Fourth Democratic debate's
big winner, 2 surprise

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts was the big winner Tuesday night in Westerville, Ohio in the most crowded presidential debate ever held. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Ind., also delivered strong performances. Former Vice President Joe Biden and the other eight candidates on stage came out the losers in the three-hour Democratic presidential primary debate. Warren’s strong performance will likely solidify her frontrunner status ahead of Biden and Sanders. She emerged the clear winner of the night by showing she was sharp and prepared as she fended off attacks from candidates who were looking to cut into her polling lead.

It's almost like the gathering of Star Wars Alien at the bar. Every one of them looking weird, ugly and criminal. Incredibly, their big front runner, an alleged, fake part Indian who scammed millions of entitlement money from the taxpayers. And that's par for the DNC and the Democrats who's in bed with the Devil.

Wow! The "winner" is... The Pathological Liar? Pathological liars lie even when they don't need to. Isn't her real life story good enough? They make up elaborate stories, way beyond what "average" people experience, and then forget the details, so the next lie is even more stunning. There's also a lie for every new occasion. Before you know it, she's not just a squaw, she's the Chief, chased around a desk by Ted Bundy, rescued by Boudica who is her great- great- great grandmother, and Betty Friedan who had been hiding under the desk. The inmates are running the Dem asylum.

Heraclitus', "rescued by Boudica", is one of the reasons I enjoy this group. Dropped quietly into a comment, it led to reading about a Celtic queen who lead a rebellion against the Romans around AD 60. While typing this comment it occurred to me that the user name "Heraclitus" was obviously more distinctive that the casually chosen "BillyBobBeer" or "MyLeftFoot". Now I'm off to read about a Greek philosopher from the 500 BC time frame. Some smart cookies hang out around here.

I once heard Jonah Goldberg talk about a book in which multiple conservative and multiple liberal authors were asked to write whatever they wanted to about politics and political theory. As Goldberg told the story (or at least as I remember it), the conservative authors collectively presented an array of theoretical musings (libertarian, social conservative, natural law based, etc.). The liberal authors all wrote about how Democrats could win the next election. The Supreme Court is little bit like that. The liberal Justices march basically in lockstep towards whatever result serves liberalism. The conservative Justices seem less single-minded. Most have quirks or hobby horses that cause them,

Volker denied that was the case, noting that Ukrainian leaders did not even know the aid was being withheld and that they believed their relationship with the U.S. was moving along satisfactorily, without them having done anything Trump mentioned in his notorious July 25 phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Sen. Elizabeth Warren deservedly drew heat from several rivals over her stubborn refusal to acknowledge that implementing a $32 trillion plan to provide free health insurance to everybody would require increasing middle-class taxes. But since she keeps trying to make the same bad argument, it's worth reviewing what's so dishonest about it. Warren, whenever she's asked about whether middle-class taxes would go up, argues that costs would only go up for corporations and the wealthy, but "costs would go down for the middle class." Essentially, she's trying to make the case that because middle-class Americans would be getting free healthcare, their costs would go down overall.

Why did it bring on a 44-year-old lawyer who had no experience with Ukraine or natural gas — but happened to be the son of the US vice president who was serving as administration point man on Ukraine? “I think I had as much experience as anybody else on the board …

A federal court in Texas ruled Tuesday that doctors across the nation are not required to perform gender-transition surgeries if they go against their medical judgment or religious beliefs. The decision by U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor reversed a mandate from the Obama administration that required a doctor to perform gender transition procedures on any patient, including a child, even if the doctor believed the procedure could harm the patient, or otherwise face penalties and legal action. In December 2016, six months after the mandate was issued, two different federal courts ruled the policy was an unlawful overreach by a federal agency and likely a violation of religious liberty.
