California Governor Gavin Newsom is doubling down on his support for a California law barring teachers from informing parents of their child’s gender transition after the Supreme Court blocked the law in a temporary order this week.
The law, signed by Newsom in 2024, allowed teachers to withhold information from parents if their student experiences gender dysphoria. The law further requires that teachers use a student’s preferred pronouns.

Setting the stage for a new fight with the White House, New York’s top cop promised “further action” if a hospital system doesn’t resume chemical castration of minors.
Last month, in compliance with President Donald Trump’s executive order that cut off funding for institutions that continued medically maiming children in the name of alphabet activism, NYU Langone Health halted its Transgender Youth Health Program. Now, New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) has given the hospital system until March 11 to restart it, demonstrating “how desperate Democrats are to mutilate your kids.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts, raced to the cameras after leaving a classified Trump administration security briefing.
After Democrats repeatedly complained that President Donald Trump’s administration leaves them out of the loop on security matters, Warren was in a hurry to prove that maybe there is a good reason. Fresh out of a classified security briefing, her first instinct was to turn on a camera and broadcast her thoughts to the entirety of the internet.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - A Santa Clara County jury on Wednesday returned mostly guilty verdicts in the case of "Party Mom" Shannon O'Connor, a Los Gatos woman accused of hosting parties for teens that included alcohol and sexual conduct.
Mostly guilty verdicts
What they're saying:
There were five not guilty results.
But the jury found that O'Connor was guilty on the majority of more than 60 charges against her, including child endangerment and the sexual penetration of an intoxicated child -- the most serious of the charges. There were more than a dozen victims.

An effort by Senate Democrats to put their prerogatives ahead of Middle East peace was defeated Wednesday night.
The war powers resolution failed 47-53, according to the Associated Press.
Although the vote was largely along party lines, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky voted in favor of the resolution to tie President Donald Trump’s hands, while Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania voted to let Trump wage war as he sees fit. “Democrats would rather obstruct Donald Trump than obliterate Iran’s national nuclear program,” Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming said.

Lou Holtz, the legendary college football coach who led Notre Dame to their last national championship, has died.
He was 89 years old.
Holtz entered hospice care earlier this year but remained in high spirits as he entered the final phase of his life. A life that certainly left its mark on the world of college football, as Holtz first gained national prominence guiding the Arkansas Razorbacks to an 11-1 record and a thrilling bowl victory over Oklahoma.
While Holtz would have his greatest moment by winning a national championship at Notre Dame in 1988, he would amass a record of dominance in his 40 years as a head coach.

Federal prosecutors in U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro's office are dropping a criminal probe into whether former President Joe Biden and his aides unlawfully used an autopen to issue pardons, a person briefed on the matter told CBS News.
Two sources confirmed the existence of the probe, with one telling CBS News that the matter has since been closed because prosecutors were never able to find a legal hook to be able to pursue the matter further. CBS News has not determined precisely when the case ended.
Last June, President Trump ordered an investigation into whether the Biden administration used an autopen machine to sign key presidential documents like pardons

We’re all aware of a sickness in our public life right now. To be honest, I'd call it much more of a spiritual attack from darkness. But at the very least, it's a widespread cultural delusion of gender ideology. The symptoms are not coming from the parents who are asking hard questions. It is coming from the people who cannot tolerate those questions.
This week, video surfaced of Madeline Mann, a UCSF administrator, threatening to kill a woman for speaking out against gender transition surgeries on minors. The target was Beth Bourne, a mother who has been critical of medical interventions pushed on children struggling with gender dysphoria.

A major talking point among Democrats and their media handmaidens is that President Trump launched a “war of choice” against Iran.
Given American casualties and the earth-rattling impact, the criticism could be a powerful political argument in the midterm elections — if it’s true.
But it’s not true.
In fact, we now can be certain that the war on Iran is not a war of choice.
It is instead a war of American self-defense and maybe even a war of survival for Western civilization and Israel.

The B-52 Stratofortress bomber, often affectionately referred to as the "Big, Ugly, Fat Fellow," or BUFF, is an aircraft whose design history begins at the end of World War 2. The first B-52 bombers were delivered to the United States Air Force in the early 1950s, and the newer marks of that magnificent warbird are still flying today. There's a good reason for the long service of this wonderful warbird; it may not be as slick, as fast, or as fancy as newer aircraft, but if you need a few dozen square miles of countryside destroyed and you need it destroyed right now, the BUFF can get that done.

Policymakers often argue over whether capitalism works and how aggressively it should be restrained. But they rarely ask the more pertinent question: where, exactly, does large-scale laissez-faire capitalism even exist?
The uncomfortable answer is that in the 21st century, it barely does. Across sectors, federal policy does not merely regulate at the margins; it often coordinates at scale, sometimes through forms of rulemaking that do not appear in the traditional Federal Register. Shame on the Democrats.
As Operation Epic Fury enters its fifth day, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth offered an update this morning, and it's a good one: "America is winning. Decisively, devastatingly, and without mercy," Hegseth said in his opening remarks. Israeli intelligence hacked into Tehran’s traffic camera network years ago to monitor the bodyguards of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior Iranian officials ahead of the supreme leader’s assassination, according to a newly released report.
The Financial Times reported that Israel’s Mossad intelligence organization gained access to the cameras, which form part of Iran’s surveillance apparatus used to identify and pursue protesters and regime opponents. One camera was positioned to show where members of Khamenei’s security team parked their vehicles.
Through the footage, Israeli intelligence compiled files on the guards’ home addresses, work schedules, and protection assignments.

As my RedState colleague Brad Slager documented, many mainstream media outlets rushed to report on how Shajarah Tayyebeh, a girls' elementary school in southern Iran, had been hit on Saturday, with unverified claims from Iranian officials that it was "bombed in broad daylight, when packed with young pupils" after the start of Operation Epic Fury.
Brad noted in his write-up that the suggestion/insinuation from these same Iranian regime officials that it was a deliberate "strike" on the school by the U.S. and Israel was not initially met with the appropriate amount of media skepticism from U.S.-based outlets that such claims warranted.

Credit markets tend to unravel at the margins first. What begins as stress in a few vulnerable industries can, under the right macroeconomic conditions, morph into something broader and more systemic. That risk is becoming more salient as stagflation concerns -- a toxic combination of slower growth and stickier inflation which hasn’t been seen since the 1970s -- re-enter the conversation. In such an environment, the leveraged loan market is often the first pressure point. These floating-rate loans, typically issued by below-investment grade companies, are especially sensitive to higher interest costs and softer demand. Recently, cracks that began in tariff-exposed chemical producers spread to auto-related borrowers,

Republican voters’ routine apathy to the primary process has permitted RINOs to hijack the party and stonewall conservative priorities. Conservatives are about to have the chance to oust some of the Republican Party’s worst elected officials. The question is: Will they take it?
Primary elections to decide which Republicans will run in the 2026 midterms are now officially underway, with the states of Arkansas, North Carolina, and Texas each holding such elections on Tuesday. The states are the nation’s first primary contests for the 2026 cycle —

Prices, payment flows, entry conditions, risk allocation, technology adoption, and even product, service, and infrastructure design are often administered from the top down.

Former New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira is projected to win his Republican House primary race in Texas.
Teixeira, who helped the Bronx Bombers to a victory in the 2009 World Series, was leading his closest opponent in the Texas 21st Congressional District primary by a 61.4%-10.1% margin when the Associated Press called the race.
“This is a huge victory, and I’m truly honored to have such strong support from the people of TX-21. Thank you!” Teixeira wrote on X. “I’m so grateful to everyone who voted, put in the work, donated, and especially prayed for us along the way,” the former baseball star continued.

The Trump Administration has listed dozens of examples of Iranian terrorism aimed at American citizens and soldiers over the past nearly five decades, but a significant omission was the Iranian regime's years of collusion with the Taliban to kill U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
The White House on Monday released a lengthy fact sheet titled “The Iranian Regime’s Decades of Terrorism Against American Citizens.” The Trump administration document laid out Iran’s lengthy history of targeting and attacking U.S. troops, diplomats, and citizens — including Iran’s role in the deaths of more than 600 U.S. service members during the war in Iraq —

The Trump administration has been waging war on drug cartels, and the president has pressured countries he deems responsible for illegal substances crossing the border to co-operate. The US has joined forces in Ecuador in operations against "narcoterrorists" responsible for alleged illegal drug trafficking.
The military's southern command, which operates in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, made the announcement with little fanfare on social media.
Commander Francis Donovan said: "We commend the men and women of the Ecuadorian armed forces for their unwavering commitment to this fight, demonstrating courage and resolve through continued actions against narcoterrorists in their country."
Ecuador's defence ministry refused to share details of the operations.

American and Israeli forces have struck nearly 2,000 targets in Iran with more than 2,000 munitions in the first 100 hours of Operation Epic Fury, also named Roaring Lion by Tel Aviv, the commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said Tuesday.
Meanwhile, top Trump administration officials told Congress to expect an even larger wave of strikes in the coming days. CENTCOM: Operation Epic Fury doubled scale of Iraq's 'shock and awe'
Adm. Brad Cooper, leader of U.S. Central Command, stated that more than 50,000 U.S. troops, 200 fighter aircraft, two aircraft carriers, and long-range bombers are participating in the operation, the largest U.S. military buildup in the Middle East in a generation.

Texas Republican congressional candidate and state Rep. Steve Toth defeated Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) in the primary election for Texas’s 2nd Congressional District.
In a press release, Toth expressed that “voters want a representative” in Washington, DC, “who will stand firm in his convictions” and “fight for his constituents,” according to the Texas Tribune.
“Congressional District 2 voters want a representative in D.C. who will stand firm in his convictions, fight for his constituents, and follow through on his promises,” Toth said. “I won’t let them down.”

Texas state Rep. James Talarico secured a victory over Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the Democrat primary for U.S. Senate on Tuesday, overturning weeks of polling that had shown the Dallas congresswoman with a significant advantage in the race to determine the party’s nominee in the 2026 contest for the seat currently held by Republican Sen. John Cornyn.
Recent polling ahead of the March 3 primary showed Crockett leading. A University of Texas at Tyler poll conducted Feb. 13–22 surveyed 1,117 registered voters and 959 likely voters and found Crockett with 55 percent support compared to Talarico’s 37 percent, outside the poll’s 3.2-point margin of error

Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) has been a lightning rod for criticism due to her outlandish statements, ever-changing accents, and generally reprehensible behavior. Yet somehow, she thought she was ready for the United States Senate.
The voters are weighing in, and their answer so far is: yeah, maybe not so much.
Although the official vote count has not been made final, Crockett trails at this hour to her competitor, TX state representative James Talarico. There’s already some legal back and forth, and courts are involved, so the final outcome may not be confirmed for days. Already, though, Crockett is blaming her poor performance on… election fraud.
Wait, I thought it was a danger

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) backed the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran without hesitation, calling Operation Epic Fury entirely appropriate, and said eliminating Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the un-alived supreme leader of Iran, removed one of the most dangerous figures in modern history.
President Donald Trump confirmed the mission targeted senior regime leadership gathered in Tehran, with early reports stating roughly 40 to 50 of the top Iranian officials were killed in the attack's early wave. Fetterman didn't hedge, asking why anybody would grieve leaders of a regime tied to terror networks and decades of repression. He said that Americans should recognize the strategic impac

It came as little surprise that, in response to Operation Epic Fury, there quickly followed reports that Iran was threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz. As our Ward Clark noted at the time:
The Strait of Hormuz is a major shipping lane and a critical bottleneck connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. Iran controls the northern shore of the strait, while the southern side is formed by the Musandam Peninsula, belonging to Oman, with nearby coastline also held by the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates, we might note, are probably peeved at having been the apparent target of Iranian missiles

The commander of U.S. Central Command on Tuesday released a new operational update on Operation Epic Fury, outlining the scale of the ongoing U.S.-led military campaign targeting Iranian missile systems, naval assets, and military infrastructure.
In a video message posted by CENTCOM on X, Adm. Brad Cooper said the operation is now in its fourth day and involves a massive concentration of U.S. forces across the region. The update comes as U.S. and Israeli forces continue a fast-moving military campaign against Iran following several days of escalating conflict across the region. Operation Epic Fury has quickly developed into one of the largest American military deployments in the Middle East in years,

“We are not going to have election results tonight in Dallas County,” Democratic Senate candidate Jasmine Crockett told supporters late Tuesday just after primary polls closed in Texas “Unfortunately, this is what Republicans like to do,” the savvy Texas Congresswoman added of the legal confusion that had enveloped the contest on a night of elections in the Lone Star state, North Carolina and Arkansas.
“People have been disenfranchised!”
In one of the most watched Senate races of the primaries and the November midterms, Crockett’s remarks came just as a slew of votes from her stronghold of Dallas County came in and significantly cut the state lead

Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) has projected that Republicans will be headed to a runoff in the Texas Senate primary after no candidate passed the 50-percent-plus-one-vote threshold necessary to win the nomination. With more 65 percent of the vote counted, incumbent Sen. John Cornyn sits at 43.2 percent, with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton garnering 40.3 percent, and Rep. Wesley Hunt (TX-38) clocking in a distant third at 12.9 percent.
Cornyn and Paxton will now face off again on May 26. John Cornyn has been in the fight of his political life to hold onto the U.S. Senate seat he has occupied since 2002. Polls have shown him neck-and-neck

Secretary of State Marco Rubio graciously went to the microphones just off the Senate subway ahead of a late Tuesday afternoon briefing for senators about the U.S. war on Iran and, in a wholly predictable development, was shouted at repeatedly like a drunkard by CNN’s Manu Raju, who tried to further peddle the liberal media-wide lie that Rubio had said Monday the U.S. was dragged into the war by Israel.
Despite having yelled repeatedly at Rubio and even after other reporters had been called on, the secretary made Raju seat until the back-end of the media availability.

The US has delivered “overwhelming and unprecedented” strikes into Iran in the first 100 hours of "Operation Epic Fury", the US commander in charge of combat operations in the region said. To put things in perspective, Admiral Brad Cooper said the initial 24 hours of the February 28 Iran strikes were double the scale of “Shock-and-Awe” strikes on 2003 in Iraq. “We continue with 24/7 strikes into Iran from seabed to space and cyberspace,” Cooper said. "In simple terms, we're focused on shooting all the things that can shoot at us... We're also sinking the Iranian Navy, the entire navy."
