The liberal New York Times made the case Monday that Republican Herschel Walker has been ostracized from the black community in his small hometown amid his bid to unseat Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) in the race for U.S. Senate in Georgia. Times reporter John Branch, who is based in California, used mostly anonymous sources and anecdotes from visiting Walker’s hometown of Wrightsville to generalize that feelings that Walker, a Georgia football legend, is not in touch with the black community are “flowering ahead of November’s election.” “Herschel’s not getting the Black vote because Herschel forgot where he came from. … He’s not part of the Black community,” Branch quotes
Political theories are debatable. As much as America First patriots would love to think we’re unambiguously right on everything, there are many who hear the arguments from the other end of the spectrum and believe they are right and we are wrong.

The subpoenas have been part of a so-called “fake electors” inquiry into alternate slates of electors prepared by Trump supporters after the 2020 election.
The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a legal challenge to the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for health-care workers at facilities that receive federal funds.

Jareh Sebastian Dalke, a 30-year-old Army veteran of Colorado Springs, Colorado, worked at the NSA as an information systems security designer from June 6 to July 1, 2022. According to the DOJ, Dalke used an encrypted email account to transmit excerpts of three classified documents he had obtained during his employment to an undercover FBI agent disguised as a representative of a foreign government.

In June, a Golden/TIPP Poll (TIPP is Issues & Insights’ polling partner) asked Americans if “There is a two-tiered system of justice in America depending on your political affiliation and ideology?” At the time, a sizable majority of 63% agreed, either “strongly” (28%) or “somewhat” (35%), with that statement. Only 17% disagreed, while 21% said they were “not sure.”

Latest case in point: A gay couple has filed a class-action complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) against the City of New York, suing for unlawful workplace discrimination because they were denied coverage for fertility services. If successful, health insurance nationally may eventually be required to pay for IVF/surrogacy services for male gay couples. For all the hubbub about the Hunter Biden laptop, there has been little talk about the laptop owned by DNC data analyst Seth Rich. In the way of brief summary, the 27-year-old Rich was beaten and then shot by unknown assailants on a Washington, D.C. street in the early morning hours of July 10, 2016. His attackers appear to have taken nothing—not his wallet, not his phone, not his watch.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) wanted regulatory reform, in part to reverse some of the Biden Administration reversals of Trump era reforms intended to expedite permits for fossil fuel projects.
Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) needed Manchin’s vote in the 50-50 Senate to enact his latest spending extravaganza, the Inflation Reduction Act, which was primarily a massive climate and “green” energy subsidy arrangement. It gives Schumer allies some $370 billion in wind, solar, battery and other funding, tax credits and subsidies. In exchange, Schumer would offer a path for Manchin’s reform bill.
After nearly four years and millions of wasted taxpayer funds, U.S District Judge Steve C. Jones ruled on Friday that Georgia’s election practices had violated neither the Constitution nor the Voting Rights Act (VRA) during the 2018 gubernatorial election. Shortly after losing that election to Republican Brian Kemp, Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams famously blamed her loss on voter suppression and filed a federal lawsuit against Georgia’s Secretary of State and Election Board via her advocacy group, Fair Fight Action, Inc. Judge Jones finally put the Peach State out of its misery by ruling in favor of Georgia on all counts.
Republican Tiffany Smiley is closing in on incumbent Democrat Senator Patty Murray. It’s causing so much consternation that The Seattle Times is smearing Smiley much earlier than anticipated.
David Gutman wrote an editorial smearing Smiley. But the paper presents it as a news feature. The article frames Smiley’s campaign as focused on what Gutman strains to claim is a misleading criticism of Seattle. He calls it “an old GOP tactic” in the biased headline. The smear was one of many picked up by Democrat politicians and party leaders to attack Smiley. That was the intent. Seattle Times, Democrats pretend all is well in Seattle
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which is still led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, issued a $3.3 million grant to a research organization run by Fauci's close friend.
The new study will investigate bats and other coronaviruses in the wild and will run until August 2027.
The organization conducting the study, EcoHealth Alliance, is run by Peter Daszak, who is known to be close to Fauci.
In the summer of 2021, emails between Fauci and Daszak leaked. In one, Daszak appeared to express gratitude to Fauci for downplaying the theory that Covid-19 was created in a lab in Wuhan, China.

President Biden thanked a U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer for saving lives as Hurricane Ian battered Florida, a service member who will be discharged for not having a COVID-19 vaccine, according to a report. Biden called several members of the Coast Guard over the phone, including Technician Second Class Zach Loesch, and thanked them for rescuing people on the southwest Florida coast in Fort Myers and Naples.
"I told him how proud of him I was and thanked him for all the work he and his Coasties are doing to save lives," Biden said of his call with Loesch in remarks the White House published Friday.

To this point, the US Senate race in Pennsylvania has taken top billing in election-related discussions. Republican Mehmet Oz had closed the gap with Democrat John Fetterman to make it a true toss-up as the latter’s health issues have started to weigh on the electorate. But there’s another race going on that is not only just as big but appears to be favoring the GOP in a way that could ultimately deliver control of the Senate. I’m talking about Nevada, where Republican Adam Laxalt is facing off against Democrat incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez-Mastro.
Sunday delivered another round of fresh polling, and Republicans are winning across the board.
