Thomas Jefferson's "original Rough draught," or rough draft, of the Declaration of Independence, written in June 1776, includes dozens of edits from historical figures, including John Adams and Benjamin Franklin. The Library of Congress has made high-resolution microfilm scans of the document available online. (Photo) Congress appointed a committee to draft the declaration on June 11, 1776. It included Jefferson, Franklin and Adams along with Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston. Jefferson had previously drafted the Virginia Constitution in May of that year, and historians say that earlier writing influenced the Declaration of Independence. (Photo)

President Donald Trump said during his speech before Mount Rushmore on Friday night that America’s schools continue to indoctrinate America’s children, and children are taught to “hate their own country.”Trump said during his speech on Friday that the left has become increasingly radical and influential within the many facets of American society. Trump said that he will “expose” the left’s dangerous radicalism and “cultural revolution.” “In our schools, our newsrooms, even our corporate boardrooms, there is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute allegiance,” Trump said.

Calls to boycott the NFL trended Friday on social media following reports that the league plans to play the song known as the Black national anthem before all Week 1 regular season games. Multiple media outlets, including The Associated Press and the Undefeated, cited sources saying that “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” known as the Black national anthem, would be played or performed before the first week’s games, immediately before “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The hashtag #BoycottNFL trended on Friday morning as some Republican lawmakers and others condemned the idea, saying it promoted the concept of a nation divided by race.

When we celebrate the Fourth, we’re not only observing our nation’s birthday. We’re also celebrating the things that came into the world along with it. When we obsess over our faults, we lose perspective and forget that aspect of our past. Never before had a country been built upon the idea that it was not the rule of kings but the dignity of each person that formed the basis of political and social order. We did that. Our liberty is founded not upon the gift of a favored few, but on the idea that each of us has certain inherent rights, bestowed by God and woven into the fabric of nature itself.

As Americans around the country and the world celebrate the founding of the United States this weekend, Democrats have made it clear whose side they’re on when it comes to attacking the values and traditions that matter most. For weeks, cities across the country have been overrun by leftist anarchists seeking to destroy the United States from the inside out. Leftist mayors have not only stood by to watch but have openly endorsed criminal behavior. After all, it’s “for a good cause.” In Seattle, Mayor Jenny Durkan allowed leftist anarchists to take over a number of city blocks and called it the beginning of a “summer of love.”

Today, prominent voices are asserting, with a straight face, that America’s birth and life have been nothing but a celebration of slavery and racism. Today, violent mobs are indiscriminately tearing down statues of the Founding Fathers — and just about any other statue, for that matter, indiscriminately. This is why it has never been more important than it is now to celebrate the miracle of the nation’s founding. This isn’t to say that the founders were perfect or that there weren’t dark chapters in our history. But those aspects, which shouldn’t be hidden, should not make us shy away from honoring the great events set in motion

CALW, Germany — As Germany emerged from its coronavirus lockdown in May, police commandos pulled up outside a rural property owned by a sergeant major in the special forces, the country’s most highly trained and secretive military unit. They brought a digger. The sergeant major’s nickname was Little Sheep. He was suspected of being a neo-Nazi. Buried in the garden, the police found two kilograms of PETN plastic explosives, a detonator, a fuse, an AK-47, a silencer, two knives, a crossbow and thousands of rounds of ammunition, much of it believed to have been stolen from the German military.

A s Americans discuss black livelihood in the context of recent high-profile black deaths at the hands of police officers, a merciless villain is quietly snatching away thousands of black lives each year: infant mortality. To be sure, medicine has gone a long way toward keeping black babies alive. In 1850, the black infant-mortality rate was 340 per 1,000 (compared with 217 per 1,000 for whites). Still, despite progress, last year over 7,000 black babies died in the United States before reaching one year of age — one baby for every 87 born. Troublingly, the infant-mortality rate is far higher for blacks than for other races:

In 2008, the Harvard University law professor helped Maxwell’s perverted pal Jeffrey Epstein secure a plea deal with federal prosecutors in Florida while the sexual predator was under investigation for abusing underage girls. Dershowitz also is embroiled in a lawsuit himself against Virginia Guiffre, who claims Epstein kept her as a teenage sex slave and forced her to sleep with both Prince Andrew and Dershowitz. The lawyer and royal both have vehemently denied this.

Dear Friends: I like your country because you know how to celebrate holidays properly. As a good Spaniard, there is nothing that appeals to me more than a big party where most people seem to have gone crazy right from the start, forgetting what they were even celebrating. Noise, cholesterol-packed hot dogs, classic rock, drinks, and pretty girls with a Star-Spangled Banner painted on their faces. I could stay and live in a place like that. Any English historian might very well tell me I am mistaken, but I am convinced that we Spaniards sent over a load of money and ten thousand soldiers to help our American friends

The coronavirus pandemic was (and still is) a potential disaster for the homeless. In San Francisco, the city was forced to reduce the number of homeless people in each of the city’s shelters to prevent them from becoming hotspots for the virus. But doing that meant a lot more people living on the streets. In the Tenderloin district, the number of tents went from 158 on March 3 to 391 by May 1. Even the police officers who normally handle drug-dealing in the area were pulled out creating a defacto lawless zone, a homeless version of Seattle’s CHOP. And just as happened with CHOP, local residents

On June 27, the House of Representatives made history by approving a bill to grant statehood to Washington, D.C. Though the Democrat-backed measure is dead on arrival in the Republican-controlled Senate, there was unintended irony in the timing of its passage in the House. It came six days shy of the current U.S. flag’s 60th birthday. This is the longest stretch in American history that Old Glory has gone unchanged. As every schoolchild knows, the original flag had 13 stars and 13 stripes honoring the original 13 colonies-turned-states. Two more stars and stripes were added when New Hampshire and Kentucky joined the Union.

On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress in Philadelphia after a lengthy debate adopted a resolution in favor of declaring independence from Great Britain. The language of the Declaration of Independence was approved on July 4, which Americans have celebrated ever since as Independence Day. But John Adams, who sat on the committee appointed to draft the document and encouraged Thomas Jefferson to be the principal author, had a slightly different idea about which day his countrymen would remember. In two letters dated July 3 to his beloved wife, Abigail, Adams explained why he believed July 2 would be celebrated as “the most memorable epocha in the history of America.”

Where the stakes are high, so too are the demands to save America from the tyranny of the Jacobian thought police on the cusp of a takeover of the Democratic Party pledging a radical nationwide transformation.
