Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has died at the age of 100, almost two years after announcing he would spend his final days in hospice care.
The Democrat former peanut farmer, who served one term in the White House and dedicated the rest of his life to charity, decided against more medical treatment in February after a string of hospital stays.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner lived out his final months in Plains, Georgia. He had beloved wife of 77 years Rosalynn by his side until her passing on November 19, 2023 at the age of 96.

He was a good man in the wrong profession (politics). I think he thought he could make a difference, but not in the swamp that is politics.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Carter was not a fool. Everything he did was with a purpose, and the USA was not his priority. He then tried to hide behind Habitat for Humanity and his "faith." He had a long life and gave no thought to those he harmed.

Prayers for his family. 100 is a long life.
I wonder how the funeral will be handled considering DC is gearing up for the inauguration and Biden is so far gone he can even buy a clue.

Will his "Funeral week" last longer than McCains? Will Biden drop dead so they can share the rotunda?
Carter spent most of his life as a 1 term Ex President.
Biden spent most of his life as a "Next President"...ended up with 1 term.

Frankly, I am surprised the man lasted this long and I'm glad he's gone to his Maker; don't know if it will be a rest in peace, but maybe we will get some justice for all his disasters. As a Cuban-born US citizen, I've had a particular aversion toward Carter, even before the Mariel boatlift; I used to spend afternoons as an INS volunteer interviewing the myriads of felons and released psychos arriving by boat. I despised what he did to Iran, and how he always cuddled with the worst of the left all over the world. I've been also a volunteer with Habitat since the 1990s, and no pile of nails or crates of hammers will get me to admire this man, who hid behind his religious work to avoid scrutiny. The one time I heard him talk about a Sunday School lesson, I realized he had no real knowledge of the Bible, he was very confused. I never believed he was just a deceived, but well meaning fool: Jimmy held firm to his misguided views. And I don't think the motives were benign either --- just look at what the Carter Center has done during its existence. And look at the bloodshed he indirectly brought about in the Middle East. God gave him a long and comfortable life; but I hope it's another story on the other side.

So, yes, he was an honest man in the wrong profession. Habitat for Humanity was the best he did. Either than that, he was a total disaster. So now, is he going to continue screwing the country with the funeral very conveniently in the rotunda on January 6?????

I too once thought he was just a nice but rather daft man who lacked the skill set for leadership, much less POTUS. However, as one reads over the years about how he really treated staff, SS, and “the little people” behind the scenes, Carter was not anything like the MSM marketed him.

Somehow I sense he'll still cast a vote in 2026 and 2028.
Interestingly, at his Presidential Library, you'll notice a couple year gap which is strange for most Presidents as they seem to have detail on nearly everything throughout their life.
Was while he was in the military and someone mentioned there was an issue while he served on a sub.

Never forget that the coward caved to the ayotollahs and refused to support the Shah of Iran. The entire planet has suffered from that stupidity with 45 years of Muslim terrorist attacks. Every one of them lies at Carter’s feet. He was a huge anti-Semite too.

I believe his funeral has been planned to be held in Plains, similar to Rosalyn's service. I seem to recall that the Carter's did not want the usual DC service. Perhaps that plan has been amended since I heard of it. We'll find out soon enough.

Now Biden can attend Carter’s funeral as one of last official acts. This seems appropriate, the two worst presidents in modern U.S. history, one physically gone and the other mentally gone. Carter owes Biden a lot, his legacy looks so much better in comparison to Biden’s.

While he was probably the worst president until Obozo and Biteme came along, no one can say anything bad about Carter once he left D.C. He really left D.C. He didn't hang around and try to influence the people in Washington like Obozo has done, and he certainly didn't line his pockets like Biteme did selling his position to the highest bidder. He was something that doesn't exist today. A democrat with scruples.

Would Democrats allow FJB, the titular president, one last chance behind the lectern and the dual Telepropmters, mumbling, whispering, and hollering Carter's eulogy? Probably not. He hasn't got long to go himself ... him and his damn aviators. Can't wait to see the last of both.
Seventeen years ago, Carter, never a friend of Israel, published a book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid (sic), that contained a punctuational error on its cover. Jimmy Carter, allegedly a Sunday School teacher, didn't give much if any thought to the Abrahamic Covenant in Genesis 12:2-3. Did he choose favoring Islam over his own salvation? That's between him and our Savior. He did a few decent things in his life, but none of them involved politics or foreign policy. In all important matters, he was either a dupe or a malign influence, and we're still paying for his bad statecraft. So long, Jimmy.

I take serious issue with one of the above posts.
After Jimmy Carter was booted out of office, he did everything he could to undercut U.S. foreign policy, with the possible exception of the suicidal Iran deal. An anti-Semite to the core.
Genesis 12:2-3 came immediately to mind to me as well.

Those of us who lived through the gas crisis, the Panama Canal giveaway and the Iranian hostage crisis, among other foreign and domestic catastrophes have less than fond memories of his disastrous presidency.

I’ve never understood the idea that it is wrong to speak ill of the dead. If they were destructive then why pretend otherwise? The damage Carter did while appearing to fumble his way through his presidency cost immeasurable human suffering that continues today. For no good reason he blew the lid off the Middle Eastern powder keg with no plan to manage what would inevitably result. He also damaged our military defense to an alarming degree. My husband was a brand new Annapolis grad and officer on a nuclear submarine during Carter’s time as CinC and he and other young and very talented Navy men left the service because of morale-killing policies. Retention was so low that officers on subs had to stand duty every other night while in port and shore assignments for nukes barely existed.

Jimmy Carter motivated me. He once appeared in his cardigan sweater and addressed the nation about the energy crisis. He told us to put on a sweater like his and turn the thermostat down to 66 or something. I immediately turned my thermostat up to as high as I could get it and spent the winter naked as a jay bird. He is responsible for the overthrow of the Shah of Iran which turn that great country into a 3rd world cesspool which has waged war on Israel and the US ever since. Minds are strange things. I have been trying to forget the name of Amy Carter's cat for decades. Guess I should say something nice. Am certain only two women ever saw him nekkie. His wife and Mama.

So many cheap and snide remarks about President Carter.
When he ran against Gerald Ford, he pledged to put an end to 'baseline budgeting' by having zero=-based budgeting so governmental agencies would have to justify their budgets rather than keep getting 2-3% automatic raises, but the elites in his own party called the shots against this intrusion on the growth of government and did not support Carter.
Carter also supported the policy of "self determination of nations" as opposed to outsiders influencing policy through wars and"nation building"-- but yet again, he did not gain support for these ideas.
President Trump now wants rein in spending and corruption in govenment agencies to cut their wasteful budgets and spending for things not related to their missions, and to get the "One World deepstaters OUT" of foregin policy, yet the RINOs oppose him.
President Carter was not perfect and many of the things that happened were his responsibility, but he was a better man than the corrupt NoBama/Vegetable/Kamala Lalas of the current regime of Nobama 3.0

His Secret Service detail knew the real man.
He treated them like dirt and was rude and short-tempered in private.
His habit of carrying his own luggage was just for show, with the bags being empty for the photo op.
He was dismissive and talked down to military personnel. He didn't want military aides to wear uniforms.
He came to the Oval Office early in the morning as a publicity stunt to appear hardworking but would then take naps.
He declared the White House to be "dry" early in his presidency, but reports suggesti that both he and his wife consumed alcohol privately.
He was the "least likeable" president the Secret Service had worked with, due to his insincerity and harsh demeanor behind closed doors.

Good point #22.
Like the misery of Biden to get to the real possibility of an American Renaissance under PDJT, there would have never been a President Reagan, probably the single most influential president of my lifetime, without Mr. Peanut the bringer of gas lines around the block and putting on a sweater.

As part of my quest to visit all of the Presidential Libraries I visited the Carter Library earlier this year. I was impressed by how well the curators managed to put lipstick on his dog of an administration. He was able to die happy knowing that the Delaware Doofus has surpassed him as the worst POTUS since the Civil War. With today's event, another one of my quests, to visit all of the Presidential grave sites, just got bumped up from two to three sites needed for completion: Jimmuh, H.W. Bush, and Ford.

Without Jimma, we would never have gotten the Great Ronaldus Maximus Reagan. And, similarly, without the stolen 2020 election and President-In-Name Only, FJB, we would never have gotten PDJT 2.0!

Some here have already noted some of his odious legacy and others have simply decided to look the other way. I, however, wish to add to the bill of particulars against the man: Let us not forget that Carter engaged in free-lance diplomacy with North Korea -- diplomacy *NOT* approved by the Clinton administration, but the results of which that administration then permitted to become U.S. policy. Result: North Korea today possesses nuclear weapons that it would not otherwise possess. The man died peacefully at age 100. He deserved a Logan Act violation trial and and a lengthy prison sentence -- and a complete rebuke of his free-lance diplomacy. The final chapters of Carter's odious impact on the globe have yet to be written.

I agree that Jimmah was the worst President, up until Zero stole that title, then Zero's puppet the Sniffer in turn stole the Booby Prize from Zero.
But I have to give ol' Jimmah credit for one thing:
Remember that Loudmouth, Pain in the Backside, big-hat-wearing 'Mother-in-Law-from-Hell' Noo Yawk Representative Bella Abzug? After she left the Congress, she got herself appointed to some Government position where she continued to run her big mouth.
I have to credit him.

Mortgages 18 %, gave away the Canal, hours wait for gasoline, inflation thru the roof, 400 hostages taken by Iran, with only a Failed FEEBLE response.
