Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) told Breitbart News Saturday the Biden administration is being completely “disingenuous” on the number of Americans stranded in Afghanistan, estimating the number to be hundreds more than officially claimed. He added that Republicans are currently working to make the identity of the suicide bomber who killed 13 U.S. servicemembers and hundreds of Afghans public, because the American people deserve to know who was behind the attack. On Friday, Issa announced his team successfully facilitated the escape of a pregnant American woman, Nasria, from the Taliban-controlled country. Her story, he said, is just “one of hundreds.”

In May, there was renewed violence at the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip. Even though I am Jewish, this would not especially concern me any more than the many other awful things going on 4,000 miles away from London, where I live. This may confuse some who think that Jews and Israel are basically the same thing. They aren’t, and to assume so is racist. The conversation around the Middle East and antisemitism has changed of late, and disturbingly so. During the conflict, I saw a placard at a Free Palestine march in London. General McKenzie calls it a “tragic mistake.” Four days after the August 29th strike Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called the strike “righteous.” General McKenzi says he takes “full responsibility”, yet he retains his position. No one is being held to account. The legislation was obviously frowned upon by suburban voters. As The New York Times reported, lawmakers were worried about “angering suburban voters, whose preferences for single-family home living have been regarded as politically sacrosanct.” SB 9 “was furiously opposed by homeowners and local government groups who said it ‘crushes single-family zoning’ and would be ‘the beginning of the end of homeownership in California,'” the Times said.
