It's just too delicious. President Trump ordered U.S. special forces out of Syria to a chorus of howling Democrats and all the old, experienced hands at State and, supposedly, the military. (I had doubts as well.) Democrats yelled that all hell was about to break loose. The Pentagon pulled its hair. Europe trembled and blanched. The Mideast girded for something awful.Everybody thought we had to keep our officearound so the Turks wouldn't invade Northern Syria and kill off all the Kurds. Everybody wanted them to negotiate with the Kurds and figured the only way to do that was little by little,

Interesting encapsulation, though short article. Best two parts: Link to long, detailed article by Conservative Treehouse and last sentence in the article.

Amazing what can be done by a President who puts this country first. All other former Presidents alive today look small in comparison and this is all done simultaneously while fighting a war with the media and their lapdog politicians who are determined to destroy him. Thank God we the people voted to elect this guy and will do it again in 2020. To do anything else would be suicide. Now more than ever, Trump 2020!

I don't know if President Trump is a master strategist, and I'm not sure whether he is driven more by political instinct or intellectual calculation. What I do know is President Trump is right more often than I am.
I didn't think he would win the nomination, and I was absolutely positive he was going to lose the election. Once elected, I was pretty sure he would move to the center and triangulate with Democrats by targeting us.
All wrong.
President Trump has been the most effective and reliable force for the conservative agenda in my lifetime. conservative policy. He says things no other Republican would and accomplishes things no other Republican could.
President Trump has earned my trust and my support. I have learned not to judge him until the game has been played out. Whenever Trump does something unexpected now, I think "Watch and wait; listen and learn."
Words to live by in the extraordinary era of President Donald J. Trump.

FTA - "Only Donald Trump saw it — just as only Donald Trump got North Korea to the table, forced the Chinese to play fair, and got the Mexicans to handle the immigrant caravans on our southern border. Trump once again exhibits strategic insight not seen in the White House since George Washington."
As I thought, the President displayed brilliance here. When Erdogan became woke, he realized too late that Trump put him and Turkey in a box politically, economically, and militarily.
Anytime the dims, the msm, and the deep state are opposite of the President, this means the President was right. And right he was...yet once again.
Kudos, Mr. President.

I think that, in a way, Trump gets lucky on these things...but he positions himself so that the luck can come his way. He understands a saying from the Clinton years that even Clinton did not understand..."It's the economy, stupid". Clinton understood that applied to domestic politics, but Trump understands that it applies to international relations as well. Where Trump has gotten lucky has been several occasions where he applied economic pressure as part of a long-term strategy, but factors outside of his control that there was no way to see coming made that economic pressure have immediate results rather than long-term.

The reality of most of the trouble spots of the world is that they ARE trouble spots because they are never definitively confronted. Not necessarily through warfare but by whatever mechanism used, it is massive and lethal. Economic destruction can be lethal as well. It can either destroy a regime or a Country as a whole. With ISIS, it was a group of people, not an organized government. The solution was to KILL the combatants, not let them sneak off and regroup. In Iran, it is economic strangulation. In China, a dope slap and a wake up call; the US is, by far, the BIG DOG, and we will insist on fair trade, something China has been violating for decades.
Trump will not put up with the baloney. He is a master analyst of situations and bold in action. Don't forget that Trump was at the New York Military Academy boarding school for several years. Analytical thinking was certainly a part of his education. He perceives THE focus point of a situation and acts. Usually he is right and since his goals are usually modest it is easy for his opposition to accommodate him and get out a bind. The funny thing is, he always gives them an out before the pain begins. So many of them choose to suffer. You would think they would learn by now.

Sorry, there is no ‘luck’ involved or needed when we seek God first [The First Commandment] as President Trump and VP Pence do daily...

I think President Trump is a gambler, and has been one all his life. He’s not a policy wonk or a political strategist. But, he is a master at reading people and situations, and then weighing his options before he takes a calculated risk. The odds may not be in his favor, except for his enormous intuitive gift, which usually gives him the edge. He is a fascinating man to watch.

Erdogan took one look at Iran and realized that the old adage of hitting them in the wallet is the most effective strategy of them all. Like it or not, the US is the big kid on the block and you don't make him mad without serious repercussions. Trump is the Master and the world is slowly catching on. It's not just his superb business sense, there's real leadership there. The remark about Andrew Malcolm usually being level-headed is a bit of a stretch. The guy is like an old woman who just witnessed a dog peeing on her flowers.

And the idiots on the left still think that PDT is a moron. Isn’t it amazing how a moron can build a multi-billion dollar real estate empire and then run rings around the leftists on every issue? I hope that they keep underestimating him right up until January 2025.

The lefties that protested to abandon Vietnam for years are how for endless war, as shown by the Democrat Clowns during debate last night. President Trump is wise and realizes that the civil war was won months ago by the Syrian government. Assad troops should now defend their own territory. Turkey will bleed itself dry. The Europeans are revealed as impotent right before trade negotiations. Our Syrian Kurds are Marxists as you may know. The sky is falling because we removed 50 special forces sandwiched between two armies.

President Trump ordering the removal of 28 US solders from the border area of Northern Syria after the Turkish President told Trump he was going to imminently invade Northern Syria militarily was actually the genesis of the “heart attack” that we have just seen suffered by the Democrats, the “Chickenhawk” Republicans and neocons, and members of the diplomatic and military bureaucracies in DC. That according to comments just made by Trump, who may have saved some of those US soldiers lives by getting them out of the way of the Turkish invasion, while apparently kick starting negotiations by the regional parties involved in that endless Middle East War that Obama got the USA into in Syria. The politics of what is happening outside the DC beltway are with Trump, as the American people do not want to the US military to continue to sustain terrific injuries and deaths in endless Islamic Middle East Wars that have little to do with US national security. The argument is being made that if the USA does not continue fighting in Middle East Wars that the Islamist terrorists will come to the USA to plan and carry out 9/11 style terrorist attacks. But those terrorists can only get into the USA if the USA does not implement and enforce competent immigration laws and fails to defend America’s borders, and not the Syrian-Turkish Border That is just common sense.

Trump sees the REAL economic power of the USA, when used properly, can be just as effective, and far, far cheaper in both blood and treasure, than military power.
