SoCal Police to Use Drones to Catch Illegal
Fireworks on July 4

Police in fire-ravaged Southern California, plan to use drones to catch people who use illegal fireworks on and around the Fourth of July celebrations. While many, even in California, might ordinarily balk at the use of drones for surveillance and law enforcement, the fact that recent Los Angeles wildfires could have been sparked by illegal fireworks means that many communities are on edge entering Independence Day week.

Comments:

Understood , but where are the cop drones when revelers and protestors burning down the city?

Is the use of fireworks against law enforcement during andi-ICE riots still okay? Wouldn't want to deprive anybody of their First Amendment rights.

Socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani doubled down on his plan to jack up property taxes on “richer and whiter neighborhoods” on Sunday — and also asserted that billionaires shouldn’t exist. Mamdani claimed that his soak-the-rich proposal was “not driven by race” — despite his campaign platform explicitly targeting white homeowners. “That is just a description of what we see right now. It’s not driven by race. It’s more of an assessment of what neighborhoods are being under-taxed versus over-taxed,” Mamdani told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” on Sunday.

Why do we have so much fraud in our health care system? Because the system’s incentives encourage it — and because authorities often don’t do enough to fight it. One of my recent experiences with the system reinforced those two simple and unsurprising lessons. I feel obligated to share the story of how I stumbled upon a possible Covid testing scam (with names and details omitted for legal purposes), to demonstrate how easy it remains for scammers to manipulate our health care system in ways that raise costs for all of us. The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday handed down its ruling in the parental rights case of Mahmoud v. Taylor. In a 6-3 decision, SCOTUS decided that parents do have the right to opt their elementary school-aged (pre-K through 8th grade) children out of classroom instruction that may include materials on gender and sexuality. The three dissenters were Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson. Writing for the majority, Justice Samuel Alito states that the parents involved were likely to succeed in their claim that the school system, by not allowing the opt-out on LGBTQ-themed classroom activities, was an unconstitutional burden on their religious liberties.

If you haven’t been to New York City before, you missed it. It’s not destroyed, it’s just a mess and not worth visiting. You still could – it’s great place to take the family if you love the smell of fresh urine on hot concrete coupled with potent marijuana, because you smell that combination pretty much everywhere. The city is dying, and we should let it. Progressives are all in favor of assisted suicide, we should join them in the case of New York and help the city kill itself. Only a complete embrace of socialist/fascist/communist policies (and there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the three)

Sheriff Grady Judd says detectives in Polk County seized 64 pounds of fentanyl and arrested eight people in what the sheriff's office calls the largest fentanyl seizure in the county's history. The backstory: Judd says the first of two undercover investigations began in July 2024, and the cases involved Mexico's two largest cartels: Jalisco and Sinaloa. Six suspected Jalisco members and two Sinaloa members have been arrested. A total of 29 pounds of fentanyl were seized from Jalisco and another 35 pounds were seized from Sinaloa, according to Judd – enough to kill 14.5 million people. The sheriff's office says the 64 pounds of fentanyl carried a total value of $4.5 million.

Let me bring you up to speed. As recently as 2018, Jaguar sold 180,833 cars annually. Last year, they sold fewer than 33,000. In April — the most current sales figures available — Jag sold just 49 cars in the massive UK/Europe market. U.S. sales figures aren't available yet, but they aren't any better. Jaguar went from selling 1,961 cars a month to 49 in just six years.
