According to Capitol Hill members, via Politico, House Democrat leadership has taken a climate assessment of democrat House members and Speaker Pelosi announced they will not hold a House impeachment authorization vote. As a direct and specific consequence all committee subpoenas do not carry a penalty for non-compliance.A judicial penalty can only be created if the House votes to authorize an impeachment inquiry. Absent a vote, the Legislative Branch has not established compulsion authority (aka judicial enforcement authority), as they attempt to work through their quasi-constitutional “impeachment inquiry” process.
Instead of subpoenas, Adam Schiff (House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence); Chairman Elijah E. Cummings (Committee on White House

🚨 BREAKING → I just asked the Democrat Majority a simple yes or no question: Has the House been authorized to conduct an impeachment inquiry into @realDonaldTrump?
They refused to even answer the question. The Dems literally cut my mic.
This process is a total sham. pic.twitter.com/GdCpoZ1iom

In other words, this "impeachment" kerfuffle is nothing but carefully orchestrated political theatre, the theatre of the absurd.

If impeachment were as popular as cooked media polls suggest, Pelosi would be rushing to put her vulnerable Trump-district Democrats on record. That she is so obviously desperate to avoid a recorded vote is a sign that impeachment is a political loser. https://t.co/JpbHmlpMCy

A vote for impeachment marks a fork in the road. If Pelosi calls for a vote and it passes, on to the big show with all the finality the dems may or may not want.
If they vote no for impeachment the show is over. Sit down, shut up and forever hold your piece. With no vote this BS can go on forever with the dems constantly wringing their hands and running their mouths thus preventing the president and congress from getting anything done.
Nancy, as the "den mother in charge" you need to gain control of this tantrum.

Why aren't the Republican congresscritters sending out similar letters demanding documents from various Obama minions? They would be just as valid and enforceable as the Democrat congresscritters' letters (i.e., not at all).

So, Rudy G's big FU in response to the subpoena you sent him was justified.
As usual, the whole Impeachment deal was just total theatre....bad theatre at that.

President Trump needs to just start issuing EO's, and tell the world that since the democrats won't legislate, he has to go it alone. All of these letters need to go into the round 'file 13' as soon as they are delivered, in front of the deliverer. It does appear that the country doesn't need a house of representatives, since we haven't, in essence, had one in almost 3 years.

I think the President should stick to his earlier proclamation that NO ONE in his Administration will respond to the Request Letters from Schiff and his Band of Thugs! Any of the Diplomats should also be stopped from showing up to be questioned by Schiff. Just IGNORE this fake impeachment inquiry.

Since when is a secret tribunal Constitutional?
Seems like something out of the Inquisition, except the Inquisition had public hearings.

Oh, they're going through with their EZ Bake impeachment hearing- in order to use the word in every campaign commercial, appearance ,etc.. They are counting on the sheep to believe that he was actually impeached because most of them have no idea how are system works ( and that's NOT just a coincidence- thanks again, NEA).

Someone tell the angry, America hating cow-mouthed Palestinian from Michigan, she's ready to go out and arrest those who dare ignore the subpoenas.

Pelosi will not hold a house vote because if they do and impeachment proceedings are voted down she has a big loss. Additionally, the Republicans can then subpoena people that will give statements in support of President Trump.

I remind you people of the word origin of subpoena.
It is from the Latin - sub means under, poena means penalty. A subpoena means that someone to appear, at a specific time and place, under penalty (of law.)
I would think a federal judge would be miffed and vexed at such an abuse of law.
As an arbitrator, I issued subpoenas, from time to time, with authority granted under the Federal Uniform Arbitration Act, so I speak with some knowledge of the process.
It is clear to me that the dimocrats will run out the clock until next November, with make-believe investigations. I am reminded of John Conyers who, in the House minority, ran 'hearings' in a janitor's closet in the Capitol basement. And C span covered the fraud and fraudster.

What a shameful waste of time by Pelosi's House as the dem pols shirk their oaths to the country and neglect their legislative duties for the country. Voters will not forget their abscence without leave as they instead are obcessed by their evil fantasies of ousting the President. The dem party's efforts to dictate are proving to be a colossal failure.

These chairmen can only send request letters. Compliance is up to the “ideologies” of the recipients, which is undoubtedly why we saw Fiona Hill appear… and Yovanovich, or whatever her name is. Ideology showing.
