Unity Day on Monday will mark 32 years since East and West Germany were reunited after the fall of the Berlin Wall. A three-day festival in the city of Erfurt is being held in the shadow of the Ukraine war. Germany began three days of celebrations on Saturday to mark the reunification in October 1990 of the country's East and West, a year after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Three days of unification ceremonies and three nights in the cold and damp. How far they’ve come but it’s looking as if they were all East Germans at heart and still are. I lived in Bavaria for a few years and loved it but the people are ein bischon strange and distant and are, l as well, haughty towards Americans. To some extent our frequent ill-advised military adventurism earns us a lack of respect from war weary Europeans.

This ought to have marked the very "end" of WW2. WIth that the US should have withdrawn from Europe, allowing the Euros to defend their flank of NATO while we watched the western flank. But, no, we hung around...and now our troops sit in Romania waiting for an excuse to join in the Ukraine-Russia war that involved no national interest of ours. Worse, there is the threat of nuclear arms use. Ready for that? Don't forget, Putin is a madman...and those annexed territories are now "Russian" in his mind...

I guess Deutschland had to do something to pull group think away from the prospect of freezing in the dark this winter. All due to the self-inflicted energy crisis brought on by Klaus and his Great Reset crowd.

Celebrating the day the Communists started their mass takeover of the German political system. And they have basically run the German government ever since. Merkel was born and raised a hard core pure Communist, and clearly never changed as she ran the country into the left ditch and was re-elected time after time after time.

Most Germans will celebrate the end of the National Socialist (NAZI) era and eventual reunification of their country in the Oktoberfest beer tents without a worry, that is before Russia freezes them to death by asymmetrical warfare tactics in the upcoming winter.

To help your happy celebration Russian Soviets send you a freezing winter. German forests are marked for harvest of 'firewood' just like in the good old days. You can all be like Dr. Zhivago burning your wooden fences for warmth. Happy celebration to all.

The midterm elections are weeks away and OPEC+ is threatening to cut oil production. That’s not good news for you, the consumer; it’s also not good news for President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats. Biden’s bump up in the polls over the past few months tracked declining gasoline prices. For nearly 100 days, gas prices went down. They peaked at a record high of more than $5 per gallon in June and reached a low of $3.67. Now, at $3.80, they have begun to head back up. According to the Real Clear Politics average of polls, Joe Biden’s "disapprove" rating peaked at the end of June

A Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Washington faced a lawsuit from the Seattle Seahawks for using the team’s corporate logo in one of her campaign advertisements. Tiffany Smiley’s "Gameday" ad ran in early September illustrating how President Biden and her opponent Democrat Sen. Patty Murray have hurt families with rising costs at the grocery store for everyday food items like hot dogs and eggs. When Smiley mentioned the rising cost of beer, her husband John asks, "Are you kidding me?" Scotty Smiley was wearing a Seahawks jersey that briefly appeared to show the blue, gray and green associated with the NFL team. Retired Maj. Smiley was the first blind active-duty soldier

A top-of-the-line Russian nuclear-powered submarine has gone missing from its harbor in the Arctic along with its rumored "doomsday weapon," according to multiple reports. NATO has reportedly warned members that Russia's Belgorod submarine no longer appeared to be operating out of its White Sea base, where it has been active since July. Officials warned that Russia may plan to test Belgorod's "Poseidon" weapons system, a drone equipped with a nuclear bomb that Russia has claimed is capable of creating a "radioactive tsunami," according to Italian media.

“Literally,” President Joe Biden said at a Democratic fundraiser last week, “there’s a case being made around the world, not just here, because democracy and autocracy.” That wasn’t even a sentence, but you get the idea. He continued, “You just saw what’s happened in Italy in that election. You’re seeing what’s happening around the world. The reason I bother to say that is, you can’t be sanguine about what’s happening here either.” In insinuating that democracy is under attack because of a healthy democratic election result, Biden was not just spouting his typical divisive rhetoric. He was leveling a direct insult at a foreign ally — Giorgia Meloni

Native American tribes that rely on fossil fuel production across the nation reiterated their demand that the Biden administration allow them to develop the resources on their lands. Tribal leaders and energy experts contacted by Fox News Digital criticized efforts to restrict oil, gas and coal production even as those resources sustain thousands of Native Americans's way of life. The Department of the Interior has repeatedly expressed support for boosting tribal sovereignty for Indigenous tribes, but has also pursued a climate agenda limiting fossil fuel production on federal lands and waters. Republican Tiffany Smiley is closing in on incumbent Democrat Senator Patty Murray. It’s causing so much consternation that The Seattle Times is smearing Smiley much earlier than anticipated. David Gutman wrote an editorial smearing Smiley. But the paper presents it as a news feature. The article frames Smiley’s campaign as focused on what Gutman strains to claim is a misleading criticism of Seattle. He calls it “an old GOP tactic” in the biased headline. The smear was one of many picked up by Democrat politicians and party leaders to attack Smiley. That was the intent. Seattle Times, Democrats pretend all is well in Seattle

More than one-third of Americans said it was somewhat or very difficult to pay for household expenses, according to a recent U.S. Census Bureau survey. Jonathan Capehart, a Washington Post columnist and MSNBC host, is arguing that Democrats need to retake the high ground on patriotism. It really bugs him that people associate patriotism with Republicans, while it is the Democrats who are the real patriots. Yeah right. I have no idea why anybody would think that Democrat leaders and commentators aren’t patriotic. Maybe because of statements like this: Capehart’s argument is not uncommon, of course. Democrats have been frustrated by the fact that Republicans have been more successful with patriotic messaging than they since at least the 60’s. Kennedy clearly was very patriotic with his messaging, but ever since Democrats have been associated
