the base in the rest of the country kept supporting them financially so that they could push the agenda. Reality is that nothing was being accomplished by the think tanks and publications to move the cause of conservatism forward, but those on the receiving end of the financial support were doing quite well. In essence, it was grifting by so-called right wingers. And Trump's success rendered their issues moot, thus depriving them of their meal tickets.

The only explanation I can come up with that would justify such continued ill behavior is that all of the deranged have some sort of stake in "the other side" - graft, corruption, the deep state, foreign influence - and they stand only to lose.

The problems President Trump is seeking to address accumulated over the entire Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama era, plus the Biden relapse. Of course some nominal conservative office holders from that era are and will continue to be unhappy.

If they ever return, we need to be worried about the Manchurian candidate that caused them to change their opinion.

NR's Against Trump issue was the single most destructive act committed by so-called conservatives against their cause in my living memory.
Trump didn't need them. And I don't want them. They can stay where they are, publishing their high school newspapers with ven cap funding.
But I do want National Review back. Not to be a Trump cheerleader, but to be once again a conservative magazine and to restore its prominent place leading the conservative movement. Fire Rich Lowry and most of the staff, and hire somebody like a young Andrew Breitbart or healthier Mark Steyn to lead it. Then let it lead us forward into the future.

I was going to say "Heavy Medication" might make them rational, and then I thought that heavy medication of the wrong kinds might be responsible for their emotional problems and irrationality in the first place. So, then I thought: "Maybe a lobotomy would do it"....... But then I thought some more and decided that they might have already had at least a partial one of those too.

"What more does Trump have to do to get them on board?"
The Never Trumpers hate Trump because their super sized egos felt they owned the Conservative agenda. Trump ignored them. That was an unforgivable sin.
The sad thing is, the Never Trumpers' plans never seemed to deliver much to voters. Women hate it when men 'mansplain' things to them. Never Trumpers conservesplained to Conservative voters to a similar annoying effect. It might have been tolerable if their advice worked but it usually didn't. The never Trumpers didn't care. Purity to their "gospel" was what mattered.
We don't WANT them on board. If they were, Trump would have to be continually watching for a knife in the back from one of them. They have very little credibility now and that's a good thing. Even after Trump's term is over, if any candidate starts cozying up to Never Trumpers, that would be a REALLY bad sign.

We don't want these backstabbers back, ever.
Think of the dozen or more "conservative commentators" who went insane when Trump was the candidate....Ann Coulter, Mona Charen, Johah Goldberg, Bill Kristol, David French, Rich Lowry (perhaps a recovering TDS victim), Peggy Noonan, George Will, Thomas Friedman......all gone completely nuts from serious TDS.
I don't miss any of them.

The people I know who hate him, have a very bitter and hateful streak that lives in them. I despised Hillary Clinton and obama and Michelle, but I never actively "hated" them or was affected by anything in my heart or life. Those with TDS truly have something deep going on with their hate. I feel like the media is a huge part of the insanity of how people blindly hate President Trump. They have been stoking the hate for 10 years now.

Want to see an NR eunuch go nuts? Simply point out, correctly, that Donald Trump has arguably done more to advance conservatism among Main Street Americans, across economic levels and racial and ethnic lines, than William F. Preaching-to-the-Entitled-White-Boy-Choir Buckley did.
I was an NR subscriber for over 30 years.

Just an observation or perhaps a weak attempt at humor, not a judgment from a 3X Trump voter but remaining outside of his A-men corner. Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), like other maladies, such as autism, is on a spectrum. Although the term "Never Trumper(s)," has no coherent, common definition, it appears to occupy one pole of the TDS spectrum. Logic would thus indicate that the other pole of the spectrum is occupied by "Ever Trumper(s)," which could be qualitatively defined in relative terms, as the polar opposite of "Never Trumpers" and vice versa. Circa 2025, on L.com, one is a term of derision and the other is more of a badge of honor, even if unspoken as such. In the 20th Century prior to Trump, one's political ideology was gauged by one's position on the hard left - hard right spectrum. Today, it appears to be qualitatively judged according to one's expressed belief in the absolute majesty or infallibility of Donald Trump, although Trump, himself, has made it difficult or impossible to pin down his overarching political ideology, as between 1987 and 2012 (not ancient history), Trump, through his political party registration history, has been a Republican, New York Independent, democrat, non-affiliated (unspecified Independent), and back to Republican.
