Jill Biden’s infamous “work husband,” Anthony Bernal, just became the latest Biden insider to clam up under oath. On Wednesday, Bernal invoked the Fifth Amendment when dragged before Congress to answer questions about Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline, making him the second close Biden aide to lawyer up and refuse to talk.
Bernal followed the lead of Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s longtime personal physician, who also took the Fifth when pressed for answers. And just like O’Connor, Bernal had nothing to say to reporters on his way out the door.
According to Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), the committee’s legal team

Nothing makes them look more guilty then when they utter that phrase. I know it's a legal measure they can use but for most of us it screams guilty on some level. They are good at lying but even under these circumstance they won't dare lie about this whole mess. So it's the 5th Amendment.

By taking the 5th, those b@stards are laughing at us. Hiding behind the very Constitution they're so bound & determined to erase, there can be no doubt criminal acts were committed. Surely the CIA has some kind of interrogation method to force them to spill the beans-where do you draw the line when the commission of treason is a very high probability? If these high-ranking members of the fed gvt ar held to a higher standard than the rest of us hoi polloi, THEN HOLD THEM TO IT.

Taking the 5th is proof that they DID and know they did, clear criminal acts. They are terrified of the consequences. So, keep on pushing. Find one of them who is the weakest, and offer immunity (limited, narrow) to strip away their 5th Amendment rights, and, in exchange for their immunity, get them to testify against the others.

Stop messing around, they have a clear game plan they are employing against the Republican questions.
Subpoena their phone, email and any other devices that they and every staffer, intern, etc. used during those 4 years.
They are setting precedent if they can essentially put any person in the office, but have a team of people who operate as POTUS for all intents and purposes, except the ceremonial aspects of the job.
It's likely why they weren't too worried about Kamala, it just didn't matter to them who was acting as the President, they actually had all the authority.

So, it's proven ---- then what? What kind of teeth does this committee (or Congress, for that matter) have? Can they recommend prosecution to the DOJ? Would the DOJ say there's no "there", "there"? We've recently learned that they don't mind going that route when it's something inconvenient or uncomfortable for them.

I know it wouldn't be legal, but wouldn't it be fun if, just once, the prosecutor would follow up one of their assertions of the 5th amendment rights as follows: so you admit that answering truthfully would incriminate you?

Three-and a -half-years remain of justice. Grab these miscreants by throat and squeeze until the truth emerges.

PUT THEM IN THE POKEY UNTIL THEY ARE READY TO TALK. They know they can do whatever and there will never be any consequences. It is just sickening.

Not being facetious: someone please tell me, what is the crime that could have been committed?

FTA: Annie Tomasini, Biden’s deputy chief of staff, has agreed through her lawyer to accept a subpoena to testify this Friday, becoming the fifth White House aide to face congressional questioning.
Hoping if I ever get a subpoena I can decide whether or not to accept it...

#11 The number one crime will be using a false signature i.e. forgery.4,000 signatures if there wasn't any illegal payments to go with those requests, I would eat my hat.

Thanks, #13. Yes, just as soon as I hit “Submit” I thought ah, forgery (but then I thought where’s that going if LOL81,000,000 said he “authorized” the signatures?). I never thought of the bribery angle. Well alright then! Maybe they do indeed, for both reasons, have cause to “plead the Fifth”!
