Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., while announcing his 10-point plan to end the plastics pollution crisis, said he would ban fracking.
The process of fracking involves high pressure injections of liquid into underground rocks and layers to open fissures and extract oil or gas.
The United Nations says each year, 19-23 million tons of plastic waste leaks into waterways, polluting rivers, seas, and lakes. [snip] The move would also drive the price of oil above $150 per barrel, while killing state budgets for energy producing states.
It's pretty obvious that he's playing to the Leftist Base at this point... Why would the rest of us like to see gas at $10+ per gallon?

Fracking causes earthquakes. I lived in a small town in OK. They started fracking in the field at the end of the street. We initially felt small tremors and actually got excited - an earthquake! Well they started getting stronger. Houses were developing cracks up the outside wall. Then there was a 5.3 earthquake. That was loud and scary as heck. A couple of days later the fracking equipment left. So did the earthquakes.

He's not a moderate. Unless you compare him to every other demoslut. Then RFK jr. could be considered a moderate.

Robert Kennedy is a Democrat. Never forget that. Just because he says a few things that make us wet our pants in delight, never doubt those things were said intentionally to disarm us. The man is a Kennedy and a snake, he is our enemy.

I bet my high school science teacher could explain it. Robert, Jr., not so much. But he is a nice man. I hope he gets the DNC nod. It that's what he wants.

His positions on "climate change" are too radical. They overshadow anything good he might say. He's still a Democrat and he's still a Kennedy.

These fools will not be happy until we are forced to return to the horse and buggy. But of course, they will exempt themselves from the consequents because people them need their privet jets and go-fast cars.

What I find shocking is that there are contributors on this site who said they would give him consideration. At one time he said global warming caused the earthquakes in Haiti.

How can modern society exist without plastics? From sterile medical supplies to nice clean food preservation there is no substitute. And since hydrocarbons are the only way to produce plastics we’re going to need them. People like RFK are idiots.

Plastic pollution????
Yes. It would be nice if there were not islands of plastic floating in the ocean.
Are they from the USA? No?
If the USA limits its plastic usage, it won't tackle the problem of plastic pollution in other countries.

Like most woke liberal ideas, this would do nothing to solve the ' problem ' of plastic waste. Plastic, or solidified hydrocarbons, is a great resource. Just because the status quo likes to dump everything in a landfill, doesn't mean there are much better ways to handle plastic trash.

Electricity kills a lot of people, do we ban it? Only allow government buildings to have it? If the hundreds of layers of government regulators can't do their job and oversee fracking, fire them and find someone who will. Fracking is bad when shortcuts are taken. Replacing toxic drill mixes with co2 could work for many sites and the others can come back when they have less toxic must mix. Meanwhile, when will RFK figure out that it was only via fracking that the US had any leverage in the energy market?
There is a reason PVC exists and if the railroad can't ship it safely, maybe build the plastic plant next to the chemical plant. Even waste PVC can be safely converted to syngas without chlorine gas problems. IF you make the effort. He likes to ban a lot of practical, useful materials, but his replacement solutions are studies, meeting and treaties, instead of actual hardware using better science than he has bothered to study. Don't get this dope started on tires or you will be walking.

Fellow Okie here, #4. It wasn’t fracking causing our earthquakes. It was high pressure disposal wells. Two different things. The state department of environmental quality has oil companies lower the pressure they were using in this wells, and the quakes subsided.

Re #23, please do some checking. The "great gyre plastic island" is a bigger lie than climate change.
In the DENSEST areas of "plastic pollution" they say it represents a few slivers of plastic crumbs from naturally decaying bottles and such per cubic meter.
Some kid managed to get a good bit of funding from adults and built a "plastic collection" machine to float around and collect "all that plastic".....it was a bust because the amount of plastics actually floating are so very, very little that the machine collected almost nothing significant.

I will forever be thankful to RFK, Jr. for exposing the corruption of Anthony Fauci, the FDA and the CDC, and Big Pharma and for being one of the main — if not the main — person to end the asinine WuFlu hysteria. So thank you, RFK, Jr. And having said that, no, you and your environmental wackiness do not get my vote!

He’s right on the covid shots and possibly all of the other “vaccines” but wrong on everything else.
We have open primaries in my state and, if Trump is a shoe-in, I may vote for RFK just to jerk the demonicrats around a bit.
