This is interesting on the merits but also interesting in that two of the most powerful platforms in right-wing media are promoting it.
I suppose one could argue that Trump handing the G7 to his own business isn’t a textbook emolument since it doesn’t really function as a bribe, which is what the constitutional ban is all about. We don’t want the president receiving fat envelopes from foreign dignitaries for fear that that’ll influence his views on foreign policy.

Senators gave a backhand approval Thursday to President Trump’s border emergency wall-building plans by failing to override his veto.
Ten Republicans sided with Democrats, mustering 53 votes in favor of overturning Mr. Trump — but it was far short of the two-thirds tally needed to actually force the president to retreat.

Women who support President Donald Trump are marching in Washington, DC, and across the country on Thursday with a message for Democrats: “Stop the Impeachment Now.”
Women for America First organized the march which will take place around the Capitol building in D.C. and in dozens of other cities.

The level of political nonsense today from the House of Representatives is off-the-charts. Speaker Pelosi calls a resolution to the House floor to denounce President Trump for removing 28 troops from a foreign war never authorized by the same House.
If Pelosi wants to have a war with Syria, then declare one. Or, Pelosi could call a resolution to the House floor to condemn Turkish President Erdogan for invading Syria. Instead, the House votes to denounce President Trump for getting our military out of the way. The Democrats are the party of war, and a whole bunch of republicans are supporting them. Why? Last week, the D.C.-based newspaper went into crisis management mode to downplay legitimate questions about the senator’s claim that she was fired in the 1970s for being “visibly pregnant.” It has become only more obvious since then.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell briefed Republicans in a closed-door session about how they would conduct a Senate trial if the House sends over articles of impeachment.

Fake News ABC lent its support to the pro-war cause by providing phony footage of an artillery demonstration that it falsely claimed portrayed Kurds being slaughtered.
Since the sixties, Democrats have generally preferred the antiwar side of any issue involving American military action.

Though overall wage growth has seemed to slow down in recent months, hidden in the data is the surge in wages for America’s blue-collar and working-class who are gaining more in pay than all other income groups.

I once heard Jonah Goldberg talk about a book in which multiple conservative and multiple liberal authors were asked to write whatever they wanted to about politics and political theory. As Goldberg told the story (or at least as I remember it), the conservative authors collectively presented an array of theoretical musings (libertarian, social conservative, natural law based, etc.). The liberal authors all wrote about how Democrats could win the next election.

Yesterday I celebrated the one-year anniversary of Elizabeth Warren's triumphant announcement of her genetic heritage. She took a DNA test, and she wanted everybody to know about it. She even made an announcement video to crow (no pun intended) about it. Within hours it turned into a disaster, and she ended up having to go on a humiliating apology tour, groveling to any Native American group who would listen. It was an enormous mistake, and I really enjoyed it. So did the GOP, who also made a note of the anniversary yesterday.
