The UAE, for instance, has Israeli advisors on the ground who are helping with air defense, and an Iron Dome battery is based in the UAE. During the 12-Day War, several Arab countries shot down Iranian drones aimed at Israel. An Israeli air defense system deployed to the UAE was used to intercept an Iranian missile today, CNN reports.

Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson conceded this week to violating state ethics law, agreeing to accept a $4,000 fine for letting his former chief strategy officer take a taxpayer-funded flight with him last year.
The order Ferguson signed earlier this week could resolve a complaint the state Executive Ethics Board received last July, alleging that the governor misused state resources and gave the former advisor, Mike Webb, special privileges.
The board will consider approving the agreement during a meeting on May 8.
If approved, Ferguson will face a $4,000 fine, with half suspended if he pays $2,000 within 45 days—

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said on Sunday that the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey goes beyond his "8647" Instagram post about President Trump.

One week after the former president successfully gaslit a small majority of Virginians into voting for a redistricting initiative that got rid of the state’s two majority-minority congressional districts, he has the gall to condemn the Supreme Court’s ruling against the practice of redistricting along racial lines.
He doesn’t really care about giving black voters better representation—he cares about the Democrats’ grasp for raw, naked political power, by any means necessary.
While the Constitution generally prohibits sorting citizens based on race, lower courts have long interpreted the Voting Rights Act of 1965 as effectively mandating redistricting along racial lines.
If the title of this column seems to exaggerate the potential impact of last week’s Supreme Court ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, it’s probably because most political pundits have focused on its effect below the Mason-Dixon Line. But the majority-minority congressional districts that will need to be altered pursuant to the Court’s ruling are far more pervasive than most realize. Ballotpedia, using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 American Community Survey, estimates that these racially gerrymandered districts account for 148 seats in the House of Representatives. This is about one third of the House’s 435 districts.
