Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich is reportedly gearing up to speak at the Democratic National Convention — what there will be of it — to support Joe Biden over President Trump. It is the natural conclusion of the presidential run he flamed out of in 2016.
That Kasich has retroactively inserted himself into the Republican resistance to Trump is a masterful grift from start to finish. It was Kasich, after all, who made Trump's win possible in the 2016 primary. Despite having no shot at victory (he wasn't alone in this), he stayed in well past his expiration date, further splintering the anti-Trump vote. If anything,

What a sorry excuse of a conservative. Kasich folded on issues that he should have stood for as a conservative like same sex marriage saying he went to a gay wedding and it was a wonderful thing. Who would vote for somebody that doesn't have the backbone to stand fast on issues that should not be changed. He doesn't really stand for anything, he just wants to be in charge like most of the people in the 2016 race. Thats why Trump won. Trump didn't need the job or the headaches but saw what was happening to this country in the hands of the professional political class and it wasn't good.

This moron was on his way to a town hall meeting during the last election and received a ticket. He bashed the cop and gave false witness but he was too stupid to realize the stop had been taped. He belongs in the Dim party.

As the person who first proposed to John Kasich that he run for governor of Ohio In a conversation at an OSU football game - I apologize to all Republicans.

Someone must have told him that if he makes a rousing speech at the Democrat Convention, the Presidency is his. Just like Clinton and Obama. Didn't take him long to move from being a conservative to being a Socialist. Must have been a RINO all along.

Career politicians are like teacher’s unions. Their single job is not to lead but to perpetuate themselves. Kasich is a typical career politician: superficial and soulless but endlessly needy, corrupt, vicious and ambitious. The country doesn’t need career politicians to lead it anymore. That is why I voted for Donald Trump and will again. That is why I find the very thought of a Biden presidency revolting.

Hell hath no fury like a mailman's son scorned. As it turned out, Kasich could not stand the heat of a presidential run and had his feelings hurt sparing with our now great president. He apparently has the same sore-loser-gene as Hillary and that obese pol from Georgia.

In remembrance for all that Kasich has done against the Republican Party, the Democrats should not charge him dues for the next 10 years! No thanks, John. No thanks a lot.

I thought that the Dems had more than enough boring and out of touch speakers who pretend that they had humble upbringings but have incomes 10 to 15 Times that of the average American family. Why would they want this stiff? If it is to bash Trump, then he’ll just be another unremarkable voice in a mediocre at best chorus.
As to Kasich, he knows he lacks the competence to join the Trump Administration so he might as well try to join Dementia Joe’s team, the Kneelers.

The teacher of Paul Ryan! Kasich was the budget”wiz kid” when he was in Congress! After his fawning articles and tv news by kasich loyal media outlets he left to be the best governor Ohio. Ever had! Didn’t work out eh, oh yes his dad was a postman! Ryan slipped into John’s role in wiz kid budget guru, oh I forgot, his wife a dem lobbyist and he exercised a lot!

Kasich is no RINO (remember his time as House Budget Committee chair in mid 90s) and he always was the smartest among Republicans. I suppose this time he sees that US will become yet another single party state 1/20/21 and he is simpy seeking a way to physically survive.

Dems could pull Biden and run a Kasich/Romney ticket.
The republicans have not been disloyal to us for decades, but we never realized that they all were on the same team.
We fell for the "they are better than the alternative" argument over and over again.
They promised to be conservative and then they let the dems get their way....over and over again!

His whole persona is one of an insecure person. His humped back posture and his defensive body language. Why would the Dems want a loser on the stage. I guess that's the best they can do.

Let's see how this works out. Kasich may not endorse Biden, but may use the appearance as an appeal to "moderate Democrats" to help unify the nation, bind the wounds now bleeding, and restore American prestige around the world...the usual palaver. It's UNIPARTY stage-setting for a Romney run...if conditions present themselves. It appears all systems now are "GO!". When the GOP nominates PDT for a second term, expect Romney to quickly announce his "I can no longer stand by" third-party run.

Kasich appears to be an 'odd duck' and a wannabe tough guy in whatever setting or circumstance he's in. Will never forget his appearance at a 2016 Republican debate. His demeanor made him look as if he was about to jump out of his skin at one point. Not sure what his true political stance is about anything; don't believe he knows either.

I would guess that more than one person needed therapy and shoulders upon which to cry after battling Donald Trump in the 2016 primary debates because their wittle feewings were hurt so badly. Kasich and McPain would have been at the front of the line to see Doctor Phil.

Krackpot Kasich is soon to be a politician without a party. Republicans will shun him. Democrats will use him and discard him like a cheap two-bit hooker. He can always put on a ski mask and become an anarchist. Bye Bye Johnnie. Ever the opportunist.

Pardon second post. Does Kasich have any ties to those caught up in the corruption scandal recently unmasked in Ohio? If I put two and two together in this case do I come up with 60 million dollars?

#1, Kasich is not now, nor has he ever been, a conservative. This is the man who did an unconstitutional end run around the Ohio Legislature to expand Medicaid in Ohio, ensuring that 1 out of every 4 Ohioans is on it.
#3, as an Ohioan I'll work on trying to forgive you. It would sure help if we weren't stuck with the Kasich-like DeWine.
#15, are you freakin' kidding me? You're either a troll or woefully uninformed.

He should look up the term "useful idiot," because that's all he'll be to them. They'll be laughing at him behind his back.
John Kasich: The most punchable face in politics.
Except for Eric Holder. Nobody is more punchable than Eric Holder.

Well, at least he has now admitted that he prefers a brain dead president over one who actually gets things done.
