By now, most of us have seen the reluctant reporting from media outlets checking in with vehicle dealerships around the United States. Car lots are filled with electric vehicles, many with their original sales prices reduced. Most people simply aren’t interested in purchasing an EV despite any mandates being issued by state governments or the White House. There are various reasons for this, including the high cost of these vehicles (despite generous, taxpayer-funded rebates) and the uncertainty of there being sufficient charging stations to keep them running. Now Ford has seemingly woken up to the reality of the situation. In 2024, they will be drastically cutting their production

If the geniuses ruining Ford were smart, they'd give Briben and Company the finger and ditch EVs all together.

Some friends rented an EV for a road trip last year. How did it go? Let's just say they won't be repeating that mistake any time soon.

It’s a mystery why they’re continuing to build them at all. GM forced their Buick dealers to either invest about $400K to service EV’s or take a buyout. Good luck finding a Buick dealer. Most of them bailed. Whoever is running these Corporations needs a refresh on Business 101.

Sounds like a good start. Trending towards zero would be a good thing.

The Chinese sell EV;s for $5,000 to$20,000. They have the most modern auto factories in the world - and no Unions.
Ford and GMC can't compete. If Washington continues with the EV mandate, auto manufacturing in the USA will cease.

High prices and shortage of charging stations mentioned....NO mention of ridiculously short range and far, far too long time charging.
IMO the short range and long charge times are MORE critical problems than price and charging station numbers. And neither range or charge time can be changed. A Tesla already weighs well over 5,000 pounds when a comparable conventional sedan weighs about 3,000 lbs. So a weight penalty for the huge, heavy batteries is already 2/3 more weight than a normal car, so more batteries are not workable from a weight standpoint, and also from a COST standpoint. We hear about $60K battery replacement costs for some EVs, and $25K for others. So longer range isn't going to happen, both by weight limits and cost limits....and more weight further cuts into range, too. So the first 1,000 lbs of batteries provides more range than the 3rd 1,000 lbs of batteries.
And a bigger battery.....LONGER charging times, directly increasing. Already most "on the go" (not at the owner's home) charging does not fully charge the batteries, to save time, and only goes to about 80% charge......further reducing the real world range of these overblown golf carts when used as anything but a commuter vehicle.

There is currently a battery factory under construction in central Kentucky, just off Interstate 65. Plant #1 is about 50% complete, while plant #2 has been started. The Democrat governor (Herr Andy) is bragging on how many jobs will be created, and how Kentuckians will move up the wage chain in America. Right after the November election, Plant #2 was cancelled.
Question: We've seen news reports of how much water, time, and energy it takes to put out just ONE EV battery fire. What happens if an entire factory goes up in flames? I hope it never happens, but I am picturing an Armageddon like nuclear meltdown

Basically what you see on the road is a bunch of upper-income and wealthy people who can afford to show off their version of concern for the environment.
Then, likely go home search for some product that's made in China, India or a South Eastern country that will be shipped to their door step without any idea of what that carbon footprint entails.

Ford should offer to buy the eV back after 5-10 years for what an equivalent ICE version is worth.

Supply meet demand… Milton Friedman never ruled, he just spelled out how the economy and human nature are the same thing. If the EV scam was so great why does the government have to mandate and subsidize? Also see global warming.
