Texas state Rep. James Talarico secured a victory over Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the Democrat primary for U.S. Senate on Tuesday, overturning weeks of polling that had shown the Dallas congresswoman with a significant advantage in the race to determine the party’s nominee in the 2026 contest for the seat currently held by Republican Sen. John Cornyn.
Recent polling ahead of the March 3 primary showed Crockett leading. A University of Texas at Tyler poll conducted Feb. 13–22 surveyed 1,117 registered voters and 959 likely voters and found Crockett with 55 percent support compared to Talarico’s 37 percent, outside the poll’s 3.2-point margin of error

The good news is that she was turned away from the Senate race. But is she still in Congress?

More good news! We hope she moves OUT of Texas for someplace like her politics, such as Chicago, where she'll fit right in. We don't need her racist Representation of Texans in our politics.

Crockett no longer has a district carved out for her, so she won't continue as a congress critter. Here's all you need to know about phony Talarico, FTA:
On his campaign website’s “Freedom, Family & Faith” page, Talarico describes himself as “a Presbyterian seminarian studying to become a pastor” and writes that his “faith in Jesus leads me to reject Christian Nationalism and commit myself to the project of democracy.” The page also lists policy priorities including “restore reproductive freedom with federal legislation to codify Roe v. Wade” and “defend the separation of church and state and continue to speak out against those who twist the meaning of faith to hurt our neighbors.”
Let me summarize the above: he wants to use his position in the Senate to pervert the Gospel, advance and defend killing babies, and persecute real Christians.

Come next January, she is out of politics. Unless until she runs for some other office. She is not the type to survive in the private sector.

How could pollsters be so wrong unless they were trying to influence an election by depressing turnout because of their polls, people thinking, why vote if Crockett is so far ahead.

I believe she will be in Congress until January 2027. Remember, Texas had the Congressional redistricting and her district is gone.

Oh, so tragically (boo hoo), she is going the way of Beto though she never amassed his war chest of political monies. I guess, even Hollywood types aren't THAT foolish with their money - at least not twice. Never fear though, her ego won't permit being ignored and alone.

I wanted Crockett to win the primary. Talarico is dangerous. He is going to be extremely well financed.

Talarico is a fake friendly “Christian” guy in the mold of Jimmy Carter aimed at swaying moronic low-info evangelicals who should know better, but who will be turned off by Paxton’s rough edges.
No, for clarity, I am not calling evangelicals, writ large, morons. But there’s a subset that is swayed by the nice-guy, doesn’t cuss, act.

Texans had to choose the lesser evil. Token loud mouth or fanged snake in clerical garb. Keep Talerico in the light so he trips before the next election. Texans, enjoy your Greg Walden.

'polling conducted Feb. 13–22 including 959 likely voters had Crockett at 55 percent to Talarico’s 37 percent". Just another example of polling manipulated to show support that isn't there in order to build momentum or supress voter turnout as the "cause is lost". Same as the polling showing 64% of Americans do not support Trumps tarriffs.

The polls versus the results again proves that who you ask and how you phrase the questions can produce the results you want. Polling has become so biased that it is hard to find one you can rely upon.

Talarico is much more dangerous than Crockett. She is a caricature, a buffoon, and everyone knows it, and nobody takes here seriously. Talarico, however, is a smooth-tongued, serpent in clerical trappings. Assuming half of the republican voters who voted for Hunt in the primary (he got 13% of the vote) vote for Paxton, we'll have a Paxton/Talarico contest in the general election. Personally, I'd rather have Paxton than Cornyn as Senator, but Paxton is a much easier target for Dem attack ads. He's got lots of rough edges and baggage. Lots of the 'baggage' was Dem-manufactured BS, like his indictment by radical Travis County DA (which he beat), and his impeachment (which he beat), those are clubs that will be used to beat him over the head with in the general. So do we go with smarmy-but-safe Cornyn or take a chance on new blood?

It's always "good riddance" when someone like Jazzy will no longer hold office.
Talarico is a smooth talking snake oil salesman no doubt but what Texas, and the U.S. Senate, need is Paxton to beat Cornyn in the runoff in May. Imo, the only reason Hunt was in the primary was to syphon votes from Paxton. I'm positive the establishment Rinos were hoping Hunt would take enough votes from Paxton to get Cornyn nominated. Now those same establishment Rinos are sweating because they don't have someone to kneecap Paxton.
As far as Paxton's baggage, they tried to railroad him very similarly to what happened to President Trump, except in the case of Paxton it was the establishment Republicans who were trying to get rid of him. And I'm not talking about marital infidelity. That didn't make Paxton look very good, but it also isn't a disqualifier. But everyone should know, the Democrats, Enemedia, and establishment Republicans will be spending big $ in the next two months to tell everyone how sinister Paxton is. I'm not concerned about it though since Paxton has won big primaries and big elections already and I think the people of Texas will take note of exactly who is funding the negative campaigning. That's my two cents anyways.

Well so much for the veracity and integrity of the University of Texas polling capabilities. The outcome was nowhere near the margin of error of the poll just 2 weeks earlier.
