Top White House aides set up a "wall" to shield President Biden from unscripted events and long interviews amid fears of the president’s testiness and habit of mangling statements, according to a new book. "Peril" by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa cited a number of incidents from the gaffe-prone president in the early days of his administration, including a back-and-forth with a CNN reporter for which he later apologized. "That side of Biden -- his tendency to at times be testy or mangle statements -- was still with him and now part of his presidency," the book says. In turn

Comments:

We don't need a Woodward book to convince us that Biden has been cocooned. He rarely takes questions from more than 5 or 6 reporters and has been muzzled on a wide variety of issues that need explanation.

Re OP comment, we don’t need it but I am really glad to see it out there in a book that will undoubtedly enjoy wide circulation and receive a major amount of mainstream media publicity and hype. That we know something is nowhere near as valuable as when the Others are faced with it and the seriously Underinformed are exposed to it.

Traitor Joe is a puppet. He can't be permitted to say whatever pops into his dim, demented brain. Sometimes he tells the truth, as in "we have the largest voter fraud operation ever developed" before the "election". They can't have him blurting out the truth.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and three other House Democrats from New York called on Mayor de Blasio and Gov. Hochul Tuesday to release all inmates held on Rikers Island, citing a long-running pattern of “human right violations” at the jail. Ocasio-Cortez made the extraordinary demand in a letter to de Blasio and Hochul issued jointly with Reps. Jamaal Bowman, Nydia Velazquez and Jerrold Nadler, who chairs the powerful House Judiciary Committee. In addition to freeing the roughly 6,000 inmates on the island, the four lawmakers wrote that the jail itself should be “immediately” shuttered and federal funding for its operations seized.

Emergency talks were being held between government officials and food producers, retailers and the energy industry…. The closure of two fertiliser plants in northern England and others in Europe has left the food and drink industry facing a shortage of carbon dioxide, which
