Stillwater, Okla.—Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy took a $1 million pay cut and had his contract shortened by a year as part of an internal review prompted by sharp criticism from his star running back for wearing a T-shirt promoting a far-right news channel. Athletic director Mike Holder said Friday the adjustments to Gundy’s contract were the coach’s idea. Holder reiterated his belief Gundy has always treated Black players well a day after releasing a statement saying the review found “no sign or indication of racism” in the football program. Two weeks ago, running back Chuba Hubbard lashed out at Gundy

But had he been wearing a T-shirt with an MSNBC logo on it, no complaints!

The label "far right" means middle of the road. The Oakie State coach has established what he is and is now haggling over the price.

I hope OU beats the wuss-assed Mike Gumby and his OSU Cowboys 69-0 this Fall. Better yet, the Kansas Jayhawks take the Cowpokes to the woodshed.

I'd like to donate vast sums of money to OSU just so I can meet Gundy and tell him what a COWARD he is.

Golly I hope this doesn't affect the team's competitiveness. I know for a fact that if somebody cuts my salary they get what they pay for.

I've always liked Gundy, although my alma mater competes with OSU in the Big 12. I'm surprised he'd go along with such madness but in this day and age, getting another D1 head coaching gig would have probably been unlikely. Aside from Gundy, it seems that the great American pushback that many have predicted has also taken a knee, so I won't be casting any stones his way.

Just another reason to abandon college football as a spectator. Only falling revenue will make them see the light .
Football, NASCAR, basketball off the list. Any suggestions for their replacement?

Has OSU not had a massive amount of blowback from alums about this grovelling? I respected OSU as one of those schools I thought was a down-to-earth, if not conservative, then at least not flaming liberal schools. I am so sad to find out I was so wrong. OSU has become another cookie-cutter woke, worthless bucket of spit.

A 'far right' channel? What in Hades do they call the Clown News Network (THIS... is CNN!)? Or BS-DNC?
As far as that goes, I've long abbreviated the Associated Press differently that they do.

This so-called player, Hubbard, has a coach that does not have the same outlook he does so he has to shut the coach up! Hubbard does not deserve America.

What clause in his contract states that what it can say on his t-shirts? Color me cynical, but I suspect well-healed OSU alumnus will step toward the back and pay his fine.

He did nothing wrong. NOTHING. The wrong was done to him, not allowing him to exercise his guaranteed 1st Amendment right to free speech. Kneeling for our anthem is protected , so is this. And , he was penalized for it. This is sick and sickening behavior.

Been a supporter of OSU football ever since I moved to Oklahoma. But, no more. In the last few years I've felt Gundy should go, anyway. He doesn't seem to have what it takes to get the team "over the top".

When your starting point is Marxist, even a liberal democrat appears to be a right winger. A normal middle of the road would be considered a rightwing extremist. A conservative is downright nazified.
(never mind that nazis were socialists)

FTA: “All the players should be commended for having the courage to speak up,” Holder said. “We need more of that in society, not less. That doesn’t mean the players are in control. There’s a reason that adults are in the leadership positions.”
Just be sure that what you are saying fits the narrative that is "safe". Can Holder hear himself? The adults are the leaders? How so if a coach (the adult) wears a shirt bearing the logo of a legitimate news site and a player (the non-adult) can get them into this much trouble?
Gundy appears to be all about the Benjamins and nothing else in my opinion. Too bad.
