Director of the New 'Superman' Movie Decides
to Burn It to the Ground Right Before Release

Original Article

Another "Superman" movie is about to be released . . . At the head of the endeavor is director James Gunn, perhaps best known for his work on the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise . . . Which makes his decision to burn all the goodwill around his film to the ground right before its release a real headscratcher. During a recent interview with The Times of London, Gunn stated his movie is "about politics," citing the illegal immigration situation in the United States, and his answer to anyone who doesn't like that is "screw them."

Comments:

Another Hollyweird movie that I will NOT be watching . . .

These people have the brains of a turnip. Hollywood is a business, over everything else. If you are too stupid to realize that you actually need an audience to pay to see your movie, you are too stupid to survive the industry.

Who else is sick and tired of another "Superman" movie? My God, this will be Superman 35, much like Batman 82 and Godzilla 18. Where are America's great screenplay authors? Where are the great movies about the America we all love? Superman? Political? Another $100 million wanted on garbage no one will pay to see. Hollywood, just crawl back under your rock and let me know when another Hemingway shows up. America has one word for Hollywood, OK, three words, "We. Hate. You."

I've been to the movies perhaps 5 times in the past 25 years. Will never go back. Let alone to some loser of a Super Hero slamming America. Go back to Krypton and take all of Hollywood with you. And the lead male actor isn't even good looking. At least Chris Reeves was nice to look at. 50 years ago Jaws hit the theaters. Now that is when the summer movies were fun. But I will admit that the sequels were pretty bad. This is one movie that was actually better than the book. Making the Dreyfus character funny and likeable made all the difference. This Hollywood has nothing to offer.

I must assume that Gunn got his money up front and is not relying on a percentage of the film's profit . The last Superman movie I watched starred Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. The last Superman TV series I watched for more than a few minutes starred George Reeves. I expect to be able to say the same thing in a year or two, if I’m still around then. Oh, and the new Superman comic book series, Superman is 'gay'. But since I haven't bought a comic book in 60+ years they won't notice my boycotting them now.

I don't have a problem with the movie if it shows Superman's parents applying for a legal refugee visa for their son before they blasted him off from the planet Krypton. I suspect not, so we won't be watching it.

First, I had no plans on seeing anything by Gunn, a man who openly joked about sexually assaulting his own daughter. Not just once or twice, either; the guy ended up deleting something like 10,000 tweets over inappropriate content. He's a very sick man. Two, they've already shown a big chunk of the movie with the multiple trailers, clips, etc. Considering the trailers are supposed to show you the best parts of the movie, then this thing must be horrible. All that's been shown so far is very bad. Superman is a whiny, angry, screaming beta male who kicks his pet dog. Yeah, that's going to get me to see the movie. Third, stop with the bloody reboots!

Although the method in Gunn's seeming madness is explained in the article itself what is not explained is the fallacy of Gunn's assumptions about his audiences.

I continue to be amazed how Hollywood wastes millions of dollars on bad/woke movies. You would think by now either they would get a clue or that their backers would say no more throwing good money after bad. With the possible exception of Tom Cruise and Clint Eastwood, I don't think there are any sane people left in the film industry.

All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this.” He concluded his statement with a call for de-escalation: “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a rare presidential endorsement just six days before the 2024 election. The former Republican Governor of California - who refused to vote for Donald Trump in 2016 - announced that he will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. In the shocking endorsement, the actor wrote: 'I don’t really do endorsements. I’m not shy about sharing my views, but I hate politics and don’t trust most politicians.' Despite that, the Terminator star, 77, said that it's time for the country 'to move forward', and that 'the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz'.

My Uber driver a few mornings ago didn’t mind the relatively short ride we embarked on. “Every trip counts,” he said, “no one is more or less important than the other.” (snip)Every person has a story that can help others . . . I think that’s the power of the new movie Unplanned. It’s the story of a woman, Abby Johnson, and her desire to help women, to have a purpose, to do something good with her life. She believed she was doing that when she worked at a Planned Parenthood clinic, but realized the horrors of the abortion industry and resigned to become a pro-life activist.

None of us ever would have heard of Jeffrey Epstein had the government not brought him up. It was the government that brought charges against him. The government told us that he was “the most prolific child sex trafficker in history.” The government said he was “with intelligence.” The government cut him a sweetheart deal. The government was taken to court by “John Doe” over what the government called “client lists.” The government courts made a ruling about the “client lists” not being released. Senator Dick Durbin blocked the release of the “client list” in the legislative branch of the government. The government said it had “client lists” on its desk.

As lawmakers begin crafting the 12 annual appropriations bills to fund the federal government in fiscal year 2026, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has implied that his party will refuse to cooperate in the process if Republicans revoke billions in funding from previous years. The Senate is set to vote on a rescissions package that narrowly passed the House in June and would cancel already appropriated federal funds for public broadcasting and some foreign aid programs. Republicans only need a majority vote for the legislation to pass. The Rescissions Act of 2025, compiled by the Office of Management and Budget, requests the cancellation of federal spending deemed wasteful

The priority is for “geographic proximity to the fire perimeters of the Eaton, Hughes, and Palisades fires.” Earlier this year, The Center Square broke news that California state law and a local Los Angeles ordinance require fire-destroyed rent-protected housing — which includes all apartments in the city built before October 1978 — be replaced with low-income housing. Florida cannot enforce a new law that would bar illegal immigrants from entering the Sunshine State, the Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday. “The application for stay presented to Justice Thomas and by him referred to the Court is denied,” read the order rejecting Florida’s emergency appeal to the high court. No justices dissented, and the court did not provide a written opinion explaining the order. US District Judge Kathleen Williams, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, blocked Florida from enforcing the new law in April.
