A new book on the end of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and the birth of Kamala Harris’ sheds light on the process behind the vice president choosing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, a decision widely panned by pundits in retrospect.
“2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America,” released Tuesday by journalists Josh Dawsey of the Wall Street Journal, Tyler Pager of the New York Times and Isaac Arnsdor of the Washington Post, described a vetting process that came down to three finalists: Walz, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly.
All three candidates did a final interview

New book? Why, of course there is!
What follows up abject failure better than a book none, but journalistas, will read?

Well...CommieLa must have swallowed something pretty nasty if Tampon Tim came out of her gut. The article said Nancy Pelosi gave her some input but nothing about inputs from Willie Brown

By picking Waltz for his followers, Harris showed the entire Dem's stupidity. Pick a guy who can do the job, not be folksy

The way Timmy pranced across the stage waving to the crowd should have been a red flag. His wife liking the smell of burning tires during the riots should have been another warning. The man is a weirdo.

Going with knucklehead was a good move. For us red-hatters.
If this is a sample of her "gut" instincts, we really, really dodged a DISASTER!!!

Let's be honest - he was Jewish and he didn't deny Israel's right to exist. He had no chance of getting the VP nomination.

Josh Shapiro likely would have delivered PA for her, and possibly the White House. We are eternally grateful her pride, stupidity and alcoholic haze got the best of her.

Democrats have a long history of picking a VP that will not be able to out shine the President. Carter and Mondale, Obama and Biden then Harris and Walz.

And remember, Kamala was their top choice. What does that say about the ones that were NOT chosen. All the dem also rans are still vying for "the next time" and none of them are worth a damn. It seems to be a race to the bottom, and for the dems, the bottom seems to get worse and worse.

It doesn't matter a bit. Shapiro, Kelly and Walz are equally despicable human beings. I hope I'm not too generous in calling them human.

#13, just because the democrats in Bucks County Pennsylvania are masters of the art of cheating does not mean that Pennsylvania would be carried by favoring Shapiro. All other counties are Red except for Allegheny.

I think right around that time the “Qu#&rs”for Palestine” showed up at Fettermans House and he climbed up on his roof and waved an Israeli flag. In my opinion that was bad to bone but I don’t think Kamala looked at it that way. She saw that as a threat and decided she decided she wanted Pennsylvania’s votes but not that baggage.

The article mentions Mark Kelly as a choice, but nothing on why a former astronaut was not chosen. My takeaway is that the choices of candidates that did not emphasize how woefully inadaquate Harris was by dint of merely existing or having careers that didn't rely on sleeping with a governor was very limited.

A bit off topic here but....
On the Dem side 2028 will probably be between Shapiro and Newsom.
I predict Shapiro will get the nomination because he is smarter, knows when to keep his mouth shut, and has a lean and hungry look. He will be formidable against whomever our side goes with.

The entire point of the article is that the decision came down to Walz's choice of (diet) Mountain Dew. It's how the AWFLs view the rural American male.

Shapiro was obviously the best choice, but because he was obviously smarter than she was, he was discarded.
Also, Shapiro was too Jewish for the democrats, even though it is hard to understand why democrats seem to be favored by a majority of Jewish voters.
