California Bill Passes to Grab Palisades

California Gov. Gavin Newsom claimed that he did not want to bulldoze the remains of burned-down Palisades houses and replace them with low-income housing. But that is apparently exactly what he’s doing now, with the help of the California legislature—and Donald Trump’s special missions envoy is furious. Richard Grenell accused Newsom of lying about his fire recovery goals. Newsom had scoffed, “The claim that the Governor wants to bulldoze fire victims’ neighborhoods and replace them with ‘affordable housing’ is absurd.” But he just announced over $100 million for building low-income housing in the area of the Palisades and other burned areas, as a bill moves through the California

So Newsome makes it impossible to fight the fire and then steals the property at 'fire sale' prices. Sounds like this was all planned.

CA voters - have you had enough? What is it going to take for you to wise up and tell your government that you are tired of them f-ing you over? And this weazel wants to run for president! Take over your property and turn it into a government run project. And we all know how well that works out. You can just move to NYC where at least the guy running for mayor pretty much lets you know upfront you are dealing with a socialist/communist. This should make you crazy and totally disillusioned. This is wrong on so many levels. If I was his mother I'd slap him hard in the face. Disgusting.

I think the palisades went 70% for Biden. It’s easy to be a progressive democrat when you live in a leafy suburb have plenty of money and don’t have to deal with fallout of defunding the police, save the environment programs etc. Now you’re having voting decisions jammed down your throat and your not liking it.

Only a fool or a terminally ignorant person would believe that all Californians voted for Newsom. I'm hoping that Dems in the Palisades raise hell. Republicans certainly will. This redevelopment scheme has moved very fast after months of nothing. Bass no doubt in cahoots. Drag, drag do nothing...then ram it through in Sacramento.

Pacific Palisades is a deep blue area. These are the people who voted for Newsom and Bass. Do they feel betrayed? I doubt it. People who don't live in California have no idea the contempt wealthy blue voters here have for anything to do with conservatism -- or Republicans. Plus, they actually like Newsom -- they defeated the effort to recall him a few years back. Sad.

I'm thinking the same thing #10!! Welcome to "New Moscow in the Palisades". Look-alike buildings as far as the eye can see, identical apartments, two bedrooms max, one bathroom (hopefully). Or one bathroom per floor. Who knows? In Moscow there are police to keep order; in the Palisades the tenants will be allowed (encouraged?) to run amok. Chaos and crime will be the new normal. I'd start making plans to get out of Dodge before all the U-Hauls are gone.

Its not really low-income housing they want, its high density housing to increase the tax base. Its now a CA state law that developers can come into any area and build high rise housing even if the area has laws against it. Many beach area have height limits like 30ft so the views are not blocked but if the developer includes a few low income units they can ignore local laws and build up hundreds of feet. Its happening all over.

Down in South America they have entire mountains covered with "low income housing". Expansive high density ghettos filled with the cities poor and destitute where gangs rule their little kingdoms. Picture Rio in California. Newsom is trying to make the illegals feel at home. There are a lot more Democrat votes in high density ghettos than lush green suburbs.

There were reports of strange grey people with backpacks in the area. Los Angeles is hosting the Olympics and great things are planned to showcase the city. Anybody revisited Kenosha and Minneapolis? The Army Corps of Engineers made a fabulous effort and has already cleared all the burned homes in record time. Only to be fooled again by our wicked Marxists.

If a Democrat from today were to be transported to the 1960s, he'd be considered a dangerous lunatic." Truer words were never spoken. Once upon a time the Democrat party defended blue-collar workers, the poor, and the middle class. Not that long ago BJ Clinton and Hussein Obama spoke about the necessity of securing the border. America is in crisis, with the left battling the ascendant right, a clash of visions between a socialist nightmare in which America becomes either a feudal, feral combination of California and a communist college campus or we re-make it into something like the glorious, golden country it once was. How does all this end? Leftists in America— and the Democrats are a leftist party that is eagerly embracing admitted communists— seem to be under the impression that normal patriotic Americans have no right to engage in their own self-governance. That’s unsustainable. We’re not giving up our self-determination. The question is whether America resolves this peacefully,

Four hours of gaslighting and cursing. I've watched most of Newsom's latest venture in podcast politics in a four-hour-long Shawn Ryan Show interview. It was a curse-word-filled apologia of his time as governor and how everything is great in LaLa Land. Here are some highlights. Gavin Newsom is in favor of gun control, but he's not. He presided over and encouraged the dumbest decriminalization of felonies, prompting massive theft rings to prey upon shop owners, causing a mass exodus of people and retail outlets, but California is one of the toughest on crime.
