Washington — During a campaign-style Friday speech at a Democratic National Committee event in Washington, President Joe Biden boasted about the three-month decline in gas prices and about the unemployment rate. But he used inaccurate figures on both subjects. (Snip) Facts First: Biden’s claim about average gasoline prices was false, as the White House acknowledged by correcting the official transcript after CNN inquired about the claim on Friday afternoon. In fact, zero states have an average price under $2.99 per gallon, figures from GasBuddy and the American Automobile Association show. As the correction notes, Biden got a key digit wrong:

Comments:

Multiple lies. Gas prices have noticeably risen this week and were never as low as he claimed except for the first few weeks he was in office.

Going up here and spiking again in CA. The MSM will try to cover for him but millions buy gasoline every day and this cannot be hidden. We also buy groceries every week. I have said for years that the media in this country are our real enemies. Without their outright lying and carrying water for the left, most Dems couldn’t get elected as dog catchers.

Gas is down because the American public has pulled way back on their purchases of gasoline. And FJB has raped our petroleum reserve resources which is a national security issue. We know what is going on. FJB and all the rest of them.

Gas prices will spike right after the election because that's when the draw down from the strategic oil reserves ends. Disgusting using our emergency reserves as a campaign tool to keep prices down. $5 a gallon gas by Xmas.

It is diesel prices that are driving inflation. Crops are harvested and transported, goods are transported using diesel trucks and trains. That increased cost is a major part of the current inflation. Joe Biteme is doing nothing to decrease diesel prices.

Of course gas prices are going to skyrocket after the election. And so are prices of heating oil, just wait until cold weather hits and people get a load of THOSE bills. Isn't much of the northeast heated by oil? Interesting.

The Joetard has always been a lying POS even when he was somewhat coherent. Now that his brain is slowing slipping back into forever being in first gear even more so. The only reason why prices are the way they are is that destructive moron has been tapping into our Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). He has crippled our ability to get our own oil our of our ground by throwing wads of red tape to the oil industry. Then their tree hugging, tofu eating, bare foot through the dirt walking supporters run ads lying about how the evil oil companies are responsible for We the People paying through the nose for gas. It's would be funny if it wasn't so disastrous to our way of life. FJB LET'S GO BRANDON!

California finds itself on edge more than ever with a lingering fear: the threat of rolling blackouts for years to come. Despite new power plants, building huge battery storage systems and restarting some shuttered fossil fuel generators over the past couple of years, California relies heavily on energy from other states — the cavalry rushing over a distant hill. Sometimes the support does not show up when expected or at all. That was the case this month, when millions of residents got cellphone alerts urging them to cut their energy use as the state teetered close to blackouts in blazing heat.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A U.S. Coast Guard ship on routine patrol in the Bering Sea came across a guided missile cruiser from China, officials said Monday. But it turned out the cruiser wasn’t alone as it sailed about 86 miles (138 kilometers) north of Alaska’s Kiska Island, on Sept. 19. Two other Chinese naval ships and four Russian naval vessels, including a destroyer, were spotted in single formation, the patrol boat, known as a cutter called Kimball, discovered. The Honolulu-based Kimball, a 418-foot (127-meter) vessel, observed as the ships broke formation and dispersed. A C-130 Hercules provided air support for

California is committing to a plan that will make it the first US state to phase out gas-fueled furnaces and water heaters in homes, a move environmentalists are betting will provide a template for other states. The Golden State will ban the sale of all new natural gas-fired space heaters and water heating appliances by 2030, under a proposal unanimously approved by the California Air Resources Board on Thursday. “We’re really hopeful that this is the beginning of a domino effect and other states will follow California’s lead,” said Leah Louis-Prescott, a senior associate at RMI , a non-profit focused

New England is approaching what grid officials and utility executives expect to be a very pricey winter for energy consumers and one that risks a shortage of energy during extended periods of extreme cold. It's not an unfamiliar forecast for the region, where cold temperatures and natural gas pipeline constraints have a record of driving supply tightness, and thereby driving prices up, during cold winter months. But this year, those pipeline constraints are overlaid by extremely competitive energy markets globally and fuel commodity prices that are already higher than normal going into winter. That's led to warnings that $1,000 monthly

The good news for President Biden is that his national approval rating is on the rise, including in our recent NBC News poll (where it inched up from 42% in August to 45% this month among registered voters). It struck me as beyond belief that two dozen or so armed FBI agents would swarm the house of a Catholic father of seven, rifles drawn, and arrest him in front of his weeping children for anything short of murder. I have had to recalibrate my belief system. The “crime” fell quite a bit short of murder. Special Counsel John Durham continues to ignore the FBI’s malfeasance in the Crossfire Hurricane targeting of Donald Trump, a Friday court filing by prosecutors in the criminal case against Igor Danchenko confirms. While that approach may have been prudent and in the country’s best interests three and a half years ago, when then-Attorney General Bill Barr tasked Durham to investigate the origins of the Russia collusion hoax, it is no longer judicious. The special counsel’s failure to appreciate this reality threatens the government’s case against Danchenko, but more significantly has spurred the Biden administration, the D.C. deep state, and partisan state officials to further weaponize the criminal justice system
