Oakmont Country Club confirmed numerous reports on Wednesday that Wyndham Clark has been banned from the golf course property. After missing the cut at last month's U.S. Open, a tournament he won two years ago at Los Angeles Country Club, Clark took his anger out on lockers at the prestigious club. One alleged photo of the damage made its way around social media, as two bottom portions of lockers were completely caved in.

I think any golfer can sympathize with the anger but destroying other's property is over the line. I once broke my putter over my knee after missing a short one, but it was my putter. A good lesson since I had to use my pitching wedge as a putter for the rest of the round.

Temper temper. Only to blame is himself.

Inexcusably destroying someone else's private property can cause criminal charges. Wyndham Clark, a U.S. Open champion from 2023, might have done his career more damage than he did to the locker at Oakmont Country Club. This type of no class behavior might threaten his career beyond Oakmont. It should. Who's going to trust him now?
Same as #2, I have broken a club or two over my knee. But the clubs belonged to me, and they needed breaking at the time. I had them reshafted anyway. No one who was brought up right by his parents would ever do damage to a golf course or a clubhouse locker room. What the hell was Clark thinking?

I used to watch quite a bit of golf on the weekends. Then one day, they stopped the Players Championship in the middle of a round because of COVID. I have only seen a few holes played since then. Until this article, I never heard of this player and was shocked to hear that he won the US Open in '23. That's how thoroughly complete my disengagement has become.

Video news recap aged to the next day, which no longer matched the stories in the column that embedded the recap. So the stuff meant to show the damage doesn't even refer to the story any more.

Does everyone know that golf is a heart healthy sport that can support a low tension lifestyle? /s

LACC is a very beautiful old club. i once had privileges there via a family member. Hide did a very nasty stupid thing. I don't blame Oakmont for banning him. Childish tantrums have no place in our world.

Yeah, Wyndham, looks like you have some growing up to do before LACC will allow you back. Good luck.

His nickname is Blow Pig. He apparently pithed some sort of tantrum at Quail Hollow as well. Anger management types are not popular.

US Opens in general and Oakmont in particular are known to be difficult, the USGA would prefer no one finish under par. This year's Open was a bloodbath and little fun to watch, let alone play in. Many excellent shots end up punished instead of rewarded, beyond claustrophobic. Not excusing Clark but yeah, just a slog.

Angry dude got a wife? If so hope he's won a lot of $$ so she can bail on him if he can't control himself.
Don't remember seeing him play up till now. He's going to get BailBondsmen endorsements, Samsonite golf club shafts, Tough-as-Kryptonite golf ball endorsements....

That's the damage? A few cloth screens broken in a few inches on the corners???
I thought you'd see gaping holes, wood doors smashed to smithereens.....looks like he backed into the two doors with a gym bag or similar that broke the cloth plane... Nothing to see folks, move on, get the handyman with a small stapler to tack these 2 corners back on...

The proper way to express your anger is to throw one club into the trees.

From the photo I saw, Clark destroyed panels on locker doors apparently made of cane mesh and rather old. Finding replacements that match the other panels may be difficult.
