A federal judge appointed by President Joe Biden, with an activist past, last week blocked the Trump administration’s termination of protected status for Yemeni immigrants to the United States.
Before serving on the bench, Judge Dale Ho of the Southern District of New York, who once jokingly said he has been caricatured as a “wild-eyed sort of leftist,” was a lawyer for both the American Civil Liberties Union and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, where he litigated against voter ID laws and against verification of citizenship for voter registration.
On Friday, he temporarily halted the Department of Homeland Security from terminating the temporary legal status of about 3,000 Yemeni immigrants.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., on Sunday urged the Trump administration to cut off federal funding to the University of Michigan after a professor appeared to praise anti‑Israel student activists who illegally set up a campus encampment following Oct. 7, 2023.
“It’s unacceptable for any university professor to praise chaos that glorified America’s enemies, justified violence, and terrorized Jewish students,” Scott wrote Saturday on X. “If this is what Americans are paying for, it’s time to cut them off COMPLETELY.” According to the university’s website, the University of Michigan received at least $1.17 billionopens in a new tab in federal taxpayer funding during fiscal year 2024.

United States' National Transportation Safety Board report said a review of flight data supports the belief that a China Eastern flight deliberately crashed in China four years ago, killing all 132 people on board.
The data was taken from the Boeing 737-800 passenger jet's flight data recorder, which was taken from the crash site in the remote Guangxi region of China and sent to Washington, D.C., for analysis.
The U.S. is involved in the investigation because Boeing is an American company.
The flight data showed that the fuel switches to both jet engines were moved from the run position to the cutoff position,

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis mockingly branded Zohran Mamdani one of his “realtors of the year” – predicting that New York City’s socialist mayor will continue to drive taxpayers out of New York City and down to the Sunshine State.
DeSantis unleashed the scathing quips in a fireside chat on Monday at the 2026 Milken Institute Global Conference here. In a wide-ranging interview, the former 2024 GOP presidential candidate blasted soaring taxes and runaway spending in big cities like New York, Chicago and California.
“I don’t think it’s good that, like, one guy gets elected mayor and then people feel like they have to flee the city,” DeSantis told me, referring to Mamdani.

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) is already in a precarious position when it comes to keeping his seat in the upcoming midterm elections. His relationship with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) might make things even worse.
Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings revealed that the SPLC contributed over $700,000 to his campaign during the 2020 race, according to Fox News. Oddly enough, this places Ossoff in the same category as the Ku Klux Klan and other white supremacist groups whose leaders have received oodles of cash from the organization.
Ossoff and the SPLC have a longstanding relationship.

The government of Fujairah, one of the seven emirates of the UAE, stated Monday that an Iranian drone strike had led to a significant fire in a significant oil industrial area.
"Competent authorities in the Emirate of Fujairah confirmed a large fire in the Fujairah Petroleum Industries (FOIZ) area, caused by a drone strike originating from Iran," read a statement from the Fujairah Media Office. "Fujairah Civil Defense teams immediately responded to the incident and are continuing their efforts to control it."In a second statement, the Fujairah government confirmed that "three Indian nationals sustained moderate injuries and have been transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment."

As we reported, President Donald Trump imposed a blockade on shipping in and out of Iranian ports. It's put a chokehold on their shipping and the regime's economy. It's obviously been making them very nervous, which is why they put out a new offer to Trump. According to reports, there does appear to be some movement, which would indicate the blockade is working.
The problem? You don't get to the important part — the nuclear part — until you've already pulled back and stopped the war. The second stage is where they would appear to potentially give up the uranium.

Jimmy Kimmel joked about Rudy Giuliani rising from “the grave” in a monologue just days before the former New York City mayor was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
“So last night, America’s mayor, Rudy Giuliani, rose from the grave to weigh in on the ongoing drama involving me,” Kimmel said in a monologue on Tuesday, referencing his ill-timed joke about first lady Melania Trump looking like an “expectant widow” days before the President Trump assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. During “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Kimmel played a clip of Giuliani, 81, remarking on his podcast that the embattled talk show host is —

My colleague Ward Clark reported earlier on Saturday on how Spirit Airlines had finally gone under, after being in financial trouble for years.
But as his story noted, one of the big things that may have contributed to their demise was that the Biden administration moved to block a merger with JetBlue that might have helped both companies: As Ward also wrote, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was the brainchild of Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who celebrated the blocking of the merger in 2024 as a "Biden win for flyers."

President Trump unleashed a fiery but mostly peaceful attack on Democrats Sunday evening, branding them “human garbage” for their latest desperate scheme to meddle in the upcoming midterms.
Trump, in a post on his Truth Social media platform, tore into Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Barack Obama’s former Attorney General Eric Holder after the latter was added to a highly partisan, deceptively named “voter integrity” task force.
Holder, of course, has been a driving force behind the Democrat party's obsession with rigging the electoral map through his and Obama's “Redistricting U.” operation since 2016.

Some of the most infamous killers in history, including John Lennon assassin Mark David Chapman and “Son of Sam” serial murderer David Berkowitz, could soon be freed if Albany passes a pair of woke parole bills, critics warn.
The Elder Parole bill would let violent criminals dodge their minimum sentences, regardless of how heinous their crimes, and be granted early parole hearings after they’ve turned 55 and served 15 years of their sentences.
A second lefty measure, the Fair and Timely Parole bill, would require the state parole board to release convicts regardless of the severity of their crimes unless they are a “current” danger to the public

What if social media were treated like tobacco?
It might sound like a fantasy, but it’s closer to reality than you might think. Last year, Australia became the first country to ban social media for minors. The law passed the Australian parliament by an overwhelming margin and was wildly popular among Australian adults.
Taking a cue, the European Union released an app enabling age verification on social platforms, while a handful of European nations are mulling Australia-style bans. The Canadian government is “very seriously” considering mandatory age limits, while even here in America, the Massachusetts state house recently voted to ban social media for children under 14.
