Mogadishu-born Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) has found something new to be ungrateful for:
The entire U.S. political and economic system, which she now calls upon to be cancelled:
“As long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will perpetuate this inequality,” Omar said. “We cannot stop at criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it.”
According to the Daily Caller:
Omar held an event Tuesday in her home state of Minnesota with members of the Minnesota People of Color

At the end of March, President Trump was on a roll: Having been acquitted by the Senate in February, he was taking credit for a coronavirus lockdown that “saved 2 million lives,” in his estimate, and was an odds-on favorite to win the 2020 election (a plus-seven-point margin in the RealClearPolitics betting average). RCP’s polling average placed his job approval rating at 47.4%, with over 50% approved of his handling of the COVID-19 crisis. In the battleground states, he was running close to even with Joe Biden.
Three months later, Trump’s approval rate is at 41.5%, and his disapproval rating close to 56%,

Going for the wokester cred, Meghan Markle's husband, Prince Harry, would like you to apologize, or rather, 'reflect' on the colonial sins of his ancestors.
Here's how bad it was:
Prince Harry today faced criticism after he appeared to take a swipe at the British Empire by saying the history of the Commonwealth 'must be acknowledged', even if it's 'uncomfortable'.
The Duke of Sussex, 35, made the comment as he joined wife Meghan Markle, 38, for a video call with young leaders
from the Queen's Commonwealth Trust last week that was made public today.
As part of the discussion on 'justice and equal rights', Harry said the Commonwealth needs to follow others

Well, it looks like the makeover has begun.
Corrupt Joe Biden, who used his office to enrich himself and his family, to say the least, is now the foreign policy maven, particularly on China. That's the spin from the New York Times, which has beclowned itself badly, trying to tell the audience that something smelly is shinola.
To voters unsettled by President Trump’s disruptive approach to the world, Mr. Biden is selling not only his policy prescriptions but also his long track record of befriending, cajoling and sometimes confronting foreign leaders — what he might call the power of his informal diplomatic style. “I’ve dealt with every

Amid a new outbreak of the coronavirus, California's Gavin Newsom was adamant that no firework celebrations be done on the Fourth of July, because the public simply could not be trusted to socially distance.
Addressing the counties on California's watchlist, he explained, "We have worked with those counties, the 19 counties that are mandatory closure lists and we have made it clear privately- now we're making it more abundantly clear publicly- that we believe that they should consider canceling some of their fireworks shows

It's unclear whether he's consulted with his friend Donald Trump, but rapper Kanye West has announced he's ready to unseat the Republican president.
"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future," West wrote on Twitter Saturday evening. "I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION"
It's not apparent how serious he is about running, but it seems unlikely the polarizing entertainer could actually unseat Trump. It's probably more likely he could use a little publicity for his upcoming album, "God's Country," and its first single, "Wash Us in the Blood," which was released earlier this week.

MIAMI — Three American defense contractors held for five years by leftist rebels in Colombia moved closer to collecting on a $318 million judgment against their former captors when a U.S. Supreme Court justice rebuffed an appeal by a sanctioned Venezuelan businessman whose assets they seek to claim.
Justice Clarence Thomas refused to hear an emergency appeal by Samark López, letting stand an order by a federal appeals court immediately turning over $53 million from the businessman's previously seized U.S. bank accounts, though the appeals court judgment is being contested.
Yet his defenders say there is no evidence — and no conviction

President Trump delivered the speech of his presidency at Mount Rushmore Friday, a magnificent affirmation to Americans on their 244th national birthday that what they have always cherished is still cherished, along with a warning shot to those who hate and despise all the United States stands for. It was non-partisan -- there was no mention of Democrats or Joe Biden. It was inclusive - celebratory of people of all races, and celebratory in particular of the singularity of America being great for such diversity. It was also big-hearted, magnanimous, celebrating all the ranges achievements of the country. Yet it also did the thing Trump does best,

The news industry, which is supposedly in the business of reporting the news, something any gossip girl can do, is having trouble reporting the news.
Here are the headlines out from CNN all dated this week as the stock market hit new highs and a blowout jobs number signaled a V-shaped economic recovery:
The US economy created 4.8 million jobs in June. But that's not the whole story
Reopening the economy doesn't mean Covid-19 is getting better. It just shifts more responsibility to you

After all that time in the basement, not doing very much, Joe Biden still can't quite decide who his runnng mate is going to be.
According to Breitbart News:
Former Vice President Joe Biden is pushing back his timeline for announcing a running mate, seeming to signal his campaign has yet to find an acceptable candidate.
Biden told reporters on Tuesday after delivering an address on the coronavirus pandemic that his campaign was still evaluating its options. In late May, he floated the idea of unveiling his running mate by August 1. When pressed if the announcement would meet his initial August timeline, Biden backtracked,

Over the past month, mobs across the Golden State hae torn down statues of a Junipero Serra, an eighteenth-century Spanish Franciscan friar. On June 20, protesters in downtown Los Angeles toppled a Serra statue near Union Station. The mob labeled the statue a “commemoration of hate, bigotry, and colonization.”
A day earlier, activists had brought down another statue of Serra in San Francisco. Several statues dedicated to Serra and two other figures in San Pedro were defaced. The famous mission of San Juan Capistrano preemptively removed their statue of Serra to protect it from possible destruction. The cities of Carmel and Ventura took similar action.
