WASHINGTON - Democratic lawmakers leading an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump have heard days of testimony from a parade of senior government officials. But they have yet to hear from the whistleblower who sparked the probe. And it may stay that way. In the end, it may not matter, some Democratic lawmakers said, because the other officials who have testified, Trump's own statements, a trove of texts between top U.S. diplomats, and other White House documents have largely substantiated the whistleblower's complaint that Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate political rival Joe Biden. Barring anything unusual happening, the president’s Electoral College victory could easily surpass his 2016 win over Democrat Hillary Clinton, which came by a 304-227 count. Moody’s based its projections on how consumers feel about their own financial situation, the gains the stock market has achieved during Trump’s tenure and the prospects for unemployment, which has fallen to a 50-year low. Former Vice President Joe Biden frequently became tongue-tied during the Democrat debate on Tuesday night, continuing his gaffe-ridden campaign for president. 1: “Expodentially” At one point, Biden mistakenly pronounced exponentially as “expodentially.” At another point, Biden appeared confused when he talked about people “clipping coupons in the stock market” when talking about the capital gains tax. 2. Bernie Sanders as Putin? Biden also unexpectedly gestured at Bernie Sanders when referring to Vladimir Putin. “Excuse me,” Bernie Sanders interupted, “Vladimir Putin, here?” 3. Which son? Biden defended his son Hunter Biden serving on the board of a Ukrainian energy company but failed to differentiate him from his deceased son Beau Biden, who was the Attorney General of Delaware.

Last week, the Supreme Court took up hearings on three cases in oral arguments that all came down to the definition of the word “sex.” Does it refer to male and female, as it always has in all cultures without the slightest question or debate? Or does it now include the ever-expanding rainbow of all these new gender identities and sexual orientations that people can apparently be, those we are told are totally normal and natural to human experience, but only now are recognizing and making up words for? Such silly questions have now made it all the way the highest levels of our justice system. This is indeed concerning.

Many Americans know Notre Dame as the place where Knute Rockne once coached the football team and George Gipp — played by Ronald Reagan in the movie — was his legendary halfback. It should now also be noted as the place where Attorney General William P. Barr delivered one of the most important speeches any Cabinet official has given in recent times. Imagine your team is backed up on its own 1-yard line. On first down, the quarterback hands the ball off to the fullback in a play cautiously designed to put another few yards between the line of scrimmage and the goal line.

Impeachment as a way to bring the country together? That's what Sen. Cory Booker said at Tuesday night's debate: "So first of all, we must be fair," Booker said. We are talking about ongoing proceedings to remove a sitting president for office. This has got to be about patriotism and nonpartisanship. Look, I share the same sense of urgency of everybody on this stage. I understand the outrage that we all feel, but we have to conduct this process in a way that is honorable, that brings our country together, doesn't rip us apart.

In the most recent Quinnipiac national poll, 90 percent of Democratic voters approved of the party's impeachment inquiry targeting President Trump. So the candidates gathered here for the first debate since House Democrats officially announced an impeachment effort could not reasonably be expected to oppose it. But the presidential candidates have tended to lag behind the most aggressive impeachment advocates in the House, and what was notable Tuesday night was that lag still exists; if there is an impeachment enthusiasm scale running from cautious to gung-ho, some candidates took positions on the cautious end, despite their party's headlong race toward impeachment on Capitol Hill.

President Trump is being excoriated by many on both sides of the political aisle because he is withdrawing troops from Syria. Whether that withdrawal is strategically the right move or not, or whether it is the right time or not, will be debated by future historians. Whichever is the case,

But since she keeps trying to make the same bad argument, it's worth reviewing what's so dishonest about it. Warren, whenever she's asked about whether middle-class taxes would go up, argues that costs would only go up for corporations and the wealthy, but "costs would go down for the middle class." Essentially, she's trying to make the case that because middle-class Americans would be getting free healthcare, their costs would go down overall.
