“Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy wondered aloud Thursday when the wearing of masks in public during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic “became political,” after suggesting that science proves they work to help curb the spread of COVID-19.“For some reason, over the last couple of weeks, a month, masks have become political. But the science of masks is not,” Doocy said ahead of introducing Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, a family and emergency medicine physician who sees coronavirus patients daily. (Video) During her segment, Nesheiwat explained that, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, wearing a mask in public can reduce the spread of coronavirus

Having everybody in useless masks (remember, don't touch your eyes) is simply visible assurance that our esteemed political betters are actually doing something when they have NO CLUE.

Wearing a mask to prevent the virus is like putting up chain link fencing on your door to keep out the mosquitos

There is NO evidence for masks preventing the virus. There's not even evidence that masks in an operating room prevent infections from forming in surgical wounds.
There is however, evidence that wearing a mask increases CO2 levels in the blood to levels above OSHA standards which can aggravate pre-existing medical conditions and even cause death.

Fauci and James both said don't wear the mask in March.. when they were non-woke... my piece of cloth and two rubber bands is exactly that a piece cloth that is useful if I'm sick...I'm not... to wear a mask outside is doubly stupid..no threat and I continue to inhale my petri dish of bacteria

The article linked gives quite a back and forth of official and contradictor advice on face mask/no face mask dating from the early days.

With all the hysteria about washing hands and wearing masks, how many people are cleaning their electronic devices regularly?

If a face covering stops covid, why didn't they tell us in March and save 130,000 lives?

You lost me at “latest from CDC.” I especially like the plastic covering on the credit card machines. If you don’t change it between customers, why bother?

It was don't wear a mask, but stay six feet apart. Then it was only n-95 masks will prevent the spread of the virus, and don't wear cloth masks because they won't do anything to stop the spread. Now it's appears anything goes as far as masks are concerned. It could be a mask made out of gauze, and as long as it gives the appearance covering one's face, your good. The only thing that's stayed pretty much the same is the six feet apart idea. Now it's wear a mask and stay six feet apart. But even the six feet apart concept has been questioned with some doctors saying that in warmer weather, the virus doesn't travel as far, while others say the virus can spread even farther then the six feet. It's this contradictory info that gets people po'd.

We're all going to be exposed to the virus. Period. There's no vaccine yet!! A mask and washing the skin off of your hands might slow the spread, but that's all. I hope when I'm I'm exposed I don't have symptoms. Until that happens, I'll do social distancing, but I'm not going around with a cloud fear over my head.

RINO Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts has said the state will not go to “phase 4” until a vaccine is available. Ahem. That could be decades or never. I think Charlie should be encouraged to get a cognitive test like Biden.

We are conditioned to be lemmings going over the cliff. Will the virus suddenly disappear the day after the November election?

Nationwide lunacy. It has become the religion of the masses. Scary and sad.
