“Hamilton” is under fire from left-leaning activists who say the Tony award-winning musical is a relic from a less-woke era that glorifies a slave-trader and other founding fathers who have recently fallen out of favor.
The musical is now a feature film, released last week on the Disney+ streaming network to record-breaking viewership and rave reviews, but activists contend that times have changed from when the musical first premiered on Broadway, and now, after the death of George Floyd while in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department, Americans are “reckoning” with the problematic traits of founders like Alexander Hamilton.

As the militantly ignorant shock troops of a new Cultural Revolution rampage across the United States of America in an orgy of statue-toppling, cop-killing, and flag-burning, they continue to be met with a stunning lack of resistance. President Trump’s stirring Independence Day speech aside, the country’s leaders are worse than useless: Democrat politicians support the chaos, and Republican politicians generally are too feckless to take action. Conservative citizens are too law-abiding to fight fire with fire, and so the mob, stoked by the activist news media and facing no consequences for their anarchy, tears down America unopposed.

It is, or ought to be, clear to everyone by now that Black Lives Matter is not a genuine movement for racial justice and a more equitable society, but a Marxist organization using real, exaggerated, and imagined racial injustice to try to destroy the United States. Anyone who is still in doubt about this should consider the fact that some blacks are still enslaved today, and Black Lives Matter never has and never will say a word about it, because that organization doesn’t really care about black lives.
If they did actually care about the lives of black people, Black Lives Matter would today be drawing international attention to statements

Joe Biden has often said during his presidential campaign that we are in a “battle for America’s soul.” A nice soundbite, but Biden is already conceding this battle to globalists who disdain American sovereignty. Indeed, Biden is an extreme globalist himself. And Biden has for the most part been AWOL in the battle being waged for America’s soul over the founding ideals of our nation, which are under attack by the far-left progressive base of the Democratic Party. After weeks of silence, Biden finally spoke out on June 30th in favor of protecting the statues and monuments of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

If Donald Trump’s Independence Eve address at Mount Rushmore was a battle cry for the republic, millions of Americans seemingly joined forces with the president the next evening with their own sort of ammunition: fireworks.
Lockdown orders and “social distancing” decrees canceled official Fourth of July fireworks displays across the country—the latest in a long list of cruelties inflicted on the public to suffocate freedom and joy—but fed-up patriots from sea to shining sea were having none of it.
Families and friends gathered in defiance of government bans on well-attended gatherings to celebrate our nation’s founding.

Harper’s Magazine has published a letter on “open debate” which is signed by 150 journalists, writers and academics, from Noam Chomsky to J.K. Rowling. The letter itself is relatively brief and takes plenty of shots at the right on the way to making a point about left’s growing fondness for cancel culture. You can read it all here. The letter praises “powerful protests” for social justice and then warns that “forces of illiberalism” (they name Trump as an ally of these forces) are “gaining strength.” The letter warns “resistance must not be allowed to harden into its own brand of dogma.” And that’s really the main point of the letter.

Texas reported more than 10,000 additional Covid-19 cases Tuesday, a record-breaking daily surge in cases as the state responds to a growing outbreak and an increase in hospitalizations.
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission reported 10,028 new cases, which surpasses the state’s previous record of nearly 8,260 cases set on July 4.
There were 9,268 people in the state’s hospitals with Covid-19 as of Tuesday, another daily record. Public health experts watch hospitalizations closely because it can indicate how severe an outbreak is in an area.

It is more than a possibility, and slightly less than a likelihood, that Joe Biden will be elected president in November.
Biden has made it clear that a woman will be his running mate.
What is becoming equally apparent is that he may be cornered into choosing a socialist or progressive as that person.
As he runs his campaign from his basement, allowing President Trump to stomp his feet and shout as he tries to mount a more traditional campaign, Biden has shown little inclination to take on his own foot-stomping base.

Frederick Douglass spent the entirety of his adult life fighting tirelessly for black people and women to be recognized as full United States citizens.
Douglass, a famous black abolitionist in the 1800s, used Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence as the foundation of his argument to end slavery.
That’s why it struck me as ill-informed that Colin Kaepernick would use Douglass’ What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July speech as the audio backdrop for his incendiary tweet condemning America’s Independence Day.

Speaking at Mount Rushmore on Friday, and from the White House lawn on Saturday, July 4, Donald Trump recast the presidential race.
He seized upon an issue that can turn his fortunes around, and the wounded howls of the media testify to the power of his message.
Standing beneath the mammoth carved images of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt, Trump declared: "Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials, and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities."
These mobs are made up of Marxists, criminals, and anarchists. Their cause is a cultural revolution. "Their goal is not a better America.

June was National Ocean Month for the United States, a time to reflect on the economic, national security, and environmental impacts of the world’s oceans on our country. Throughout our nation's history, the oceans have served to protect our shores and facilitate our economic prosperity. Because our national identity, wealth, and security are so inextricably linked to the oceans, safeguarding the freedom of the seas has been a long-standing imperative for the United States. Protecting it, as well as its guarantee under customary international law, is as important today as it was in the early days of the Republic.

As the saying goes, “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” That’s why you should be weary of anyone seeking to rewrite history. They’re likely looking to repeat something from it – something bad – and don’t want you to know what’s coming.
Liberals have spent the last few months wiping clean every piece of history they can. From statues to the very founding of our country, Democrats have declared what was to not have been and what wasn’t to have always been.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AK) said Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)’s amendment attached to the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act is not simply an effort to rename some military bases named after Confederate leaders but a push to erase American history.“It may be portrayed in the media as Confederate named bases but it’s far more radical,” Cotton said on Monday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. “It’s far more extreme. At the end of March, President Trump was on a roll: Having been acquitted by the Senate in February, he was taking credit for a coronavirus lockdown that “saved 2 million lives,” in his estimate, and was an odds-on favorite to win the 2020 election (a plus-seven-point margin in the RealClearPolitics betting average). RCP’s polling average placed his job approval rating at 47.4%, with over 50% approved of his handling of the COVID-19 crisis. In the battleground states, he was running close to even with Joe Biden.
Three months later, Trump’s approval rate is at 41.5%, and his disapproval rating close to 56%,

Former Reddit CEO Ellen Pao may have thought she was revealing corruption in Silicon Valley. She did not realize she was implicating herself.
Pao, a bigshot in Big Tech, claims that Ghislaine Maxwell attended a Kleiner Perkins party in 2011. This was three years after Jeffrey Epstein was convicted of child sex trafficking. The fact that she attended this party is really not newsworthy. What is significant is Pao's comment that "We knew about her supplying underage girls for sex, but I guess that was fine with the 'cool' people who managed the tightly controlled guest list."

Some have rightly noted the double standard shown by numerous public health officials and politicians regarding “social distancing.” Were public health officials indicating that COVID-19 is not as dangerous as originally stated by their apparent approval of rioting throughout America?
Multiple statistics can be provided here to answer the question and show that SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19, is not the “threat to all Americans” that it has been made out to be. One need not be an epidemiologist to arrive at this conclusion.

ROME — Ennio Morricone, the Oscar-winning Italian composer who created the coyote-howl theme for the iconic Spaghetti Western “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and often haunting soundtracks for such classic Hollywood gangster movies as “The Untouchables” and the epic “Once Upon A Time In America,” died Monday. Presidential elections are typically contests between politicians with unambiguously positive views of the United States and competing ideas about how to improve it. This year, however, we must choose between two people with competing perspectives about whether a positive view of our country is even possible. President Trump believes the United States is a great nation founded by great men upon whose work we can build an even greater future. His challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden, believes the United States has fallen far short of the ostensible principles of its hypocritical founders and that the only way forward is to fundamentally transform it according to some

Would you be shocked to learn that a big hunk of the citizenry is absolutely convinced that Donald Trump will not only be re-elected but re-elected in a landslide? It’s true, and it’s not an ironic or performative belief, but rather one drawn from a perspective that the mainstream media utterly ignores. This means you probably have no idea it even exists, and that could lead to an unpleasant surprise in November.
Well, unpleasant for you.

In Atlanta this weekend, an 8-year-old girl was shot and killed while riding in a vehicle with her mother. The driver was trying to enter a parking lot where a group of people had illegally placed barricades. Someone in the group reportedly opened fire.
Elsewhere in Minneapolis, a pregnant woman was shot while in her car. Doctors were able to deliver and save her child, but the woman died shortly thereafter. And in Seattle, where a teenage boy died last week, another young woman was killed after a car drove into a group of protesters on a closed highway.

The current rage for tearing down statues and renaming things has reached a sort of reductio ad absurdum: the city of Columbus, Ohio has removed the statue of Christopher Columbus from in front of its City Hall. The Wall Street Journal reports:
The city of Columbus, Ohio, this week unceremoniously evicted a 16-foot bronze statue . . . of Christopher Columbus. “For many people in our community, the statue represents patriarchy, oppression and divisiveness,” said Mayor Andrew Ginther, giving the removal order two weeks ago. “That does not represent our great city.”

Let us pause for a moment and consider the Primary Model, a political forecasting method which predicts the ultimate outcome of White House races on voting patterns from presidential primaries.
The model has a laudable track record. Established in 1996 by Stony Brook University political science professor Helmut Norpoth, the Primary Model correctly picked the victors in multiple presidential elections — including the last one.
On March 7, 2016, it predicted then-candidate Donald Trump had an 87% chance of defeating Hillary Clinton. Will the president also vanquish Democratic nominee Joseph R. Biden?
