MSNBC's Rev. Al Sharpton said Monday that Democrats are having a hard time "connecting" and that former President Donald Trump and abortion were the only reasons they were "in the game." "The question is are Democrats doing what it makes to keep those who have loyally voted Republican, are Democratic voting Democratic because right now, you have people of color breaking away from the Democratic Party and you have white college educated suburban voters breaking away from Republicans, so it’s creating a real flux," "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough said. Sharpton said the concern among the Congressional Black Caucus was about how they're connecting the "base to the message."

Former President Donald Trump has asked the Supreme Court to intervene in the dispute over materials marked as classified the FBI seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate this summer.
His emergency request with the Supreme Court is the latest example of the former President seeking to involve the justices in investigations that entangle him – at a time when the high court’s legitimacy in politically explosive cases is under intense scrutiny.
Trump is specifically asking the court to ensure that the more than 100 documents marked as classified are part of the special master’s review. The request, if granted, could bolster the former President’s attempt to challenge the search in court
Elon Musk has sent Twitter a letter proposing to buy the social-media company for his original offer price of $54.20 a share, after spending months trying to back out of the initial deal, according to a new report.
Sources told Bloomberg News Musk has offered to buy Twitter, just weeks before he was set to appear in court to fight a lawsuit the company filed over his efforts to pull out of the $44 billion deal.
Twitter’s stock price briefly shot up as high as 18 percent on the news before trading was suspended. Musk first began trying to pull the plug on the deal in July.
On Monday evening's edition of CNN Tonight, Republican political strategist and CNN commentator Scott Jennings did some well-deserved mocking of the leftist media's cries of illegitimacy when it comes to the institution of the Supreme Court. He chalked their constant kvetching to the fact that they're "just mad that they're not getting their way every time." Since the media is dominated by leftists, that's not surprising. For all their talk of democracy, the democratic institutions in the United States are only legitimate when they work at the left's behest.
The latest Monmouth University poll released on Monday showed that there had been a massive ten-point swing from August to September in favor of Republicans controlling Congress after the midterms.

Jonathan Capehart, a Washington Post columnist and MSNBC host, is arguing that Democrats need to retake the high ground on patriotism. It really bugs him that people associate patriotism with Republicans, while it is the Democrats who are the real patriots.
Yeah right. I have no idea why anybody would think that Democrat leaders and commentators aren’t patriotic. Maybe because of statements like this: Capehart’s argument is not uncommon, of course. Democrats have been frustrated by the fact that Republicans have been more successful with patriotic messaging than they since at least the 60’s. The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a legal challenge to the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for health-care workers at facilities that receive federal funds.
The justices rejected an appeal submitted by the plaintiffs, including ten mostly Republican-controlled states, after a lower court declined to hear their petition. The vast majority of health-care workers nationwide, 10.4 million, are subject to the mandate, although there are medical and religious exemptions.
In January, the court struck down President Biden’s vaccine requirement for private sector companies with 100 or more employees but it preserved the health-care-worker mandate pending litigation at the lower court level.

Part of the DOJ response was to attach a draft of the letter for Strzok’s firing to show he wasn’t fired for political reasons. The letter is a brutal takedown, outlining how bad what Strzok did was and how much it hurt the reputation of the FBI, according to Bowdich.
