Longtime "60 Minutes" correspondent Steve Kroft and "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart bashed Paramount Global and CBS’ eight-figure settlement with President Donald Trump as giving into a "shakedown" on Monday. Kroft appeared on Paramount-owned Comedy Central to discuss the settlement with Stewart, who didn’t pull punches when discussing his own employer. Kroft, who retired from the show in 2019 after a 30-year run, said his former colleagues are devastated that CBS and its parent company settled Trump’s "election interference" lawsuit. "I think there is a lot of fear over there… fear of losing their job, fear of what’s happening to the country, fear of losing the First Amendment," Kroft said.

Comments:

Well, Steve-o, if you're so afraid of 'losing' the First Amendment, why did you & CBS abuse it so much? Going on air with salacious lies disguised as 'journalism' and then hiding behind the 1st Amendment by citing anonymous sources is what I call MANIPULATION, not reporting. Editing that word salad resonse of Harris's interview to try and make it seem less, well, stupid (for lack of a better word) is misleading at best and deceptive. THAT"S why Paramount had to pay out. And speaking of shakedowns, what do you call all these years of CBS/60 Minutes misrepresenting the truth?

Fine. If you're so bothered by your ethical lapses, then you should resign your employment with CBS. No golden parachute, no buyout, just grab a cardboard box and clean out your desk. I doubt that will happen.

The reason for this and previous settlements is to avoid the DISCOVERY phase of the suit that would expose collusion with the government to intentionally lie to the American people. Collusion that Obama legalized .... but were the monetary kickbacks legal???

"We've got people who are desperately wanting us to do something... no matter what we say, they want [more]," Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Ill., told the outlet.

Everyone talks about transparency. The Democrats don’t like it. They’re all about secrecy and censorship. The right believes in transparency but caves when challenged. So the American people are often left in the dark about most things governmental and are not aware of the rampant duplicity that undergirds everything remotely political. Obviously, the Democrats’ strategy has been well-planned with the confidence that higher courts, especially the SCOTUS, would not interfere with their lawfare. Chief Justice Roberts has reason to be ashamed of Judge James "Jeb" Boasberg; he appointed him to the FISA court.
