Justice Department suspends DEA's controversial

The Department of Justice is cracking down on the Drug Enforcement Administration's controversial practice of "consensual encounters" at airports after multiple complaints. The practice includes DEA special agents or task force officers approaching individuals at airports and then asking for consent to search the individual’s belongings. The DOJ's move comes four years after Scripps News Tampa Investigative Reporter Kylie McGivern highlighted the practice of civil asset forfeiture at airports by the DEA. Civil asset forfeiture allows federal agencies to seize cash and other property suspected of being involved in a crime, even if charges are never filed against the owner.

From the Office of Inspector General's report: The OIG further learned that the DEA Task Force Group selected this traveler for the encounter based on information provided by a DEA confidential source, who was an employee of a commercial airline, about travelers who had purchased tickets within 48 hours of the travel. The OIG learned that the DEA had been paying this employee a percentage of forfeited cash seized by the DEA office from passengers at the local airport when the seizure resulted from information the employee had provided to the DEA. The employee had received tens of thousands of dollars from the DEA over the past several years." So the airline employee was making a small fortune informing on airline passengers. Talk about a conflict of interest. I'd like both the name of the employee and the airline. Reprehensible!

Civil asset forfeiture was always wrong and this was predicted when it was passed. Using the strong arm thugs of government to steal with full legal protection and no conviction is beyond wrong. It is evil. Those who engage in it are just as evil.

Legalized government robbery. However, couldn't these people have avoided this problem by getting a cashiers check from the bank for the money rather than carrying around so much cash?

In addition to this legalized robbery, pieces of luggage are tampered with and contents go missing at airports. There is an open possibility of dangerous contents being introduced into luggage in this manner. Instead of focusing on passengers, the airlines and their workers should be under the microscope.

Before 9/11 one time I locked a suitcase but before I locked it, I tied a thread connecting the top and bottom to see if the suitcase had been opened. When I got to destination and opened it, the thread was broken. For some reason I knew my suitcase had been opened in the past, too long ago to remember.

Stay out of Seward County, Nebraska -- they have made "civil asset forfeiture" into a high art. They have grabbed so much cash from people driving through on I-80 it would make your head spin.

Look around you. The future has arrived. Nearly 100 years ago, a group of deep thinkers dared to imagine what life would be like in 2025. [SNIP] English writer H.G. Wells, the author of “The Time Machine,” “The War of the Worlds” and “The Invisible Man,” foretold a new world order for 2025. Speaking at a dinner gathering at the Hotel Cecil in London, Wells predicted that global power would rest with confederations of people instead of independent countries. “In a hundred years, there will not be numerous nations, but only three great masses of people — the United States of America, the United States of Europe and China."

"It's clear that DEI holds litigation, reputational and financial risks to the Company, and therefore financial risks to shareholders," the National Center for Public Policy Research wrote in its letter of support.

As many as 1,428 of the 1,463 political jokes on these shows - from September 3 through October 25 - were targeted at Trump, the study found.

After losing the open borders debate and the election, Democrats and their media stopped arguing that mass migration is a right and that mass deportations violate human rights. 6 out of 10 registered voters were polled in favor of deporting illegal aliens. The American people had spoken. So Democrats and their media instead argued that mass deportations would be too expensive.

Radiation levels have spiked in New York City, fueling conspiracy theories that the drones terrorizing the Northeast are searching for a missing nuclear warhead. The emissions, clocked by GQ Electronics' Geiger Counter World Map, were detected near the Bronx and Upper West Side Wednesday. The application shows a radiation reading of 1048 counts-per-minute (CPM), i.e. how many particles were detected, in the Bronx: higher than normal background radiation. The average person is typically exposed to background radiation that measures around five to 60 CPM, though CPM varies with sensor devices, according to NASA. And, on the the Upper West Side, the app's reading measured a still high 175 CPM.
