Boeing’s Communications Chief Niel Golightly resigned Thursday following an employee complaint over a 1987 article opposing women serving in military combat.
Golightly, who served as the troubled planemaker’s senior vice president of communications once wrote that “introducing women into combat would destroy the exclusively male intangibles of war fighting

There is no statute of limitations with cancel culture. Kavanaugh being a good example, except it wasn’t true, but that matters none to the liberal jackals. They’ll go as far back to the crib if it serves their purpose.

So what this tells me is that they don't believe anyone is capable of learning as time passes. So can we cancel all the diversity classes, since they won't work?

We are on dangerous ground here. A lot of people were worried about women in combat back in the day when men had a sense of honor and protective culture of caring and keeping women and children out of harms way. The other view that a lot of soldiers couldn’t keep their hormones in check during down time and in battle would also be a detriment. Now to use today’s standards to cancel a person for views years ago is just plain wrong.

Next thing you know they'll be firing me because my grandfather used an anti-LGBTQWERTY expletive when speaking about J. Edgar Hoover 75 years ago.
Oh I forgot. They're already doing stuff like that.

We are in a world of group think until someone stands up and says "FU" and I am looking forward to that day.

I’m wondering if it is safe to fly in a plane made in Seattle. Maybe the “culture” there is incompatible with logic and responsibility.

Sorry. Women do not belong in combat.
That is for men.
Get a life!

Women should NOT be in combat. Their ineffectiveness will get men killed.

James Webb, Former Sec'y of the Navy, Democrat Senator from Virginia, Exploratory Committee for President, 2016. From his 1990 article "Women Can't Fight": "There is a place for women in our military, but not in combat. And their presence at institutions dedicated to the preparation of men for combat command is poisoning that preparation. By attempting to sexually sterilize the Naval Academy environment in the name of equality, this country has sterilized the whole process of combat leadership training, and our military forces are doomed to suffer the consequences." Would be interesting to see his views on this.

He was right a quarter century ago and he's right now. Boeing has further disgraced itself by this gutless pandering to the Fascist Left. Boeing should know that concessions to the Left do not bring peace - they bring greater demands for fealty. Boeing execs should break out the foot-washing basins and assume the position.

He was mostly right. IMO, only behind the controls of a machine, like an aircraft, can a woman be even remotely equal to a man in combat. In ground combat, ANYONE who is weak is a liability, and only a tiny fraction of all women can come up to even the bottom 30-40% of men in physical strength.
Hard reality.
But truth is no longer a defense.

Here it is: it's 2020, and I say, with some authority from the cancel culture's own examples, that women are not suited for serving in combat.
First off, there is the 'Trans-athlete'. a genetic man, doing athletic events against genetically female competitors. They tend to win. The male genetics make them superior in such events than 'real' women. You don't see 'Trans-men' athletes competing against genetic men, now, do we?
Women, training for combat, don't have to meet the same physical standards. If they are so required, most can't cut it.
It's possible that women might serve as tank crews and pilots, though . from what I've heard so far, they don't do as well in planes as even I expected.
Mr. Golightly should be lauded for his timely and insightful contribution to the question, but that would be 'sexist'. Possibly racist?

Way back in 1987, the vast majority of people, the world over, thought that women in combat was a bad idea. Myself included. At the time, the only people pushing for women in combat were the same feminists that would never serve, let alone serve in combat. I'm still of the opinion that a woman that has her feelings hurt over every little thing still has no place in combat. If you cant handle inappropriate comments, however will you handle the unwanted advances of an islamist captor?
Combat isn't for everyone, many men included. Could anyone imagine pajama boy in the Marines?

No we had a clue back then from hard lessons in combat but we were told to sit down and color. The rest is history. Doesn't change the facts. kind of runniing your car with the tires under inflated.

Boeing has lost it's way in many areas, this failure to push back is just one more. To all the PC freaks who champion this nonsense, when will ALL girls age 18 be required to register with the Selective Service??? You drooling hypocrites can't have it both ways and SHAME on the Uniparty for not going all the way with this. You want to fight, then EVERY girl has to sign up.
