An Indian man who was in the United States illegally is in custody after a stabbing that took place aboard an airliner on Saturday. Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, 28, is charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm while traveling on an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States, according to a Department of Justice news release. The incident took place aboard a Lufthansa flight from Chicago that had been scheduled to land in Frankfurt, Germany. The incident took place while the plane was over the Atlantic, according to MassNewsLive.

TOKYO — President Trump announced Toyota has promised $10 billion in investments toward new manufacturing plants in the US — urging people to “go out and buy a Toyota” in a wide-ranging speech to sailors aboard the USS George Washington Tuesday in Tokyo Bay. Trump, who is making trade and economic deals a top goal of his three-nation regional tour, said that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told him earlier in the day that the world’s largest car company would pour funds into American manufacturing plants.

The attorneys general of 24 states filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court supporting the Trump administration’s attempt to stop the invasion-through-legal-loophole of “birthright citizenship.” Attorneys general Jonathan Skrmetti, R-Tenn., and Brenna Bird, R-Iowa, led the charge alongside nearly every Republican state attorney general in the country with the 37-page brief asking the nation’s high court to side with the Trump administration’s argument that the 14th Amendment clearly does not allow for any person born on American soil to automatically become an American citizen.
