The Power of "Unplanned" Love Can Help Change People

Original Article

My Uber driver a few mornings ago didn’t mind the relatively short ride we embarked on. “Every trip counts,” he said, “no one is more or less important than the other.” (snip)Every person has a story that can help others . . . I think that’s the power of the new movie Unplanned. It’s the story of a woman, Abby Johnson, and her desire to help women, to have a purpose, to do something good with her life. She believed she was doing that when she worked at a Planned Parenthood clinic, but realized the horrors of the abortion industry and resigned to become a pro-life activist.

Comments:

This is must-see movie if you are pro-life. It exposes the evil of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, seen through the real-life story of a former PP clinic director who "saw the light" and became a pro-life activist.

As age, circumstances and knowledge change, I fear that many people, men and women, who were formerly convinced that abortion was just fine, will after seeing this film realize the mistake they made perhaps long ago. I hope that it doesn’t precipitate a wave of depression. Certainly it should wake some people up, if they are capable of it.

For most pro-choicer it´s always been an academic conversation-they never, ever see what actually happens to a fetus. The most ardent abortion supporters never had to witness an actual procedure, it´s not an easy thing to see. Isn´t it easier to just NOT GET PREGNANT than have an abortion? With so many avenues of contraception available-and cheap-it takes a special kind of lazy/stupid to become pregnant if you didn´t want to.

#2, I will take these matters a step further. If you don´t want to have a baby, keep your clothes on. It´s the contraceptive mentality that brought us cheap, readily available, uncommitted sex that clouds our ability to see others as ends in themselves as opposed to merely means to other ends. Human beings are not lower life forms. We have a frontal cortex within our skulls that allows us to make choices, to plan, to deliberate, etc.
Higher cortical centers (although they seem to be missing in liberals such as AOC) separate us from dogs and other animals.

We need to support this movie in true ´Chick-Fil-A" appreciation day fashion. Lets keep these movie theaters full for weeks.

#1: I completely disagree. I hope those who have agreed with and undergone abortions DO suffer from depression after seeing this film--not because I want them to suffer but because facing the truth about our own sinfulness is painful . . . and ugly . . . and depressing. Then I hope that in their pit of despair, they turn to a loving God who has been patiently waiting for them all along.

It´s often only when we hit rock bottom that we seek out help. May those who have aborted babies or supported aborting babies find the Rock that´s at rock bottom . . . and soon!

I will probably watch the movie and am already on board with its message and that of other posters.
Still, we frequently see stories about these feral animals (like the one a few stories up) who make the world a worse place just by being in it. They are the same demographic that is targeted by the abortion industry.
It gives me pause, and makes me wonder if I could be wrong this time.

#3, I agree that easily available, reliable contraception has had unintended consequences. But even before there was easily available birth control, there were unplanned pregnancies. People--especially young people--make bad decisions. The consequences of pregnancy are serious, for women and girls, in particular. What needs to happen is not telling them they should have kept their clothes on but helping them to find a way besides abortion to cope with the situation. Many religious organizations do this, contrary to what liberals claim.

Hurricane, sorry for another comment. Life is full of pain and error. As well as joy and happiness if we are fortunate. What is done is done. Perhaps your faith gives you forgiveness and peace for your own presumed errors. Not all of us have been granted your convictions.

Our society in general has not had an intelligent conversation about sex & contraception and how the technology (along with public toilets & feminine hygiene products) affect the sex roles in a family & society. The 1960´s were ´free sex´ for all and in the later decades families struggle with how to balance home, kids & work. Then there is the evil unsaid eugenics view that ´certain kinds´ of people should not have children. The movie was quite well done and the actress playing the heartless PP supervisor needs an award for walking the fine line between drama & melodrama. Abby Johnson has said straight up that she was truly unthinking when she started to work for PP. She did say that she joined to help make abortion rare - that she bought that lie hook, line & sinker.

The bell in the Independence Hall tower rang at 9 a.m., and Mark Sanford took a deep breath. He grabbed a giant check for “one trillion dollars,” stood next to a tiny wooden lectern, and asked me if I was ready for him to kick off a news conference announcing his bid to challenge President Donald Trump in the 2020 Republican primary. It didn’t really feel like a news conference. I was the only reporter there.

Planned Parenthood has long proclaimed itself to be a pro-woman medical provider of comprehensive health care services to women . . . Such self-righteous congratulatory proclamations have been partially unmasked. In recent years, Planned Parenthood has been exposed for what it truly is – the world’s largest provider and promoter of abortion, for which it receives millions of tax-payer dollars.

As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is to turn America into a one-party nation ruled by Democrats. Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. Noncitizens are obligated to identify themselves and opt out,

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
