Proving the cable channel is no longer a news network, on Tuesday’s New Day, CNN co-hosts John Berman and Alisyn Camerota brought on political correspondent Seung Min Kim to launch juvenile insults at President Trump. Berman was particularly obnoxious, as he completely shunned his guise of being a journalist to compare Republicans praising Trump for wearing a mask to parents “praising a kid for learning how to potty train.”Berman began the absurd discussion by comparing Republicans lauding Trump to training a dog or feeding an infant: "I have to say, one of the things that's most interesting is the way that the Republicans on Capitol Hill are treating the President,

The left continued to spread the narrative that President Donald Trump may refuse to leave the White House if he loses the election in November. The judge overseeing the criminal cases against four ex-police officers charged in the May 25 killing of George Floyd vacated his previous gag order Tuesday that restricted comments by lawyers and others associated with the cases. Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill acted in response to objections to the gag order by the defendants and a coalition of news media organizations, including the Star Tribune, that are also seeking the release of body camera footage recorded during Floyd’s deadly encounter with police. Cahill did not rule Tuesday on motions seeking the release of the videos, which are currently viewable by the public only by appointment.

The Michigan House approved Wednesday a bill that would direct elderly people with COVID-19 away from nursing homes and into designated care facilities, a challenge to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's nursing home order. If the Senate concurs on the bill, the legislation would be sent to Whitmer, where she is expected to veto it. The bill, which was approved by the House 74-34, bans nursing homes from admitting or retaining an individual starting Sept. 1 who tests positive for COVID-19 unless the person had recovered or unless a nursing home could provide care in a separate building. Seventeen Democrats joined Republicans in approving the bill.

A transgender man is suing the University of Maryland Medical System in federal court, claiming his rights were violated when his gender-affirming surgery was canceled by one of the hospital system's subsidiaries. Jesse Hammons was scheduled to have a hysterectomy in January at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson. The procedure, routinely performed on cisgender women at the same hospital, was deemed medically necessary for Hammons, who had been diagnosed with gender dysphoria. NEW YORK — President Donald Trump may be losing, but that doesn’t mean Joe Biden is winning. At least that’s the concern of a pro-Democrat super PAC embracing a new strategy backed by $15 million in online ads to help close the nagging enthusiasm gap between the Republican president and his Democratic challenger. The strategist leading the super PAC known as PACRONYM warns that Biden is leading many polls “by default” and may lose his advantage unless Democrats give key groups of voters better reasons to get excited about their nominee. “We really think that Biden’s enthusiasm gap could be

We have followed the extraordinary case against General Flynn as events have warranted. By all rights it should be a sidebar to the biggest scandal in American political history by far, yet it opens a window on incredible wrongdoing at the highest reaches of the Obama administration in the FBI, the CIA, and the Department of Justice, including Team Mueller. It is a disgrace that Attorney General Barr has sought to expose and to mitigate.

The death of George Floyd and subsequent protests reshaped the presidential race. It brought race relations, racism and police brutality to the forefront.
In that time, former Vice President Joe Biden's advantage over President Donald Trump expanded from about six points to closer to 10 points.
Interestingly, however, Trump continues to do something perhaps unexpectedly among Black voters: Hold his own against Biden relative to many people's expectations.
There have been over 10 national live interview polls since the protests began for which I could assess Black voter sentiment in the presidential race. Altogether, we're looking at well more than 1,000 interviews.

Twitter claims to be a modern-day public square wherein those without a forum can discuss, debate and share their opinions and views. However, it has evolved into a primary source of fabricated stories and copy farming for the media, the principal driver of policy for the political parties, particularly the Democrats, and a vehicle to intimidate businesses and major corporations.
On July 14 Bari Weiss, former New York Times opinion writer and editor, penned a scathing letter of resignation addressed to the publisher of the Times wherein she stated: “Twitter is not on the masthead of the New York Times. But Twitter has become its ultimate editor.”

The only thing we know for certain about COVID-19 is that more people are dying this year than in previous years.(Snip)What is inexcusable is the ongoing and blatant suppression of valid debate over how to treat COVID-19.(Snip) not only are dissident opinions offered by medical experts ignored by the media or only featured in the context of being “debunked,” but their postings on YouTube and Facebook routinely are taken down. Alternative websites that attract far less viewership are the only recourse.
The most notorious example of this bias and suppression is with respect to the treatment alternative that relies on hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, and zinc as an outpatient therapy.

WASHINGTON — Against the backdrop of protests across the country over police shootings of unarmed Black people and racial disparities, some mayors and local officials are proposing ways to examine the impact of slavery and help atone for it, including reparations. From Providence to Asheville, N.C., local officials have proposed measures to begin to address years of what they call injustices in their communities. The measures range from resolutions to support studying reparations to proposals funneling more funds into programs for Black communities. “It’s always the right time to do the right thing,” said Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, noting the

Prof. Margot Cleveland at The Federalist makes some very cogent and sobering points in her article today about how the process now playing out before the DC Circuit Court of Appeals might lend itself to even more mischief that will only serve to further draw out the proceedings without reaching a final determination for weeks if not months.
Prof. Cleveland served for nearly 25 years as a staff attorney for the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and knows intimately the process and “tick-tock” that goes on behind the scenes when a motion is pending such as the one filed by Judge Sullivan — properly or improperly.

The ignorance and/or spin by the Democrats and the media in regard to what has been going on in Portland has been something else.

We’ll look back at the coronavirus pandemic as the era of great transition when traditional linear media entertainment platforms finally conceded defeat to the growing power of direct-to-consumer business. Roku, Inc. today announced findings from its annual cord cutting study, including new insights shared by U.S. consumers about how the COVID-19 pandemic is influencing the shift to streaming. Ironically, Roku has not yet signed streaming agreements with major new entrants such as WarnerMedia’s HBO Max and NBCUniversal’s Peacock, and yet its findings suggest an acceleration in the mass exodus of linear customers. The study found that approximately 32% of U.S. TV households do not have a traditional pay TV subscription

The charges filed by the St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner against Mark and Patricia McCloskey already seemed like a political witch-hunt because the couple dared to defend themselves and their property by displaying guns to BLM ‘protesters’ who trespassed on private property back in June. The ‘protesters’ went through a gate onto a private street and allegedly onto the property of the McCloskeys. Mark McCloskey said that the ‘protesters’ also threatened him and his family. They also allegedly broke the wrought-iron gate onto the private street at some point during the incident.

The American dream is that any citizen, regardless of sex, race, creed, or color, can rise on his determination and merit. History is littered with examples of the reformers who worked to realize that dream, pushing the most influential institutions in the country to prize talent and hard work over wealth and connections. The introduction of standardized testing, accessible to all American teens, was part of that push. Harvard University began administering a standardized test to all applicants in 1905. Its effect was profound and immediate: historically a landing spot for the Protestant upper crust, the school began admitting far more public school kids, Catholics, and Jews

Almost daily now we’ve been reading about how daily deaths from COVID-19 have reached record highs. It’s a scary prospect. But the truth is the mainstream press is grossly misleading the public by misreporting the death counts.
Here’s a typical report, from USA Today a few days ago: “As the outbreak continues to surge across the southern states, Florida, Texas and South Carolina set records for new daily deaths, reporting 156, 129 and 69, respectively.”
ABC News reported that “Nineteen states set single-day records for the most cases this week … Three states set a record today.”

Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich is reportedly gearing up to speak at the Democratic National Convention — what there will be of it — to support Joe Biden over President Trump. It is the natural conclusion of the presidential run he flamed out of in 2016.
That Kasich has retroactively inserted himself into the Republican resistance to Trump is a masterful grift from start to finish. It was Kasich, after all, who made Trump's win possible in the 2016 primary. Despite having no shot at victory (he wasn't alone in this), he stayed in well past his expiration date, further splintering the anti-Trump vote. If anything,

Among the dozens of anarchists arrested over the past two months, few have gotten a more vociferous defense from the anti-police left than Colinford Mattis and Urooj Rahman, two "public interest" lawyers accused of firebombing a police car.
Their defenders, who argue that the criminal justice system is stacked against the poor and underprivileged, were the first to invoke Mattis and Rahman's elite credentials when pressing the courts to cut them slack. These passionate claims have met broad agreement from leftist elected officials, media outlets, and entertainers. The ubiquity of the claims, combined with their general lack of relevant supporting evidence, highlights a distinct peculiarity within black political culture: black leaders

The Associated Press reports that the Joe Biden campaign has reached out to former Ohio governor John Kasich to speak on his behalf at the Democratic National Convention. Kasich, an anti-abortion, pro-gun Republican, ran for the Republican nomination for president in 2016. When he didn’t win, he voted for… John McCain, even though McCain wasn’t even on the ballot. So he speaks for a critical constituency of people who understand that Donald Trump is not fit to be president but can’t be bothered to use their vote to help.
I can see why it’s important for Biden and the Democrats to secure Kasich’s endorsement.

It seems almost incredible that in a number of states, serious consideration is being given to keeping the public schools closed in the Fall. Given that the coronavirus is rarely dangerous to children–less so, in fact, than the average seasonal flu–it is hard to understand the rationale for continued school closures.
The most commonly offered excuse is that the children may infect teachers. Presumably that is possible, but a U.K. epidemiologist said yesterday that “Scientists are yet to find a single confirmed case of a teacher catching coronavirus from a pupil anywhere in the world.”
Teachers’ unions are the main proponents of continued school closings, apparently because some teachers and administrators
