Iran's top nuclear scientist was assassinated by a killer robot machine gun kitted out with artificial intelligence and multiple cameras and capable of firing 600 bullets a minute, according to a new report. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, 62, dubbed the 'father' of Iran's illegal atomic program, is said to have been killed in the November 27 ambush by a Mossad sniper who pulled the trigger from an undisclosed location more than 1,000 miles away thanks to the use of satellite. The gun which fired the fatal shots was positioned in a camera-laden pickup truck lying in wait for his vehicle to come past the ambush point.

If you have ever seen the movie “The Jackal” with Bruce Willis then the headline describes a similar setup, except the movie had the Jackal a few blocks away from the target rather than 1000 miles away.

So.... instead of sending our troops to the Middle East to fight the Taliban, or Al Qaeda, or the Iranians, and losing lives and leaving equipment behind that the enemy can use against us - let’s just hire the Mossad. They seem to be able to get the job done with a minimum of fuss, in ingenious ways. When the need arises, call ‘em, get a price quote, and then pay ‘em.

Nah, #2, "kitted" is Brit speak. If you connect or add things to one item, you are said to have "kitted it out".
Your gear in their military is "your kit".

If that was the case, firing 600 rounds/minute, that vehicle would look like swiss cheese. It looks more like a traditional sniper with a .50 cal rifle fired on the car.

Utter horse-pucky!! LMAO
The time delay, of which anyone with the technological sense of a boiled turnip is aware of, in the uplink and downlink times to a satellite could be as many as 10,11 seconds or longer, or as few as 4-5, depending on a multitude of variable, and non-predictable and instantly changeable conditions. There is no way to accurately control or aim a sat-controlled firearm at a moving target with those variable delays. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AS DESCRIBED. This is disinformation designed to instill awe and trepidation amoungst any who may oppose the ruling class elites, who are simply bluffing with a 'Look what we can do' propaganda statement. Then couple the fact that if there was even a scintilla of factual information in this article it would never have come from the Mossad, and they would have never even admitted to the extent of their role in the scientists death. The worlds elites think we are the ignorant masses who will believe any amount of technological BS if it is seen online from a major outlet. The Daily Mail continues to be the disseminator of left-wing fake-news propaganda for the Soro's inspired tyrants.

I believe there's amazing space age weaponry and satellite technology available to our military that we can't even imagine. When we lose 86 billion in armaments to the Taliban, who we surely saw coming and could have easily crushed, it's intentional.

#25. It is called remote operations. The shooter was in control remotely the same as personnel operating drones that launch missles remotely. The operator does pull the trigger.

#24 Uplink/downlink times are 600ms for GEO and less than 30ms for LEO. The 1.6 second lapse makes me think they were using a GEO.

#24 is on to something. We watch Newsmax instead of The Fake News, and interviews and interviewees often talk over each other because of delays, I suppose from signals being sent up to a satellite then sent back down to the recipient, who then replies to the satellite, which sends the reply to the original speaker. But on the other hand, how come the telephone calls and Zoom meetings held between us and overseas people don’t seem to have delays? Is it because electricity travels at almost the speed of light through telephone wires and undersea cables, and distances are much shorter than from Earth to the satellites? Are satellites so high above the Earth that it takes a noticeable length of time to “bounce” them to the intended receiver?
I could spend the rest of today researching this, but there are probably L-dotters who can answer in a millisecond :)

Read closer, #25. The satellite link to control the gun was from 1,000 miles away. The gun was across the street in a truck.
As to delay time....sorry, a dedicated sat channel, with no other traffic packets on it, which this surely would be, could be less than a second delay . Even a geosynchronous satellite, the highest flying kind, is 25,000 miles up. Round trip for radio is ~0.18 seconds. So, if there is no multiplexing or packeted ethernet data causing delay for other traffic, just direct radio link, only radio time. That kind of delay is just fine.
286,000 miles/ sec is radio/light speed. 50,000 miles round trip to a geosynchronous orbit satellite.....50,000/286,000 = 0.175 sec

Agree with #39: one should not impose everyday commercial SATCOM RF transmission "restrictions" or common RF broadcast experiences on precision military SATCOM transmissions - particularly those dedicated to a singular operational mission. And #39 hit the "2" button/key by mistake (done it a thousand times on my phone - fat fingers).

Sorry for the numerical error....I hate it when I do that. 50,000 miles round trip/186,000 miles per second is 0.268 seconds.....still not a real problem for direct control. Normal sat traffic for voice has to have short latency, or the conversation is unworkable. When the data stream is networked text and pictures, it is typically a packet stream, and these packets can can be significantly delayed in the routing and reassembly process.
So voice and real time military operations would require a direct, minimum delay link, no delayed processing of data.
The radio delay is a huge issue in controlling the Martian rovers where the round trip radio link time is, at the shortest about 8.5 minutes, and at farthest in it's orbit something like 40 minutes round trip. Impossible to directly control the driving of the Rover with those delays. The Rover has to be smart enough not to strand itself on a rock or in a hole.
