Seventeen immigration court judges have been fired in recent days, according to the union that represents them, as the Trump administration pushes forward with its mass deportations of immigrants in the country.
The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, which represents immigration court judges as well as other professionals, said in a news release that 15 judges were fired “without cause” on Friday and another two on Monday. The union said they were working in courts in 10 different states across the country — California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

Having any judge be part of a union is beyond me...

Typical AP reporting... There is no mention of any reasoning for the firings, leaving the reader to imagine there is no reason other than, "I think I'll fire me some judges today!"

I stopped believing anything from AP years ago.
It is odd that Judges would have a union and that it would be called ''the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers''.

They're unprofessional, non-technical....and not engineers? Was that just the first pressure group they thought to join?

It was a big mistake when the government became a union shop.

Hey Rebecca! Trump is deporting people who have entered the U.S. ILLEGALLY. The U.S. welcomes people who come here LEGALLY. Got it?

Too bad Trump can't fire a bunch of District Court Judges and Appeals Court judges. I'm pretty sure a look at the fired judges records might show a pattern of letting illegals go free or granting asylum when it is not warranted.

They were probably fired because they were: 1. leftists 2. idiots 3. letting illegals go...

Very good news we are hearing of firings at some of these agencies. I am disappointed that I have heard of no firings at the FBI and SS.

Looks like a little push back from President Trump...probably a good idea...judges in robes have a high opinion of themselves...and have tied up reform for President Trump....it's become a joke...as soon as President Trump makes a decision...the judges try and block it....so I'm thinking this was probably a good dismissal....and President Trump has every right to dismiss whomever he pleases...I recall Clinton forcing all employees to submit letters of resignation when he took over the White House....

American Judges, [particularly american IMMIGRATION Judges have no business being in an "International" Union. There are...were?...numerous Immigration Judges that were only hearing a handful of cases per year, some only 2-3.... they may be part of this house cleaning. There are others that hear over 1000 cases per year, and the deportation vs allow to remain verdicts for some are near 100% expulsion, while others allow near 100% to remain.

So called Immigration Judges are not Judicial Judges they are Administrative Judges who are under the jurisdiction of the US Attorney General who is appointed by the President. Their job is to interpret the US Immigration and Nationality Laws mainly in Deportation Hearings in the Administrative Immigration Courts that are also under the jurisdiction of the US Attorney General. No doubt the particular Immigration Judges who are being “fired” were given those positions as Immigration Judges by the leftist progressive and socialist Democrats who were actually running the Biden White House with “a wink and a nod” understanding that they would always rule in the favor of illegal aliens who appeared before them in accordance with the Biden and leftist progressive and socialist Democrat “open” borders political agenda. We really don’t know how many of those Immigration Judges are actually foreign born liberal lawyers or why the Immigration Judges would be members of an “international” labor union that no doubt is politically aligned with the leftist progressive and socialist Democrats.

I hope he takes a long, hard look at the "Administrative Law Judges" who are under no obligation to follow Social Security Disability law as they hand out billions of dollars reversing decisions made by staff who must follow the law. Do a search for David B. Daugherty, former ALJ in West Virginia. Got caught taking $609,000 in bribes after being paid off for years to approve fake disability claims.
