Brooke Rollins, secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, could not commit Tuesday to an August deadline for the release of new dietary guidelines for Americans.
"There will be no commitment because we want to make sure its perfect," Rollins said.
"We're working on them; they will be coming soon probably in the coming few months," Rollins said.
In May, Robert F. Kennedy, the secretary of the U.S. Health and Human Services Department, said the guidelines could come as soon as August.[snip]In January, the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Prevention of Underage Drinking issued a draft report on its findings analyzing the impact of alcohol intake on overall health.

Officials have claimed that membership sign-ups to a swimming pool in the Swiss municipality of Porrentruy have increased significantly after authorities imposed a ban on foreigners.
Last week, the Porrentruy Outdoor Swimming Pool announced that only those with a Swiss passport or a valid residence permit would be allowed access to the facilities following a spate of incidents involving migrants.[snip]
A regular patron of the pool told the Swiss news outlet 20 Minutes that there have been frequent arguments between lifeguards and people with a “migrant background” — mostly young men of North African extraction — coming across the border in France over hygiene requirements, such as showering before entering the pool.

What happened to the Jeffrey Epstein case? It’s devolved into the unfinished horse meme. We were promised transparency, accountability, and the whole truth regarding the notorious sexual predator, alleged sex trafficker, and well-connected New York financier. Epstein was well acquainted with the world’s wealthy and influential families. In the summer of 2019, federal agents arrested him on sex trafficking charges. On August 10, 2019, he was found dead in his cell. [snip] It’s a perpetual cycle of being served a big plate of nothing, that started embarrassingly for the new Justice Department

A former Houston mayoral appointee raged at a Texas girls camp for being “white-only’’ — hours after deadly flooding ripped through the facility, killing at least five young campers and leaving 11 more missing.
“I know I’m going to get cancelled for this, but Camp Mystic is a white-only girls’ Christian camp. They don’t even have a token Asian. They don’t have a token Black person. It’s an all-white, white-only conservative Christian camp,” Sade Perkins said in a widely condemned video on her private TikTok account.
“If you ain’t white you ain’t right, you ain’t gettin’ in, you ain’t goin’. Period,” Perkins said —

What could have been.
A year ago this month, Democrats were scrambling for their footing. A few months before that, Joe Biden had been awakened from his afternoon nap, handed a script and told to read some words. It took fifteen takes to complete the video. When it was done, Team Autopen had produced a video challenging Donald Trump to a debate. Bad move. Trump quickly accepted. [snip]
On this July 4th, I am most thankful for a Trump presidency because of the cultural implications of a Harris presidency would have been, well, a Harris presidency.

Joe Biden has always been a fabulist. Since he first stepped onto the national stage, he has woven myths about his life. Joe needed the gravitas of good grades and a solid academic background to move up the ladder of national politics, so he invented a student who never existed.
Joe threatened to fight a man who asked about his academic chops and claimed he went to law school on “a full academic scholarship.” Except, he didn’t. He claimed he had three degrees from college. Except, he doesn't. He claimed he was in the “top half” of his law school class. Nope. He was in the “steerage” section

Democrats allocated $20 million to study how to reach out to young men in America, only to arrive at conclusions many are calling painfully predictable.
Initial results of the pricey multi-year endeavor to view men like some anthropological study have, thus far, yielded the obvious—that the Democratic party is viewed as weak and inauthentic with their outreach, expressing disdain for males by constantly telling them they need to be ashamed of who they are.
I'm sure more than a few readers would have been willing to give that information to the DNC for a fraction of the cost.

Just when you thought the legacy media couldn't sink any deeper, CNN steps up and says, "Hold my beer." The latest in a long series of eye-rollers comes from CNN political commentator Bakari Sellers, who is suggesting there may be some reason to look into revoking the citizenship statuses of all of President Trump's kids.
They're all American citizens, of course, and there's no reason to change that. Sellers is just delivering another dose of hot air, propelled by a gastric system suffering from late-stage Trump Derangement Syndrome.
CNN political commentator Bakari Sellers asked why people aren’t investigating the Trump family’s citizenship status

When I was a kid growing up in Corpus Christi, the world didn’t revolve around screen time limits or wellness plans. It revolved around people, and those people were our neighbors. I knew Mrs. Garza across the street like family. The Palacios kids were always around, and down around the corner was Mrs. Brock, who never minded a few rowdy boys and girls walking by. We'd hang out at the locksmith shop on the corner, get a cold soda and a bag of chips, and talk about everything and nothing. That little world of mine—modest, loud, and connected—did more for my mental health

Police in fire-ravaged Southern California, plan to use drones to catch people who use illegal fireworks on and around the Fourth of July celebrations.
While many, even in California, might ordinarily balk at the use of drones for surveillance and law enforcement, the fact that recent Los Angeles wildfires could have been sparked by illegal fireworks means that many communities are on edge entering Independence Day week.

Socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani doubled down on his plan to jack up property taxes on “richer and whiter neighborhoods” on Sunday — and also asserted that billionaires shouldn’t exist.
Mamdani claimed that his soak-the-rich proposal was “not driven by race” — despite his campaign platform explicitly targeting white homeowners.
“That is just a description of what we see right now. It’s not driven by race. It’s more of an assessment of what neighborhoods are being under-taxed versus over-taxed,” Mamdani told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
