An environmentalist nonprofit that seeks to cut carbon emissions and promote clean energy is suing to stop the Biden administration from funding a zero-emission power plant.
The Department of Energy (DOE) announced in January that it had approved a $1.1 billion credit payment to the Diablo Canyon Power Plant, a nuclear facility on the central California coast, to provide the plant with a path to avoid its planned shutdown in 2025. Though nuclear power plants produce negligible carbon emissions, Friends of the Earth (FOE), a group seeking to reduce carbon emissions, filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to block the DOE’s funding,

And this secret from Alvin Bragg’s past will leave you speechless.
New York City police officers are speaking out after Alvin Bragg tried to defend a new plan not to prosecute so-called “low-level” criminals because of Bragg’s rugged upbringing on the streets of New York
“Growing up in Harlem in the 1980s, I saw every side of the criminal justice system from a young age,” Bragg’s memo announcing the new plan to let criminals terrorize New Yorkers read.

Before getting into the weeds, here’s the big picture baseline. All documents and records created within the executive branch are created for the benefit of the head of the Executive Branch, the president.
There is no entity, organization, assembly, institution, person or individual, above the President of the United States. The president holds absolute power and absolute immunity. Everyone within the executive branch works at the pleasure of the president, and all work products are created for his administration. This is the plenary power of the president.

It is very easy to find fentanyl in New York. The drug that in 2022 alone killed nearly 110,000 Americans is readily available right here on the streets of this city.
Over the past the year I’ve been investigating the spread of this lethal drug across this country.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid which has a potency many hundreds of times that of morphine.
Largely made in China, its strength means that it is easy to transport huge quantities of the drug. It floods into this country, mainly through Mexico.
One recent evening in New York I headed over to OnPoint – a supervised drug injection site in Washington Heights.

President Joe Biden has repeated a lie about travelling 17,000 miles with the Chinese premier in his latest flubbed speech, where he also referred to the 'O'Biden' administration.
The 81-year-old was giving speaking at a White House event Thursday to mark Greek Independence Day when he repeated the false remarks.
He repeated the long-debunked claim that he had covered the extensive ground during visits with the Chinese President Xi Jinping.

McDonald's was once seen as an affordable spot to eat out but for many Americans it's meals have become a luxury.
In just 10 years, the average cost of a selection of its top menu items has doubled, according to a new study. Some items cost three times as much.
That is more than three times the official rate of inflation - the cost of goods has risen just 31 percent since 2014, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Then, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal and an Oreo McFlurry would set you back less than $8. Now, that combo would cost more than twice that at about $16.50.

Hundreds of federal, state and local Mexican law enforcement have arrived on the border near El Paso, Texas to prevent a migrant caravan with an estimated 2,000 people from reaching the US.
Mexican officials paraded federal immigration agents and other law enforcement officers in front of cameras this week in Juarez, the Mexican city just south of El Paso.
The show of force is part of an on-going agreement between President Joe Biden and Mexico's president for Mexico to do its part in securing the border and has been used in January as well.

Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., recognized as the country’s largest producer of fresh eggs, announced on Tuesday that it has temporarily suspended operations at one of its major facilities located in Parmer County, Texas.
This drastic measure comes in the wake of a detected outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).
The outbreak has led to the culling of approximately 1.6 million laying hens and 337,000 pullets.
This action represents about 3.6% of Cal-Maine Foods’ total flock as of early March 2024, marking a significant loss for the company and the egg industry as a whole.

Biden is currently under political pressure to call for an end to Israel’s military operations in Gaza against Hamas, the terror group responsible for killing over 1,200 civilians on Oct. 7. Biden said during a meeting with Muslim community leaders at the White House on Tuesday that the first lady is now giving him that same pressure, sharing with attendees that she had told him to “stop it,” according to NYT.

Another day, another confused and embarrassing performance from the current White House resident.
Greek Independence Day was the occasion on Thursday, with Joe Biden hosting a reception in the East Room. Why Greek Independence Day is an event worthy of a White House reception wasn't immediately clear, and neither was anything the president said. Right on cue, Biden did his faux Forrest Gump routine where he inserts himself into every aspect of every culture. It's fitting that just two days before this speech, the president repeated a tall tale about being raised by the Puerto Rican community.

The current status of the New York civil fraud case that New York Attorney Letitia James filed against Donald Trump, and that resulted in a huge ruling against him, thanks to Judge Arthur Engoron, is just a little bit of a puzzle. In the short term, Trump is on defense, but the wheels of justice should turn and place him on offense. Understanding that requires us to look at the logic of the law, a subject at once fascinating and exacting and, sometimes, very surprising. The role of logic in law is one of the features of the law that most non-lawyers misunderstand.

In any contest between two or more parties, an impartial referee is often necessary to ensure that the rules are followed fairly.
This includes sports and competitions of all kinds, debates, and yes, even spelling bees in elementary school. Without impartial judges, there is no confidence that the victories were legitimate.
This is why it is such a scandal whenever it is alleged that a referee in a hotly-contested college football championship has made a questionable game-changing call, or when a judge is found to have ties to the defendant that seemingly slants his ruling.

President Biden on Thursday urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toward a cease-fire deal that would release the remaining hostages in Gaza while suggesting that U.S. policy on the war will depend on Israel’s ability to better protect civilians and humanitarian workers after a deadly attack that killed a contingent of international aid workers this week.
Biden spoke with Netanyahu days after an Israeli strike killed several humanitarian aid workers with World Central Kitchen, a charity group that was distributing food to Palestinians in Gaza. The president told Netanyahu the incident was “unacceptable.”

Country star Zach Bryan honored slain New York Police Department (NYPD) officer Jonathan Diller during his concert in Long Island on Saturday night. “I respect and love you guys so much,” the singer said.
“I got some really bad news this morning. Someone told me there was an officer named Jonathan Diller who passed away in the line of duty, and he was from Long Island, right here,” Bryan told concertgoers at UBS Arena while an image of the slain officer was displayed on a jumbotron.“I want to say that it’s heartbreaking, and I can’t even imagine, so I’m gonna try my best to sing this and not mess it up.

Boy, Team Biden and the Democrats really are desperate. In yet another shameless case of lying, some genius in the Biden reelection campaign decided to hack up a recent comment by former President Donald Trump on the campaign trail in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Trump was speaking about Jose Ibarra, the illegal immigrant from Venezuela who murdered Laken Riley in February. "Just a few weeks ago I met with the grieving family of Laken Riley… the 22-year-old nursing student in Georgia who was barbarically murdered by an illegal alien animal. Democrats said please don’t call immigrants ‘animals.’ I said, no, they’re not humans, they’re animals."

The mayor of Athens, Ga., defended the city’s sanctuary policies in a newly released email he sent to the local sheriff two days after an illegal-immigrant allegedly murdered 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley.
Athens mayor Kelly Girtz told Clarke County sheriff John Williams that he endorses non-cooperation policies with detainers issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to emails obtained by Representative Mike Collins (R., Ga.) through the Georgia Open Records Act.
“While the community is experiencing deep trauma right now, and emotions are understandably raw, I support the detainer policy as one that is both humane and following the well-documented propensity of immigrants in the U.S

The Biden administration somewhat quietly announced cuts to next year's base payments to Medicare Advantage plans, adding concerns to an already unstable economic environment.According to multiple reports, the administration will be decreasing that base pay by 0.16 percent, which may not seem like much, but it can have a big impact on enrollees.
What they're saying: "These policies will put even more pressure on the benefits and premiums of 33 million Medicare Advantage beneficiaries who will be renewing their coverage this fall," said Mike Tuffin, CEO of the insurer trade group AHIP.

Conventional wisdom tells us that religious faith is on a downward slope, particularly when it comes to Christianity. Of course, there aren’t many ways to separate nominal Christians from genuine believers when compiling statistics, but many measurements show that Christianity is on the decline in the West. The state of Christianity in Europe can be discouraging. The continent that was once the heart and soul of Christendom is increasingly godless. But is there encouragement on the horizon? One podcaster and writer thinks so.

As previously reported, Ashley Biden, Joe Biden’s youngest daughter, left her diary under a mattress at the Palm Beach rehab home following a stay at a treatment facility. Two individuals who found Ashley Biden’s diary at a halfway house later sold the diary to James O’Keefe and Project Veritas.
In a January 2019 entry, Ashley Biden recalled how she used to shower with her father, Joe Biden, and suggested it may have contributed to a sex addiction.

Former adviser to President George W. Bush Karl Rove warned Donald Trump that the former president’s attitude toward Nikki Haley’s supporters threatens his reelection bid this November.
Rove claimed that with the electoral makeup of the 2024 election so close, Trump should not upset supporters of the former U.N. ambassador because their lack of support for him could benefit President Joe Biden instead. More than 76,000 voters chose Haley in Tuesday night’s Wisconsin primary, representing a significant percentage of voters still not sold on Trump.
“Mr. Trump’s attitude to his rivals’ supporters has gone from dismissiveness—’they always bend the knee’—to indifference, saying he doesn’t need ‘too many’ Haley supporters to win

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released previously hidden reports of facial paralysis and other adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination.
The 780,000 reports were received shortly after the COVID-19 vaccines were rolled out and show that people experienced a wide range of post-vaccination problems, including heart inflammation, miscarriages, and seizures.
“Loss of consciousness and seizure immediately following injection. Went to ER by ambulance,” one person reported.
Another stated, “Diagnosed with Bells Palsy today due to left-sided facial numbness and paralysis.”

Former President Barack Obama’s onetime speechwriter claimed that reports that President Joe Biden is angry over Israel’s airstrike that killed seven aid workers “only make him look weak.”
Jon Favreau said Biden does not deserve credit for being “privately enraged” over the killing of the aid workers because he has not used his position to “leverage” change from the Israeli government to stop its military campaign in Gaza. Biden has received much backlash over his response to the Israel-Hamas war. “The President doesn’t get credit for being ‘privately enraged’ when he still refuses to use leverage to stop the IDF from killing and starving innocent people,” Favreau posted to X

California’s fast food franchisees must hike their minimum wage to $20 an hour under a law Gov. Gavin Newsom (D.) hailed as "extraordinarily beneficial." His own luxury restaurants, meanwhile, are paying their workers less.
Active job listings for Newsom's PlumpJack Cafe, which touts its status as "Lake Tahoe's premier dining destination," advertise "busser," "host," "server," and "food runner" positions with $16 hourly wages. The restaurant is located steps from Palisades Tahoe—California's top ski resort—and features a full bar, fine wines including a $5,300 bottle of Burgundy, and high-priced entrees.

The Biden administration has announced in recent weeks new stringent emissions requirements for virtually the entire American transportation system.
The Environmental Protection Agency will mandate by the year 2035 that virtually every car made and sold in America must be an EV. No more gas cars. The New York Times comically declared that motorists don't have to worry because this "is not a ban on gasoline-powered vehicles." PJ Media, like all independent conservative/populist media outlets, is constantly demonetized by Google.
(Emphasis on “independent; we’re not competing on an even playing field with certain unnamed “conservative” outlets that are boosted in the algorithms via sweetheart Silicon Valley deals and then pretend they are besieged by “cancel culture,” nor are we talking about legacy media behemoths like Fox News that are not throttled in the same manner.) A little definitional housekeeping: by “demonetized,” we mean that any article smeared by the fickle Google gods with this black mark of shame is no longer eligible to host Google ads, which means it cannot generate any ad revenue for the company.

Happy Thursday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) In the twenty-plus years that I've been writing about liberal bias in the mainstream media, I've never seen the hacks work as hard as they have for Joe Biden. Most of their past effort was spent on the character assassination of Republicans. All they had to when His High Holiness the Lightbringer Barack Obama was in office was scream "RACISM!" in response to any criticism of him.
With President LOLEightyonemillion, they've had to create a man and a politician who never existed, then keep that fiction alive. They're still in the character assassination business too.

Should Donald Trump be elected this fall, he should waste no time in reversing Joe Biden’s electric vehicle mandate. Biden not only overstepped his authority, he set the country directly on a course that will bring nothing but trouble.
Acting like the authoritarian that the Democrats and media claim that Donald Trump is, Biden, with a pen and maybe a phone, has ordered through his Environmental Protection Agency to issue a rule that will require Americans to replace their internal-combustion engine automobiles with battery-powered cars. The rule doesn’t

The 2024 general election is in full swing and the presidential candidates are making their case to the nation. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are duking it out on the campaign trail as Americans decide which candidate they will support.
A new Economist/YouGov poll’s findings revealed precisely what the 2024 election will be about. The survey showed that regardless of which side one is on, this race is all about Trump.
Researchers found that about 67 percent of Trump supporters are mostly voting for the former president. Among Democrats, about 52 percent indicated their votes will be against Trump.

Israel faces the prospect of a U.S.-backed “color revolution” in the middle of its war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza as the opposition backs street protests against government, and a key cabinet minister has demanded new elections.
A “color revolution” is a coup d’état accomplished through mass protests targeting the existing government, elected or not, with the assistance of the media — and, usually, with backing from foreign powers, including the United States. For the six months since the October 7 terror attack, Israel had seen remarkable unity, with protests — mostly centered in Tel Aviv — against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial reforms

It was a terrible quake that struck near Hualien City, Taiwan, just as the workday was beginning on Wednesday. Details aren't yet complete but, so far, nine people have been reported killed, over a thousand more injured, and 152 trapped in damaged buildings, quarries, and other places.
At 7.4 on the Richter Scale, the Hualien shifter was three times more powerful and released 5.6 times more energy than the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake that dropped part of San Francisco's elevated Embarcadaro freeway, killed 63 people, and injured 3,757 more.

Oh, I don’t take it personally. It’s just people started to worry about a “population explosion.”
Thanks to antibiotics, vaccines, mosquito eradication and better farming, people weren’t dying off as they had been.
But they were still having babies.
This led to more people.
And quite a few folks — themselves already born — thought that was bad. The most famous is Stanford’s Paul Ehrlich, an entomologist whose bestselling book about people, “The Population Bomb,” promised the Earth a grim Malthusian fate, only a decade or so away.

Time for a new pandemic or other crisis, because it's going to take a lot of rigging to get Joe Biden across the finish line this November.
I'm not making any predictions, mind you. Crises and pandemics can be manufactured on demand these days. It's not like the MSM is above putting its thumbs on the scales to move the needle.
But according to Gallup, Joe Biden's reputation among Americans keeps getting worse, while Trump is still doing pretty well.
There is no mystery about why many Americans hate Trump, but I have to say that after the disastrous 3 years of Biden's presidency I am not
