President Donald Trump on Wednesday disowned his supporters who have called for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, chiding them as "weaklings" who "bought into this *" The lengthy post on Truth Social represents the clearest split from the faction of his MAGA base that has questioned the Justice Department’s handling of the case. My "PAST supporters have bought into this “*” hook, line, and sinker," he said in the post, adding, "Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore!"

Trump was wrong about the vaccines, and he is wrong about the need to take down the deep state with this blackmail evidence removed from Epstein's numerous abodes. It is one thing for him to choose to ignore it, another for him to berate those who see what he cannot see. Obviously he never needs my vote again, but if he does not want my support of his agenda, I can certainly comply by not praising his significant efforts in other areas.

Sigh. President Trump is doing a lot of difficult and essential things to save our country from ruin. His lack of discipline in what he says and how he says risks ruining his presidency. My support for him is based on the first sentence above and remains in spite of the second sentence. But he's making it harder than it needs to be.

The thing I have noticed about Trump is - there is one way of seeing an issue, HIS way. Granted, he is usually right. But not always. A little "I understand the view that says...." from him would go a long way. But he resorts to castigation.

#9 is exactly right. President Trump has an inherently adversarial approach to managing anyone who disagrees with him. Better than having a GOPe pushover in the White House getting voluntarily politically perp-walked by the media everyday. But not always easy to like President Trump as much as you support him. There's an old anecdote about President Roosevelt insulting and undermining a fellow Democrat Senator. One of his minions went to mend fences with the Senator and said, "You know Franklin. He's his own worst enemy." The senator replied, "Not anymore."

No doubt Trump feels as if those who so quickly dismiss him and distrust him over the Epstein files are at best fair-weather friends. His first tenure as president was inundated with disloyalty, and in that sense, he doesn't want those people supporting him.

We don't have the foggiest notions whether anyone is blackmailing anyone over Epstein. First of all, he was presumably the blackmailer and he's dead. Too many live in their imagination s, double daring someone to prove them right or wrong... And far too many had simply prurient interest, which is human nature. President Trump has his plate full. Suddenly he has to deal with a bunch of what we called "Sunday afternoon sailers" - good weather. Never bad. No wonder he's fed up.

I think you’re right, #13. He has very little time against a huge number of overwhelmingly important things that MUST be done to save this Republic. That means that he doesn’t have time for the naysayers, and he has to set priorities. He spent his first term, plus these past volatile, disruptive years of his life, dealing with people trying to bring him down. I’m sure it’s hurtful to see people who should know that putting his life and well being on the line every day to achieve what’s best for US, means it is truly a mission to MAGA for the sake of all. Many of the things he is accomplishing engender the notion that he has not only gained the knowledge and wisdom afforded by that experience, but earned the right to make the necessary decisions to achieve the YUGE purpose for which he has endured (still endures!)so much. I believe he has shown that he deserves the trust and loyalty of those Americans for whom he has sacrificed so much. It’s evident that his actions are redounding to the replacing of evil with good on many levels, and for the benefit of many people - including children. Some MAGA supporters are venting frustration against him, and saying all sorts of similar things that he has said about them. But, they’re expecting him to stifle his frustrations with their disloyalty, and take time to try and appease them on this one case. (After all that he’s been through, he may equate disloyalty toward him as disloyalty toward the country, and I, for one, can understand that!) It calls to memory a quote from another POTUS - “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.” Donald John Trump has said about the Deep State, “They are after you. I’m just in the way.” That is never more true than now. Margaret Thatcher, another magnificent leader who was reviled for her stance for the right, once famously said, “This is no time to go wobbly.” Neither is this! We need everyone to stand strong with those who are fighting for right, even if we may disagree how it is being done from time to time. PT has a lot more solid evidence on which to make his decisions than we do. We need to remember that, along with the fact that he has never wavered from doing all in his power to keep his promises. He has his reasons for his decisions on this. I believe he deserves the benefit of the doubt. It seems to me that he wouldn’t hesitate to use Epstein as a weapon to defeat the enemies of MAGA, if he believed he could do whatever is best for the country by doing it. Turning against him only hurts all of US, and helps the “Fundamental Transformers” to regain control. I pray always that God bless, guide, protect and be with PDJT and all of US.

Mr. President, as just someone out in the hinterlands (no social media presence that pays me for a living, and no such plans), all I can say is this: The Democrats created the de-facto two-tiered justice system that we now live under. And the actions of your administration over the past week -- whether intended or not -- have placed the imprimatur of approval of the Republican party on that system. Jeffrey Epstein was the evil-minded "pimp" CEO of an extortion business who delegated tasks to... Ghislane Maxwell, the "madam" COO. In turn, it is believed she coordinated the hookups between "clients" and the exploited women. Epstein is dead and his justice is being administered by a Higher Power. His "clients" are not dead, however, and they should be held accountable for their crimes. It is entirely plausible that Epstein kept no recorded lists; evil geniuses often operate from memory. It is not at all plausible that Ms. Maxwell kept no such records. JP Morgan Bank (Epstein's bank) has also previously supplied transaction data between Epstein and clients. There appears to be plenty of crumb trails to investigate... so why is the case file being closed? And if this does *not* mean that Epstein's clients are in the clear, a public statement to that effect would be quite useful, because right now, that is the appearance of things...

#1 is correct. We expected transparency when the Trump Train rolled in, especially after all of their talk about getting to the bottom of Epstein. The latest statement adds up to a lot of lost votes that he says he doesn't want. I want the winning to continue, especially after the 4 years of torture under Biden. Democrats are counting on a big victory in 2026 to bring their party out of political purgatory, but things aren't exactly going according to plan. CNN's data guru, Harry Enten, offered a "reality check" on Wednesday, citing the current polling numbers compared to what we were seeing in 2018. Traditionally, out-of-power parties have an advantage across multiple fundamentals in midterm elections. That's not materializing, though. Not yet, anyway, and as I'll discuss, that's a big problem for Democrats for one simple reason. I have to wonder how much Enten is liked over at CNN, given his job often becomes quashing the unbridled narratives of his left-wing colleagues.

The rapper was convicted of a prostitution-related charge this month but acquitted of more serious charges. Maurene Comey had previously prosecuted Ghislaine Maxwell, the former associate of Epstein who helped the financier run his child sex trafficking ring.
