According to police, 8 year old Secoriea Turner was riding in a car with her mom and an adult friend when car turned off the interstate near the Wendy’s in Atlanta where Rayshard Brooks was shot by the police. They were trying to enter a parking lot to turn around but were stopped by people who were illegally blocking the entrance.
Protesters had been illegally occupying the area since the killing of Brooks.

The Oregon State Police on Sunday cleared a trooper who appeared to make a white power symbol during a Black Lives Matter protest in Salem, Oregon, over the weekend. Rochester, N.Y.—Police are investigating an act of vandalism, after a statue of Frederick Douglass was removed from its base at Maplewood Park during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Leaders from ‘Re-energize the legacy of Frederick Douglass’ are shocked a monument they worked so hard on will have to be replaced.(Snip) The statue was one of 13 placed throughout the city in 2018, and this is the second monument to be vandalized.

Over a dozen people have been injured after a shooting during a party at a northeast Atlanta intersection, police say. Officers were called to the 200 block of Auburn Avenue around 1 a.m. Sunday after reports of multiple people shot. According to police, the incident happened when a large group of people gathered at an intersection to watch fireworks and celebrate. During the party, police say a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the area, which started an altercation between a group of people. The fight escalated to the point where multiple people began shooting, hitting 14 people in the area. Private vehicles took all the victims to nearby hospitals.

Atlanta-based company Home Depot is temporarily changing the way it sells rope.
The company says the changes are coming after nooses were found inside several stores.The nooses were first spotted about a year ago, but sightings have increased in recent weeks. Unfortunately, we’ve had some instances where spooled rope was used to create hate symbols and we’re not going to tolerate it," a Home Depot spokesperson told FOX Business. "Out of an abundance of caution, we temporarily removed spooled rope from our aisles."Home Depot is now removing the giant spools of rope used to make the nooses and will only sell rope in pre-cut lengths at this time.
An armed bystander shot a robbery suspect dead in the parking lot of a Scottsdale, Arizona, convenience store early Friday morning.
12 News reports the robbery suspect, 38-year-old Robert Blackwater, entered a Circle K on Indian School and 82nd Street and allegedly shot at the clerk, who fled the store unharmed.
During the alleged robbery a customer, 35-year-old Joseph Toki, walked into the store and was allegedly shot and killed by Blackwater.
Blackwater then reportedly ran out of the store and shot at a bystander in the parking the lot. The bystander was armed and shot back, killing Blackwater.

The United States Supreme Court has given the state of Indiana a second chance to review pro-life legislation formerly blocked by a lower court. SCOTUS threw out the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling blocking two Republican backed, pro-life laws Thursday, Reuters reported. One of these laws would require women to see an ultrasound of their unborn baby before they obtained abortions, while the other one would require parental notification when a minor sought an abortion. Vice President Mike Pence signed the ultrasound law when he was governor of Indiana in 2016, before he was selected as President Donald Trump’s running mate.

Escambia County, Fla.—An investigation into an alleged noose believed to have been found at the International Paper Co. mill in Cantonment has come to an end. International Paper's Director of Marketing Thomas Ryan tells Channel 3 that what they found on site in late June was actually not a noose at all. Donald Trump did not mention Lincoln’s First Inaugural address in his speech commemorating the spirit of American Independence at Mount Rushmore on Friday night. But the president’s speech—perhaps his most forceful and eloquent to date—vibrated with the same energy and existential commitment that fired Lincoln in March 1861.
Lincoln came to office at a time of crisis. His election had precipitated the secession of seven Southern states. His inaugural address was both a plea for conciliation and unity as well as a warning that violence would be stopped with force. “We are not enemies, but friends,” Lincoln said.
A shooting at a South Carolina nightclub left two people dead and eight wounded, a sheriff's official said. Video footage posted to social media shows people at what appears to be a rap concert inside the club. The clip shows people inside the club hurrying toward the exit before the screen goes blank and gunshots are heard in the background. Two Greenville County sheriff's deputies noticed a disturbance at Lavish Lounge just before 2am, and saw a large crowd running out of the building, Sheriff Hobart Lewis said at a press conference. But if we’re going to get serious about removing symbols of this country’s endemic racism, we shouldn’t stop there. California Governor Gavin Newsom (Dem.) has been playing politics with the Wuhan virus. When he first ordered a short lockdown to “flatten the curve,” Californians played along despite the economic destruction because the virus was new, and the predictions were scary. Friday’s celebration at Mount Rushmore reminded me of Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain” where after a wild witches’ sabbath, church bells ring, the sun comes out and the witches vanish. For weeks now we’ve watched the Antifa-BLM-just plain thugs and looters’ witches’ sabbath -- rampaging through our streets, defacing and destroying treasured memorials, looting, shooting, beating innocents and murdering them. Not a single Democrat leader has condemned these things, choosing instead to pretend these are peaceful protests against police brutality. Every four years they gin up some incident to create the impression that this is a racist society that requires radical reformation and conservatives are to blame.

Saving America From the Mob

There is a mob destroying our country. They want to change our political and economic systems and move us toward a communist form of government. Part of their attack is to demonize our history and traditions and demolish our monuments and symbols.
While millions of Americans love the country and revere our traditions, the radicals hate America and want to radically transform our nation. They plan on accomplishing their mission by eroding trust in law enforcement and targeting police departments for annihilation across the country.
With a rousing Independence Day speech at Mount Rushmore, President Trump certainly laid down the principles on which he will now go to the hustings. His choice of a setting put him before the famed monument to four presidents — each of which is a target of the movement that has been seeking to besmirch or destroy statues of our national leaders. Mr. Trump left no doubt in respect of which side he is on.
Had the President left any such doubt, the morning papers cleared them up. The Times led with a long geschrei about how Mr. Trump had sent a “discordant” message.
If Abraham Lincoln and Christopher Columbus no longer pass woke muster in Boston, then it’s time for the Kennedys to go.
And everything with their names plastered on it — the JFK Library and JFK federal building, his statue at the State House, the Kennedy School of Government across the river, the Rose Kennedy Greenway, the Edward M. Kennedy Whatever They Call It, etc.

Things haven’t gone well for Oberlin College in court recently. First, it was found liable for defaming Gibson’s Bakery. After the bakery’s owner tried to stop a black student from shoplifting, the Oberlin student senate condemned the bakery as racist and called for a boycott of its products, which Oberlin stopped purchasing for a time. A jury awarded the Gibson family $44 million in damages (reduced to $33 million by operation of Ohio law). The case is on appeal to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
