at Swiss Swimming Pool Surge After Ban

Officials have claimed that membership sign-ups to a swimming pool in the Swiss municipality of Porrentruy have increased significantly after authorities imposed a ban on foreigners. Last week, the Porrentruy Outdoor Swimming Pool announced that only those with a Swiss passport or a valid residence permit would be allowed access to the facilities following a spate of incidents involving migrants.[snip] A regular patron of the pool told the Swiss news outlet 20 Minutes that there have been frequent arguments between lifeguards and people with a “migrant background” — mostly young men of North African extraction — coming across the border in France over hygiene requirements, such as showering before entering the pool.

Comments:

We need to take a lesson from the Swiss.

The local Lions Club ran a swimming pool when I was growing up. The people of "African descent" complained that requiring membership to enter was racist, so the Lions sold it. (There were other factors.) After decades of success under the Lions, the new owner went bankrupt after one year by allowing anyone in. Police were called all the time for fights, anything not bolted to the concrete was stolen, used to hit others or tossed into windows, etc. On a related note, Carnival Cruises recently implemented a new set of rules to deal with their ghetto reputation, and those responsible for that reputation are whining like crazy.

Ever since Switzerland’s exemption from the Holy Roman Empire in the Peace of Westphalia the Swiss have made a priority of putting their country and people first. Without raw resources they've developed a culture and standards that have worked well for them for nearly 400 years so there's no reason why they shouldn't preserve those. Their citizens spoke and they drew a red line. It should be respected.

We were promised transparency, accountability, and the whole truth regarding the notorious sexual predator, alleged sex trafficker, and well-connected New York financier. What could have been. A year ago this month, Democrats were scrambling for their footing. A few months before that, Joe Biden had been awakened from his afternoon nap, handed a script and told to read some words. It took fifteen takes to complete the video. When it was done, Team Autopen had produced a video challenging Donald Trump to a debate. Bad move. Trump quickly accepted. Joe Biden has always been a fabulist. Since he first stepped onto the national stage, he has woven myths about his life. Joe needed the gravitas of good grades and a solid academic background to move up the ladder of national politics, so he invented a student who never existed. Joe threatened to fight a man who asked about his academic chops and claimed he went to law school on “a full academic scholarship.” Except, he didn’t. He claimed he had three degrees from college. Except, he doesn't. He claimed he was in the “top half” of his law school class. Nope. He was in the “steerage” section

Democrats allocated $20 million to study how to reach out to young men in America, only to arrive at conclusions many are calling painfully predictable. Initial results of the pricey multi-year endeavor to view men like some anthropological study have, thus far, yielded the obvious—that the Democratic party is viewed as weak and inauthentic with their outreach, expressing disdain for males by constantly telling them they need to be ashamed of who they are. I'm sure more than a few readers would have been willing to give that information to the DNC for a fraction of the cost.

Mamdani claimed that his soak-the-rich proposal was “not driven by race” — despite his campaign platform explicitly targeting white homeowners. “That is just a description of what we see right now. It’s not driven by race. It’s more of an assessment of what neighborhoods are being under-taxed versus over-taxed,” Mamdani told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” on Sunday.

None of us ever would have heard of Jeffrey Epstein had the government not brought him up. It was the government that brought charges against him. The government told us that he was “the most prolific child sex trafficker in history.” The government said he was “with intelligence.” The government cut him a sweetheart deal. The government was taken to court by “John Doe” over what the government called “client lists.” The government courts made a ruling about the “client lists” not being released. Senator Dick Durbin blocked the release of the “client list” in the legislative branch of the government. The government said it had “client lists” on its desk.

Republicans only need a majority vote for the legislation to pass.
