Among the dozens of anarchists arrested over the past two months, few have gotten a more vociferous defense from the anti-police left than Colinford Mattis and Urooj Rahman, two "public interest" lawyers accused of firebombing a police car.
Their defenders, who argue that the criminal justice system is stacked against the poor and underprivileged, were the first to invoke Mattis and Rahman's elite credentials when pressing the courts to cut them slack. Mattis and Rahman are high achievers: He is a Princeton and NYU Law grad with a corporate legal job, and she graduated from Fordham Law after spending a summer in "occupied Palestine."

We have, and will always have, an underclass, people who won't succeed financially, for various reasons.....poor upbringing, poor education, bad attitudes, laziness, etc. It's because of capitalism that funds are available to provide for these people, through welfare, food programs, rent subsidies, etc. Destroy capitalism and these programs go away. .

Why do people believe that because these two lawyers are intelligent enough to get through law school that they should be allowed to break that law. IMO they should be handled even more severely.

What kind of law studies teaches them to firebomb police cars? Maybe it was Islamic law.

Affirmative Action on full display: grievance, anger, entitlement and privilege. What deserving student was not admitted from these schools when these two losers were accepted?

A couple of morons who knew the law and made a conscious decision to break it. They need to have the book thrown at them and spend some serious time in prison. After which they will be convicted felons with all the privileges that status brings to them.

Everyone, poor, rich, middle class, green black, white, yellow, know right from wrong.
Don’t care what occupation a person has either. Be it a doctor, lawyer, politician, teacher , all know right from wrong. No excuse for breaking the law. None! They are twice as guilty and should be in jail for many yesrs

Lawyers are considered members of the court. They have more of an obligation to follow the law than a regular citizen. There are all sorts of perks associated with being members of the court, and to betray that oath they took, should warrant a stronger penalty. What was it Shakespeare supposedly said about lawyers?

Have either of them passed a bar exam? Just graduating from law school isn't enough. They must have been graduated because of their sex and social status!

If they were so educated and intelligent then they shouldn't have been playing with gasoline, rags and bottles. The dangerous combination could be harmful to themselves if nothing else. If they possessed the intelligence they shouldn't have been at the riots participating in the mayhem. The fact that they had/have the intelligence should be the reason to be more severe on them prosecuted to the fullest extent making an example of them.

The sad part is, serving a sentence in a penal institution with give them "Street Cred" with the Marxist/Commie/Anarchist crowd. not unlike Bill Ayers. Bernadette Dohrn, Angela Davis etc.
