Google's CEO has told his staff 'not to equate money with fun' while addressing cost-cutting measures that would see 'modest' holiday parties this year at the tech giant. Sundar Pichai told employees angered about recent cuts to travel and entertainment budgets, as well as potential layoffs, that the company was preparing for tough economic times, according to leaked audio of a company meeting obtained by CNBC. 'We shouldn't always equate fun with money,' Pichai, who makes an estimated 6.3 million dollars in salary per year and estimated worth is $1.31 billion, told employees upset at losing their perks.(Snip)'I think we're just working through a tough moment macroeconomically,

Comments:

Woke employees of this radical leftist company whose purpose is to data-mine citizens on behalf of the US government should welcome this news, seeing how they pressed to get Dung sElected, and also agree that we'll own nothing and be happy. Meanwhile, how much money would Sundar Pichai be hauling in back in Tamil Nadu?

"modest holiday parties this year" This is an OUTRAGE! Why would anyone work in such an atmosphere of disrespect! What will these wage slaves have stolen from them next, their free lunches, their free cooking classes, their free haircuts, their onsite laundromats, their free gym memberships? Like I said it's an OUTRAGE!

I never had a job with perks and, quite frankly, never understood the system. I understand a salesperson having a company provided car and expense account. I just don't get the gym memberships, free lunches, cooking classes and such stuff. Isn't that why a person is paid a salary? To provide those things for themselves? These pampered princes and princesses of the tech world need a few lessons in reality. The irony is the FJB regime they voted in are going to be the people who will give them those lessons. If it wasn't going to be so painful for the rest of us, it would be downright the most enjoyable show of all time.

When the company starts losing money, the perks that do not contribute to the bottom line are the first to go. They can whine all they want. Just wait until the company announces that there will be no raises/bonuses and cuts back on benefits.

For more than a decade, W. Broadway and N. Lyndale Avenue has been one of the most dangerous corners in Minneapolis. A half-mile radius surrounding the North Side intersection, home to the embattled Merwin Liquors and a Winner Gas station known as the "murder station," is where nearly one out of every 10 killings citywide has taken place since 2010, according to a Star Tribune analysis.(Snip) This month, Attorney General Keith Ellison announced his office will investigate whether the business owners are "turning a blind eye" to the chronic violence. Crime is getting so bad in Bay Ridge that residents of the Brooklyn neighborhood are putting up their own “wanted” posters. One irate parent recently put an alleged pervert on blast in a do-it-yourself poster they hung at the 95th Street subway station, complete with a photo of a man in gray sweats and a black T-shirt. The grammatically-challenged caption read: “Beware Ladies This Piece of S–t Grab My Daughters Ass” and “Hey Motherf–ker I’m Looking For You.” “It’s just been going downhill and I feel like it’s because the cops can’t do their jobs,” bemoaned Jennifer Guzman, 24, a surgical technician.

Mayor Eric Adams is desperately seeking at least $500 million in federal funding to deal with the flood of migrants into the Big Apple—leading bipartisan critics to question why he just doesn’t demand that President Biden stop the flow from Mexico. City Hall privately asked the White House for the emergency cash midway through the summer, saying it would cover just one year’s worth of spending on the migrants who Adams has said are straining the city’s shelter system to its “breaking point,” The Post has learned.(Snip) The money would in part pay the $15 million-a-month cost of operating a new tent city in The Bronx

Is Joe Biden President? That’s the question to ask after staffers walked back Biden’s latest remarks on Taiwan. During his rather uneven “60 Minutes” interview with Scott Pelley last weekend, Biden firmly and clearly announced that the United States would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion. This was a dramatic statement, and a substantial shift from America’s traditional policy of “strategic ambiguity” on Taiwan, in which our response to Chinese saber-rattling over the island nation was essentially “fool around and find out.” Biden was not at all ambiguous: If China went to war with Taiwan, it would be war with the United States and its allies. That departure made some sense.
