President Trump’s tax documents were released to ProPublica using New York’s FOIA law and ‘experts’ are already claiming there is evidence of potential fraud. This is precisely why the Democrats are fighting to get Trump’s tax returns – more fodder for the media.ProPublica reviewed tax documents on 4 of Trump’s properties in New York and allege there are discrepancies involving 40 Wall Street and the Trump International Hotel and Tower. The documents show Trump’s businesses in 2017 appeared more profitable to lenders and less profitable to the IRS and tax officials — this is standard operating procedure,

Every Democrat should be branded with a large capital L in their forehead.

The documents for lenders are prepared on a GAAP accrual basis. The ones for taxing authorities are on a tax basis.
Comparing the two is stupid. They show different things.

Story would be the same if they were 1040-EZ's. 10,000 Democrat CPAs can never be wrong. /s

In follow up to #2, FTA "Trump’s 2017 tax document for his building on 40 Wall Street reported his company spent $744,521 on annual property insurance but the loan documents reported his companies spent $457,414 on property insurance that year."
So he pre-paid insurance in 2017 for part of 2018 to get a bigger expense for tax in 2017 and amortized it on the accrual basis on the loan documents? Oh, the horror! His CFO isn't an idiot and saved money -- legally! The horror!

Release of these tax documents is a violation of taxpayer rights and privacy. Those that released them should be pilloried in the public square.

There is potential fraud in every tax document filed in this country. That's because the tax system is hopelessly broken and any two given accountants will come up with a different bottom line. What are you going to do about it democrats, search for a questionable deduction on Trump's returns for the next year? That is not a frivolous question and I am quite sure it would happen.

Why not just do what Harry Reid did: fabricate something about his taxes and just sing it from the mountain tops. The media will play along and the damage will be done. The lemming masses will believe it and will think Trump is guilty if he denies it. It seems to work for the dims every time its tried.

It makes me so angry that anyone can access his tax information or anything else he wants private. How in the heck did Obama keep a wrap on his birth certificate, college records, etc... and not a peep on those. I agree wholeheartedly that whoever did this should be looking through vertical bars in the very near future!

I take the Impeachment Show and, now, the Tax Fraud Show, as signs the Dems are trying to take all the oxygen out of the room before the DOJ IG report issues.

Don't you think that all of his returns do not get the old proctology exam from the IRS and the New York State tax people? He's always under audit, so you know he's going to be squeaky clean, and to be sure, Trump has the finest CPA's in his employ. Like it's been said here on these pages, it's fodder for the media. Regardless, Trump has to fight this all the way.

As much money as Mr. Trump and his family have, I do not doubt that he and his businesses are subjected to routine tax audits. I would think if there were real irregularities with tax filings, the IRS and/or the state's equivalent would have found them by now. And they haven't found them.
I don't believe any of this nonsense. More FAKE news by FAKE news media, who the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.

And Trump does his own taxes. Are democrats... as a rule... there are some foxy, wily ones, but are they all this stupid? Do they actually think this will go somewhere or are just throwing crap thinking something will stick? Every debunked accusation will be another few thousand votes for... the greatest president in my lifetime!!!

Let's see the Clinton Foundation Tax records.
Where is the $140-million fixer fee for the Uranium sale to Putin?
Where is the Haiti Earthquake Relief money that paid for Chelsea's wedding?
Where is the money paid out through intermediaries to Fusion GPS?
How come there are so many deposits in rubles, dinars, euros and yuan?

President Trump donates his entire salary to various causes. If he owed the IRS back taxes on his personal income, they would be the first in line to take theirs. The Corporation is another entity and I'm sure he has the best accounting firm in charge. The ones they should check for Tax fraud are the Clintons. Remember when they left the white House, they decided to take some of the furniture but got caught in the process.
Those two got away with so much.

I find the claim that President trump did something bad on his taxes to be laughable. I say that because if there was it would have been leaked years ago. He Has to spend millions every year on tax lawyers, and I am thinking that he has been audited to death for every tax year for decades with out having anything found that every other person in his tax bracket does. If like I suspect that his lawyers use every loop hole in the book to pay less so what, it’s good to starve the bloated Federal government. The law is the law, let Congress change it if it’s bad.

President Trump is undoubtedly the most investigated president in history. President Trump is hated because he is not a politician. He does not tolerate people that disagree with him but have not real justification for the disagreement. He hates bootlickers and sends them home. Friday will be the big day for the IG report to be released and contain several subjects that will embarrass the Democratic Party.

To add to #6's post, it is also troublesome, on loan applications, when your flow of income is irregular. You can make your best estimate of income, and it will be, technically, fraudulent under the law. That is an area where DJT is most vulnerable, but without evil intent on his part.

I trust ProPublica to know about NY Tax law about as much as I trust Al Qaida to provide security for the nearby Jewish house of worship.

The leftist and liberal Democrats want to make it impossible for any “outsider” Republican business person to run for and be elected President, without expecting to be held to the unbelievably high standard that the Democrats are trying to hold President Trump. Prior President’s were never held to such a high standard that makes it inevitable that at least future Republican Presidents will have their lifetime career business endeavors investigated 24/7 for as long as they hold office. Just about all the Congressional Democrats are liberal lawyer-politicians so of course their pervious lawyerly functions are completely off limits as far as investigations are concerned with they hold elected positions with the federal government. That’s just a small part of the DC UniParty double standard.

Trump has business. He does business deals. How much money he makes on a deal is private to his side of the negotiation. How much money the other side makes is private to them.
The democrats will lie about what is in the tax returns knowing he won't make them public.
Because if he makes them public his future business deals will be impacted.

Tax returns should be a private matter between the taxpayer and the IRS. I'm outraged that we, the taxpayers, don't know which representatives/senators have had to pay off people due to sexual harassment and their bad behavior. That should be made public! I would write my senator, but whenever I do, I just get the impression they don't really read anything I write. They just note the topic and send back a generic letter that doesn't say a damn thing. Just dances around the issue. Term limits, people. Term limits are needed.

Is this the same media which yawned when the news came out that the Clinton Slush Fund Foundation had “forgotten” to declare $10 million to the IRS?

If there were any problems in Trump’s tax returns you can bet your annual salary that the IRS would have found a way to leak them back in 2016.
