Washington — During a campaign-style Friday speech at a Democratic National Committee event in Washington, President Joe Biden boasted about the three-month decline in gas prices and about the unemployment rate. But he used inaccurate figures on both subjects. (Snip) Facts First: Biden’s claim about average gasoline prices was false, as the White House acknowledged by correcting the official transcript after CNN inquired about the claim on Friday afternoon. In fact, zero states have an average price under $2.99 per gallon, figures from GasBuddy and the American Automobile Association show. As the correction notes, Biden got a key digit wrong:

The polls in Nevada are coming in hot! Adam Laxalt, the GOP challenger for Senate, is sustaining a lead against the incumbent, vulnerable Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto. Laxalt was previously elected as Nevada Attorney General. Three polls reported Thursday show Laxalt leading the race. The Insider Advantage Poll has Laxalt up by nearly three points: 45.9 percent to 43 percent. Independent voters preferred Laxalt 55.1 percent to Masto’s 24.2 percent. While Masto continues to lean into her Mexican ancestry and continues to note she is the first Latina in the US Senate, Hispanic voters aren’t biting. Among non-white voters, mostly Latinos in Nevada Laxalt bested Masto again,

Italy is expected to elect its first far-right leader since Benito Mussolini when the nationalist Giorgia Meloni is swept into power on Sunday's vote. The Brothers of Italy leader has been dominating the polls despite a number of gaffes in her campaign, which saw her forced to suspend a party candidate for praising Hitler and a close associate accused of performing a Nazi salute. London - Britain's new finance minister Kwasi Kwarteng unleashed historic tax cuts and huge increases in borrowing on Friday in an economic agenda that floored financial markets, with sterling and British government bonds in freefall. Kwarteng scrapped the country's top rate of income tax, cancelled a planned rise in corporate taxes and for the first time put a price tag on the spending plans of Prime Minister Liz Truss, who wants to double Britain's rate of economic growth. Investors unloaded short-dated British government bonds as fast as they could, with the cost of borrowing over 5 years seeing its biggest one-day rise since 1991, as Britain raised its debt issuance

When you watch the local news, you may feel less safe in your community. You aren’t alone. Under the Biden administration, we’ve experienced the deadliest years for violent crime and drug overdoses. Just as we see the rule of law breaking down in our cities, we’re seeing it break down on our border.

Team Elton John reached out to President Joe Biden's administration to ask if he could play at the White House despite Donald Trump's long admiration for the singer and his attempt to get him to play his inauguration. While the current first couple are fans, Biden's predecessor in the White House, Donald Trump, long considered John a personal friend and was reported to be 'obsessed' with him. 'His team expressed an interest on his behalf,' a White House official said of John, who will perform on the South Lawn on Friday night.

Anyone who listened to Vladimir Putin’s TV broadcast to his nation on September 21 had to be shocked by the Russian leader’s tone, incoherence and threat. US President Joe Biden, in a speech to the UN General Assembly, only made matters worse, not better, by putting all of the burden unequivocally on Putin’s head. There are many impacts from these events, including the bitter possibility of a wider war that will spill over into Europe.

Just over a week ago, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s Minnesota duck-hunting getaway was abruptly interrupted when a team of FBI agents rolled up to a Hardee’s parking lot and surrounded him in the drive-thru line as if he was an ordinary fugitive and seized his mobile phone. The incident sparked intense backlash online, with many remarking that the FBI is — once again — being used as a political weapon. As a result of the cell phone seizure debacle, soon after, Lindell announced a lawsuit against President Joe Biden’s DOJ and the FBI, challenging the seizure and insisting that his “First, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments” were violated.

The day before yesterday, amid all the United Nations festivities, Joe Biden was addressing the Global Fund's Seventh Replenishment Conference in New York. The event was organized to raise funds to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. Biden ended his speech by thanking all the participants for their contributions. Biden had managed the challenging part of the exercise, reading off the teleprompter devoid of major gaffes. All he had to do was exit the stage into a safe zone away from prying eyes and camera lenses. Anyone with functioning cognitive abilities could achieve this with ease; alas that wasn't the case with Biden.

Reports that Russia may mobilize one million men to prosecute its faltering war to crush Ukraine means that the great human tragedy and military conflagration there is highly likely to continue. “The hidden 7th paragraph of the Russian President’s decree on partial mobilisation allows the Ministry of Defence of Russia to mobilise 1 million people, a source in Vladimir Putin’s administration has informed the news outlet Novaya Gazeta.Europe.” No matter how hastily trained, poorly armed or badly led such conscripts are, the introduction of such large numbers will inevitably expand the scale of the current war in terms of death, destructiveness and escalation potential.

With our border crisis worsening by the day, President Joe Biden is throwing up his hands and letting everyone know that whatever’s at fault, it’s not his terrible policies. His latest nonsense? The claim we’re seeing a border surge because “these people are fleeing communism” in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua. No: Migrants from those countries account for 27% of August encounters with Customs and Border Patrol. They’re an increasing share of the total — but it would still be at record levels without them. And the reason for the surge from all nations is that Team Biden is (in some cases quite literally) waving migrants in

It's not an unfamiliar forecast for the region, where cold temperatures and natural gas pipeline constraints have a record of driving supply tightness, and thereby driving prices up, during cold winter months. But this year, those pipeline constraints are overlaid by extremely competitive energy markets globally and fuel commodity prices that are already higher than normal going into winter. That's led to warnings that $1,000 monthly
