Shocking Behavior by Putin and Biden

Original Article

Posted By: JackBurton, 9/23/2022 10:24:53 AM

Anyone who listened to Vladimir Putin’s TV broadcast to his nation on September 21 had to be shocked by the Russian leader’s tone, incoherence and threat. US President Joe Biden, in a speech to the UN General Assembly, only made matters worse, not better, by putting all of the burden unequivocally on Putin’s head. There are many impacts from these events, including the bitter possibility of a wider war that will spill over into Europe.

Comments:

This article points out that good, strong leadership is necessary to prevent a wider war (and, hey, freezing Europe this winter) and is totally absent in Russia AND the U.S. Good list of negotiables towards the end.

"Let’s be frank – the US has to support a deal. The US never supported the Minsk accords, but it should have done so. The Biden administration must now act responsibly in this moment of extreme crisis." Well, what is US policy regarding Russia? For the last decade, it has been to weaken Russia whenever an opportunity arose. It started (with Syria) under Obama and has Republican blessing. Both sides are waiting for the other side to blink and back down. So far that hasn't happened. Neither side is looking for peace at this point. Is there a point where Russia retaliates? So far, it appears the United States doesn't think Russia will do anything. Just look and see how far things have gone in Ukraine and realize this is incorrect.

The Democratic Party released its official platform on Sunday night, to be voted on at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois — and it calls for reelecting President Joe Biden, who was still the candidate at the time the document was finalized in mid-July. “President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats are running to finish the job,” it says. (...) The Democratic platform claims Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have achieved enormous progress for Americans, and that Donald Trump “is rigging our economy for his Mar-a-Lago friends and billionaire donors, who like him, are only in it for themselves.”

For quite some time, Congress has ceded its constitutional power to legislate to the unelected administrative state -- at least when Democrats are both the congressional majority and hold the White House. Now, having ignored its true function, it seeks to expand its mandate to judicial powers. The Select Committee set up by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to investigate the January 6 riot has obviously determined that its mandate does not require a legislative purpose: It will act as a judicial branch, ...

According to an Aug. 19 post on Truth Social, the president believes that museums are the “last remaining segment of ‘WOKE,’” and he wants to address the issue the same way his administration has treated colleges and universities. Trump pointed specifically to a Washington, D.C., icon as a demonstration of the issue, saying, “The Smithsonian is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been—Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future.”

Like many businesses, Bed, Bath & Beyond is fleeing California. Unlike most, however, it's not slinking out quietly. It's letting the world know why it got the hell out of Dodge. In a publicly issued statement, its executive chairman, Marcus Lemonis, wrote: We will not open or operate retail stores in California. This decision isn’t about politics — it’s about reality. California has created one of the most overregulated, expensive, and risky environments for businesses in America. It’s a system that makes it harder to employ people, harder to keep doors open, and harder to deliver value to customers. The result?

The Appellate Division, First Department overturned the whopping fine in the case in which Trump, 78, was found to have fraudulently inflated his net worth by billions of dollars over a decade to get better loan and insurance terms. Trump would have had to pay a total of more than $500 million, including more than $100 million in interest, had the February 2024 ruling from Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron been upheld. As Muslim migration roils Europe, some Catholic bishops are starting to notice. “For decades, the Islamization of Europe has been progressing through mass immigration,” Polish Bishop Antoni Długosz said July 13, adding that illegal immigrants “create serious problems in the countries they arrive in.” Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Kazakhstan spoke more bluntly in March: “We’re witnessing an invasion. They are not refugees. This is an invasion, a mass Islamization of Europe.” Yet Pope Leo XIV lives in a different dimension. “In a world darkened by war and injustice . . . migrants and refugees stand as messengers of hope,” Leo said July 25.

The border wall separating the United States and Mexico is being painted black to make it too hot for migrants to climb. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem revealed the project was a specific request from Donald Trump as the president celebrated 'ZERO releases' of illegal migrants into the country. 'In the hot temperatures down here, when something is painted black it gets even warmer,' Noem said during a press conference in front of the wall on Tuesday. She noted the structure is already hard to climb and near impossible to dig under, but said Trump's latest measure will help to secure the American border even further.
