Tuberculosis cases have been detected at migrant facilities in Chicago following a recent measles outbreak in the city's shelters, sparking health officials to urgently start contact tracing. The Chicago Department of Public Health did not disclose the exact number of cases or which shelter it originated from but confirmed that 'a small number of cases' were reported 'in a few different shelters' around the city. 'These outbreaks happen in close quarters, people who are living close to one another,' associate professor of medicine, Infectious Diseases and Global Health at the University of Chicago Dr. Aniruddha Hazra told Fox 32 Chicago.

Nevertheless TB is usually curable. Why don't the European countries just go park themselves on the Mexican side of the border and set up a kind of Ellis Island and take people away by the hundreds? There are lovely people there. I know some who have gone there, and I miss them and worry and cry. If Europe is depopulating and they want people who are kind of the same thing as they are, why not go to the border? I want the US to keep them but as we are not going to, why not Europe?

A holy pastor turned vigilante who allegedly caught a thief stealing from his church took matters into his own hands by kidnapping the crook and mutilating him with a machete, a South African court heard. Christian Solomon Mhalanga, 58, was enraged when his son Enoch, 20, caught self-confessed criminal Dumisani Mahalngu, 29, on the church grounds in Vosman at dawn. [SNIP] The vigilante pastor, along with his son and four of his faithful flock, then allegedly held him down and placed his hands over a tree branch, where the crook was told he would be taught not to steal again.

Fast food chain McDonald's will buy back all of its Israeli restaurants following a boycott of the brand after it was criticised for giving away thousands of free meals to Israeli soldiers. The move to donate meals to troops was later renounced by McDonald's franchises in some Muslim countries, highlighting the polarized regional politics that global corporations navigate during war. Some Western brands are feeling the impact of boycotts in Egypt and Jordan that have now caught on in some countries outside the Arab region including Muslim-majority Malaysia. The popular chain said it had reached an agreement with franchisee Alonyal for 225 outlets across the country employing 5,000 people.

New York AG Letitia James is raising doubts about the 'sufficiency' of the $175 million bond floated by a California billionaire that allows Donald Trump to go forward with the appeal in his New York fraud case. Trump found a way this week to meet another looming deadline to put up the money for a court judgment against him by obtaining a bond from a company overseen by 'subprime mortgage king' Don Hankey. Hankey told DailyMail.com he approached Trump after hearing about his efforts to obtain bond for a larger $454 million court judgment, then issued the bond for the lower amount after Trump's team came back to him.

Seattle is scrambling to raise the $5,000-a-day hotel costs for 240 asylum seekers who overtook a school play area with tents and foreign flags in a takeover locals called 'threatening.'. Seattle City Council members say they're working with Mayor Bruce Harrell's office to find an emergency solution to the cadre of migrants who camped at Garfield Tennis Courts, part of a community center used by local schools. A $50,000 donation has paid for the migrants and their children to return to the Quality Inn Hotel in Kent, but it's not clear what they will do when the cash for 61 $70-a-night rooms runs out next week.

It is thought Netanyahu's decision to block the channel could affect relations with Qatar, which is playing a crucial role in trying to stop the war in Gaza. The broadcaster responded strongly to Netanyahu's claims, calling them a "dangerous, ludicrous lie", and saying he would be held accountable for the safety of its staff and offices.

But they were still having babies. This led to more people. And quite a few folks — themselves already born — thought that was bad.
