In June, a Golden/TIPP Poll (TIPP is Issues & Insights’ polling partner) asked Americans if “There is a two-tiered system of justice in America depending on your political affiliation and ideology?” At the time, a sizable majority of 63% agreed, either “strongly” (28%) or “somewhat” (35%), with that statement. Earth’s climate is always changing. But despite the warming hysterics’ wild claims, it’s not changing at an alarming rate. Remember, when they cite United Nations reports warning of soaring temperatures and rising sea levels, the projections cover many decades, not just a few years. Of course there was a moment when the climate did change rapidly. It was so long ago, though, none of us can remember it.
Yet it happened. Many centuries before the first oil well was drilled. Almost 1,500 years ago.

But something intervened
The day after Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida, President Joe Biden issued his forecast: “This could be the deadliest hurricane in Florida’s history.” Was he hoping it would be? Or is he just ignorant of the history of hurricanes?
“The numbers are still unclear,” Biden said, “but we’re hearing early reports of what could be substantial loss of life.”
So far, the death toll in Florida from Ian is a little more than 20. That number will no doubt rise, but it is far short of the deadliest, and might be one of the least deadly hurricanes to hit that hurricane-prone state.

Democrats have been trying to scare voters for months. A Republican victory, they shout, will mean the rise of semi-fascism! Women will be shackled to their birthing beds! Democracy itself is at stake!
None of it has worked. Despite endless news reports about how Democrats’ chances in the midterms were improving, the needle just isn’t moving.
So, will they try to run on their record of “accomplishment”? Brent Budowsky, a columnist for The Hill, says they should. In a piece headlined: “A closing message for Democrats to win,” he says they just need to ask voters:

The latest example of this come from Italy’s Giorgia Meloni, a passionate partisan of God, family, culture, and life, whose right-leaning coalition won Italy’s national election in a landslide, despite threats from the EU.
“If things go in a difficult direction, I’ve spoken about Hungary and Poland, we have tools,” European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said, in what can only be called a threat.
Did the Aug. 8 raid on former President Donald Trump’s Florida home damage his electoral chances for 2024 and those of the Republican Party in the upcoming midterm elections? Data from the recent I&I/TIPP Poll suggest the answer is no.
First of all, comparison data from the I&I/TIPP Polls (one taken of 1,182 registered voters online from August 2-4, the other of 1,145 voters from September 7-9) show that those who thought the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate would badly tarnish his image in the public eye and damage his future prospects were likely wrong.

Nobody has yet come up with a definitive estimate of the full taxpayer cost of President Joe Biden’s student loan bailout, but the numbers are already staggering. And as budget-busting as this one is, it’s only whetted the Left’s appetite for more loan bailouts.

Another Climate Week has come and gone, with Earth no cooler than it was before. But there is plenty to celebrate. Opportunities for virtue signaling, graft, prostituting science, and burning down capitalism have never been so vast.

When New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie wrote a love letter of sorts to Donald Trump and his “soft edges and eccentricity,” it didn’t take long for people to see this for what it is: an opening salvo by the press to start demonizing the next Republican.
In his column, Bouie coos about how Trump is “funny, he has stage presence, and he has a kind of natural charisma. He can be a bully in part because he can temper his cruelty and egoism with the performance of a clown or a showman. He can persuade an audience that he’s just kidding — that he doesn’t actually mean it.”

The storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6 by Trump supporters has been characterized by liberals in the usual hysterical — if not psychotic — overtones that is one of the characteristics of fanatics. And we are most definitely in the midst of a totalitarian movement.
Jan. 6 has been likened to the War of 1812, the American Civil War, to the present war in Ukraine, to 9/11, and (need you ask?) to the Holocaust. CNN’s Anderson Cooper, with a straight face, even referred it as the equivalent of the Bosnian and Rwandan genocides. [snip] At any rate, I have a different take on the Jan. 6 “insurrection.”

No doubt, President Joe Biden and his advisers believed student-loan forgiveness would be a big winner in the upcoming midterm elections. If so, it was a political miscalculation, with most Americans rejecting the idea as unfair and a political stunt, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.

Therefore, devoted future doctors in Minnesota are pledging to wokeness and a complete righting of the world’s wrongs.

Jonathan Capehart, a Washington Post columnist and MSNBC host, is arguing that Democrats need to retake the high ground on patriotism. It really bugs him that people associate patriotism with Republicans, while it is the Democrats who are the real patriots.
Yeah right. I have no idea why anybody would think that Democrat leaders and commentators aren’t patriotic. Maybe because of statements like this: Capehart’s argument is not uncommon, of course. Democrats have been frustrated by the fact that Republicans have been more successful with patriotic messaging than they since at least the 60’s.
