Even for non-Catholics, the pope is a figure of world significance who can affect politics in every nation around the globe, as Francis, the first pope from Latin America, clearly did. On the latest episode of The Drill Down, hosts Peter Schweizer and Eric Eggers of the Government Accountability Institute avoid theology but instead follow the money the church received from the Biden administration, and it leads to the church’s role in the immigration crisis in the U.S. Schweizer notes that a startling 80 percent of the cardinals who will choose the next pope were appointed by Francis himself. The worldwide breakdown of where those cardinals come from has changed, too.

Cuba on Tuesday once again arrested José Daniel Ferrer, leader of the largest dissident organization in the country, the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), three months after his release. Ferrer’s sister, Ana Belkis Ferrer Garcia, first denounced the arrest of her brother using the activist’s social media accounts, adding that Castro regime officials assaulted Ferrer’s house in Santiago de Cuba, which doubles as UNPACU’s headquarters. The regime thugs reportedly ransacked it and took away Ferrer, his wife Nelva Ismarays Ortega Tamayo, their infant child Daniel José, and other activists.

The FBI reassigned many agents that were photographed kneeling during a 2020 protest after the death of George Floyd. The reassignments are part of President Donald Trump’s efforts to remove “woke” and other politicized elements from within America’s intelligence community. One former FBI official told CNN the reassignments raise concern the bureau bypassed its typical disciplinary process, which can reportedly take months or more than a year to review incidents.

American taxpayers must continue funding attorneys for Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) facing deportation, United States District Judge Araceli Martinez Olguin has ruled. Olguin, born in Mexico City, Mexico, and appointed to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, has issued a nationwide injunction blocking President Donald Trump from ending taxpayer funds being used to pay for lawyers for UACs. The Trump administration had sought to get Olguin thrown off the case, revealing that she once worked as a managing attorney for one of the lead plaintiffs in the case, Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto. Attorneys for the Trump administration said Olguin’s handling of the case presents an

Tucker Carlson has claimed Michelle Obama hates her husband Barack, and that people like her, who aren't happily married, are to blame for society's collapse. The former Fox News anchor made the blistering comments on The Megyn Kelly Show as he discussed the Obama's much-talked about 30-year marriage. Carlson said former First Lady Michelle 'really dislikes her husband and it's super obvious.' " I'm not just saying that to be catty... I think I'm trying to feel compassion for her but her hostility toward the guy is unbelievable.' The conservative pundit went on to claim 'there's nothing more destabilizing than an unhappy marriage' and that's why he believes Michelle's

The Department of Transportation is “not going to fund” projects for states or localities if they continue to give licenses to illegal immigrants or continue diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said during a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. “We have what is called follow the law. We have so many states and municipalities that don’t follow the law,” Duffy said. “So whether it’s DEI — discriminating against Americans — whether they give illegals driver’s license or they’re sanctuary cities or states, if you don’t follow the law, if you’re giving license to illegals, if you’re having DEI policies,

United States District Court Judge Jennifer Thurston, appointed to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California by former President Joe Biden, is blocking Border Patrol Agents across most of California from arresting suspected illegal aliens unless they have a warrant for their arrest. This week, Thurston issued a preliminary injunction that will prevent Border Patrol agents in California’s eastern district, the largest judicial district in the state, from carrying out arrests of suspected illegal aliens without a warrant and halting such arrests unless agents have a “reasonable suspicion” the suspect is an illegal alien.

Citing broken promises and unpaid response costs, the East Palestine City District Board of Education sued Norfolk Southern on Wednesday. The board’s lawsuit wants $30 million to recover losses it says it incurred as a result of the Feb. 3, 2023, train derailment that led to a toxic chemical burn and economic and environmental concerns across two states. “This disaster upended our students’ lives,” East Palestine Superintendent James Rook said in a statement. “Norfolk Southern promised it would not ‘walk away’ and would help our community ‘recover and thrive.’ But Norfolk Southern did walk away from our students. East Palestine has not recovered from the perception of contamination and long-term health consequences.

President Donald Trump’s Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, used the site of former President Joe Biden‘s fake Oval Office to address some members of the new media outlets that have been granted access to the press pool. Leavitt used the fake set to emphasize the difference between the last and current administrations. "This beautiful…auditorium…he used this like it was a fake Oval Office, weirdly, oddly. He was missing in action. He called lids at two in the afternoon!” Leavitt urged. “That is NOT acceptable around here!” she added.

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) has released the results of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) for the 2024 school year. Known as the “Nation’s Report Card,” NAEP assesses the reading and math skills of America’s fourth and eighth graders. The latest report reveals something surprising: after adjusting for demographics, the reading and math scores of students in Mississippi and Louisiana, two heavily Republican states and among the poorest in the nation, have surpassed those in deeply Democratic states such as California and New York.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) sued President Donald Trump on Tuesday in order to prevent the termination of three board members. The CPB helps fund public media corporations such as NPR and PBS, which the Trump administration has targeted as it seeks to cut back on spending. Trump sought to remove three of the five CPB board members from their positions, but the corporation responded with a lawsuit arguing that the president lacks authority to remove board members. Trent Morse, the deputy White House director of presidential personnel for the executive office of the president, sent an email on Monday informing three CPB board members they were "terminated effective immediately."

If you want to know what mass immigration without assimilation produces in a country, look no further than Scotland. Immigrants from Pakistan now constitute an ethno-religious voting bloc in that country with their very own politicians advocating for nakedly sectarian interests. Recently, a video clip from 2022 resurfaced on social media of Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar standing in front of the flag of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan claiming that “change is coming” and forthrightly calling for ethnic and Muslim sectarianism in Scottish politics. Sarwar doesn’t mince words: He wants his people to take control of every level of government in Scotland.
